Got me in and diagnosed my car in under 20 minutes. Talked me through what was going on and didn’t try to upsell me something it didn’t need, very straightforward and honest people, will definitely be returning for any future service.
John is a great, down-to-earth guy. He took care of a large timing belt, water pump job a couple of weeks back on my older Toyota truck. Told me what I needed to know and no issues since.
I took my overheating car here over 4th of July weekend, picking this repair shop because it was the closest to me and I'm so glad I did! John's the best!
Brought my van in February after having a breakdown in the mountains and a patch repair done at a shop there which left my van with a misfire. I brought it here, subsequently I got a call that he was 100% sure that the only thing that could cause this misfire was bad fuel injectors, he also replaced the spark plugs and wires (which he attached with silicone sealant to the distributor??) after he had it for over 2 weeks after giving me multiple unreasistic deadlines and saying that he just needed to finish tuning it. He subsequently called me and told me that the timing chain had jumped and that he couldn't fix it, although I'm quite certain he didn't check that diagnosis and I spent the next several weeks fixing it myself in my free time (and it was most certainly not the timing chain)
He also left parts off my van when he reassembled it, leaving me without the top cover to the engine protecting the spark wires. And I found a few missing screws and wires not properly re-clipped to the proper positions. In my experience there was little attention to detail and little in terms of real diagnosis or finding the real issue before he will start throwing parts at it.
Since he didn't have my car in running shape, he did knock off the labor costs, but still asking customers to pay 700-800$ for parts alone for an issue with no work put towards a diagnosis is not a good practice. I would've saved time, frustratation, and money if I had not brought my van here.
John is knowledgeable and helpful. Very low-key shop without unnecessary bells and whistles. No diagnostic fees. He was happy to show old parts. Did try to sell a bunch of extra unneeded fixes.
John provided outstanding service, fixing my friend's Subaru in just one day. His expertise in Subaru repairs was evident, and he quickly diagnosed and resolved the issue. John's communication throughout the process was clear and transparent, making the experience hassle-free. I highly recommend John for his fast and excellent service in getting the car back on the road swiftly.
I brought my car in on December 26th for repair since it wasn’t running. After nearly a month a new parts, misdiagnosis, and waiting. I was told John would not be able to fix my car. I completely understand that. Sometimes it’s not in the cards. But waiting over a month for for any diagnosis is unacceptable. Its February 7th and I had to tow my car somewhere else since it’s still not running. I appreciate that John only charged me for the new parts and not the labor. But the cost I could have saved by taking it to a reputable mechanic who would have been prompt and communicative would have saved me a whole lot of headache. Do yourself a favor take your car somewhere else.
Edit: in light of Johns response I wanted to clarify I did try to replace the alternator but the bolts were already stripped and the car has not had a jump in literal years. Ask yourself do you want a mechanic who is honest and can own up to short comings? Or one who goes on the offensive as soon as soon as someone is critical? I have updated my review to 1 star.
I was in the shop last year to change a ball joint. The new joimt wasn't properly tested, and the wheel partly disconnected, burning a hole in the front bumper and windshield fluid tank. We had to pay hundreds of dollars to tow the car back to the shop. When I returned to get the tank replaced, I was told the break pads and rotors absolutely needed to be replaced. While replacing them, our calipers broke and we had to replace those as well. So yeah, I didn't come today, but I have visited.
John was a true lifesaver for me! My car desperately needed a new coil and John was able to get a new one in my car right away. He was quick, kind, professional and very knowledgeable. I will definitely visit him for repairs in the future! Thank you so much again for your help John! If you are looking for a fantastic mechanic John is the best!
John and his team are excellent mechanics with great, fair pricing. They have repaired/replaced most of the major systems as they failed on my older lexus, and it runs great now with 250k+ miles. All of their repairs worked the first time, and they work to find quality parts for good prices. They have gotten the car in and out quickly when needed. Probably the best mechanics I've had for Toyotas.
Searched around for a while for a good, reliable, honest, auto mechanic. This place works diligently to access the problems and find good quality parts at reasonable prices. I have a Nissan so they are skilled with foreign and domestic vehicles.
These guys John and Paul have no clue whT they are doing. They replaced a motor in my BRZ. I co u ld have did a better job myself. In over a year theres only been not even 100 miles put on the car. I just got my car check out by the Subaru Docyors. They diagnosed of the BRZ is who ever put this motor in has no clue what they are doing. T hat if it was a good shop they would rrefound your money or pay to fix it. Way to go guys you did a great job.
Best mechanics I have ever had the pleasure of working on my cars. They take real good care of me and I fully trust when they diagnose a problem. Also their fees are very reasonable.
We were on the road trip from Minneapolis... our car broke down ... other shop did not know what was wrong... Jon saved us... within 5 minutes he diagnosed correctly and ordered the part that was in the shop within 2 hours... thank you!
Experienced techs. Did a free diagnostic on the spot for a walk in. They did have a slight wait to do the repairs but did a great job. Great price, cheaper than most other shops by far. Good enough of an experience that for the first time ever I actually tipped my mechanic. Who does that? Lol. Ask for Paulie!!
I was passing through from Utah when my vehicle broke down on a Friday night. John got me in at the last minute and worked tirelessly to get me back on the road so I could make it back home. He had to visit different parts stores to find hard-to-find parts and worked extra hours. John truly went the extra mile and then some! He is a stand-up guy and I would recommend his service to anyone!
John and Paul were awesome!!! Best auto-repair service I’ve expierenced! Easy, Cheaper than I thought and I got it back within 6hrs. I will definitely use them again!

This man was incredibly helpful and fixed my car for 1/4 of the price that another store on the corner of Kipling n Colfax stated would charge me 125.00 JUST to check what was wrong. Mr John was. Incredibly helpful and courteous! Awsome mechanic! Unfortunately he will be moving due to land lord making other plans for his place. Will be leaving in September probably. I recommend this mechanic to anyone.
