Awesome!! We stayed one night. Wish we could’ve stayed more. Roomy and comfortable with a nice bed, big shower, great little kitchen, and a friendly staff. There was a fire pit and some chairs out we would’ve loved to use. Walking distance to bars and restaurants downtown.
This place was really neat. They're little individual almost like tiny house cabins centered around a fire pit right on the edge of town. We only stayed overnight but we had a great time and we're very happy with our accommodations. We met the owner who was very nice and friendly and talked a little bit about setup. I would definitely recommend it for couples or families with one or two small children. Larger groups may need multiple cabins. I'll definitely check it out this summer when the town is up and running. The best part of it is they were very dog friendly.
We rolled into Leadville after dark,and we're expecting another room for the nite. While driving down a side road, we saw a bright blue train car, surrounded by rustic looking cabins, we stopped, and that was such a a good idea. The clerk was super friendly and helpful, we decided to stay a second nite. Inside was like a cabin in the woods, without the drafts. Kitchen,nice bathroom, and some retro appliances. We loved it, thank you to whoever dreamed up this place!
Amazing boutique venue with high end cabins. Fully equipped kitchenettes, comfortable beds, streaming television and stereos, super friendly staff and perfect location next to The Freight for weddings and events...must see, must stay in Leadville. Train whistles add to the ambience!
This was a last minute find after a day spent at a mechanic in another town. We didn't want to drive Independence Pass in the dark and this spot was a great choice! What a GEM! Also shout out to Jill at the front desk, she was helpful and kind. Definitely recommend this unique little spot
We loved staying here! The staff was helpful, beds were great and the Sallie Purple room was a great size for parents and two kids. Kitchenette was perfect. It was a really unique and fun location!
Such a gem! We had an excellent time staying here. The cabins are incredibly clean, cute, and comfy. Modern, yet you feel like you've stepped back in time a little bit. Such a cool vibe!
They have everything we needed to cook some meals, hang out, and get a great night's sleep. Loved the quiet, and the proximity to shops and restaurants. Our pup loved the provided dog bed! We're already thinking about when we should come back.
I wish we could have stayed the whole week! We loved our stay in Spuddy. The kitchenette was perfect, the bed was comfy, and I think our dog liked the dog bed more than his home one! Do I wish the water pressure was stronger? Yes, but if that’s the only thing I can fault, then I’d say it was a pretty dang good spot!
Excellent place to stay. Small kitchenette, heated floors, communal propane fire pit and many other amenities. The nalstagic record play/tape/radio thingy was an Awsome touch. Haven't seen a cassette tape in forever. Room has alot of cool details. The communication was the best I've ever encountered (even from friends lol)
NOT a problem for me but if you need a front desk and TV, this may not be your place. Everything is done via text and no TV (awsome).
If I can complain about anything, well i can't. Thanks and I look forward next time.
This place is way cool, the detail and layout of the "Lil Lovell" is perfect and your stories are fun, staff was very friendly. Good linens as well and clean.
The mattress is worn to death and the frame it sits on sounds like a creaky cot from the old days! Needless to say, not any amount of sleep counted that night. -1 star.
FIX YOUR WINDOWS! For a place that has no A/C, the only relief is to open a window, both the west facing windows are broken.

Food still on dishes on shelf.
No space or privacy.
Not quiet concert hall next door goes all night.
Kids will be screaming and running around all night.
The owner will text your personal number with utter nonsense all your stay.
A noisy woman runs the joint.
Invest in something better, do yourself the favor!
Parking is awful and not close to your cabin.
Very nice accommodation within walking distance of downtown Leadville. The individual cabins had a great layout, radiant heated floors, small kitchenette, and everything we needed for our stay. The staff contacted us via text message and provided clear and timely instructions. They continued to touch-base during our stay to ensure we had everything we needed. Great place to stay.
This is a beautiful property. My complaint is rigidity around the communications and check in process. To be fair, I think staff may also be working other jobs but the business model seems a little confused about who the customer is. They put a free drink in your room and they REFUSED to tell us the options by phone or email, or in advance. It had to be texted at their convenience. Some people don't use their real phone number when traveling for a variety of reasons (domestic violence, stalkers, general privacy) and you'd think somewhere that goes out of the way to spell "folks" with an x would be aware about this. (This is an actual political statement, the x, I had to look it up). They also made a huge deal out of texting you (wouldn't tell me on my office phone) how to get into your room (no front desk) and it turns out they just leave it open with the key inside. No place for anyone to hide except the bathroom, but a safety gap.
So if you're looking for customer service this isn't your place, but it is very nice and impeccably clean with a good location.
Wow, it could be an understatement! This cabin was awesome!
They have many to choose from, and we stayed in a couple's cabin. The inside is maybe industrial contemporary, I guess, but it was fantastic. I was a little tired from driving and lay on the bed and just stared at the awesome ceiling!

I would recommend this place for sure. Sadly, it was just an overnight stay, but a few days would be great, so to enjoy the surrounding area and more of Leadville. On a side note, sorry we left our travel cheese and meat snacks, etc. Y'all were so nice and helpful.
Wonderful stay at the Freight! The cabin was really cute and clean, gorgeous views of the mountains, and there were so many thoughtful touches. Loved the record player and the IPAs waiting for us in the fridge. We will definitely be back.
