As a woman who knows next to nothing about cars I’m always skeptical walking into the mechanic. My car was shaking when braking but I went into a tire place and had my rotors checked and they said they were fine. Took my car into Gary and he insisted it was my rotors. Said if the issue kept happening to bring my car back and he’d refund me and put my old rotors back in. That wasn’t necessary, he was right and my car’s driving great. 10/10 would recommend!
At first I left Wheat Ridge Auto Services a 5 star review on 12/17 but today I have to adjust it because on the 17th I had an Oil change done, come to find out today (12/18) the engine oil is over filled. Additionally, the invoice under labor states Remove & Replace Rear Brakes & Rotors, Turn Rotors: $334.00 but when I took my vehicle in to get a quote for the front breaks from two different places on 12/18 both informed me the rear rotors were not replaced nor turned. Therefore, I drove back to Wheat Ridge Auto Services to clarify this and a mechanic informed me: rear rotors were not replaced but were indeed turned and I showed him the picture attached of a rear rotor and asked “Is this what rotors look like after they are turned?” And he said YES, which is confusing to me because that’s not what a before & after picture looks like after extensive research. Therefore, my concern is that the rotors were not turned as quoted, if the actual cost on labor for replacing rear break pads and turning rotor is $334.00 or if that includes removing & replacement of rear rotors (which is not a service that was done and confirmed by a mechanic at the shop). I’m fine paying for services done to my vehicle but not for services not done; as anyone would be and over filling my engine oil is of course a major concern.
I am the owner of this business & would like to comment on Antonis Demeny's review. If you are owner of the Nissan, let me explain a few details you left out. The vehicle owner walked in my shop with a printout from Auto Zone showing an oxygen sensor code along with an oxygen sensor purchased from the store. The printout also stated the most probable solutions for this code. She ask me how much to install the part she brought in. Gave her a price & she agreed to have us install it. Part was installed, coded cleared. She returned in minutes with the check engine light back on. I check the code immediately & it was the same oxygen sensor code. Asked if I guarantee my work, I explained to her that i installed a part she brought in that Auto Zone's print out said the most likely cure. I told her we did not diagnose the problem, we installed a part she brought in. Also told her that we would be happy to diagnose the problem but that would be more involved & it would be best to pick a time that she can drop the car off. Please bring the invoice back, I will give you a full refund & pay for a full interior detail
I had a very disappointing experience at this shop. After paying for a repair, the same issue (same code) came back almost immediately. When I returned, they refused to even check their work or stand behind the repair. Instead of taking responsibility, they blamed me for suggesting a code—even though, as professionals, they should have verified it themselves if they had any doubts.
In addition, the shop is extremely dirty. Each time they got into my vehicle, they left black oil stains on my cloth seats with their dirty fingers—no seat covers or basic cleanliness standards. Overall, I was treated like a nuisance rather than a customer.
If you’re looking for a place that guarantees their work, treats your car with care, and values their customers, I’d strongly recommend looking elsewhere.
absolutely 10/10. Gary and Steve are incredible. they don't charge you more than they need to, and they look for specific problems instead of fixing things that don't need to be fixed in order to charge extra (which is rare to find). will be going to them exclusively, and sending anyone I can their way.
Gary with Wheatridge Auto was my mechanic for over 20 yrs. It was by accident that I chose them but what a find. It extremely hard to find a mechanic responsive, reliable, and fair. I sent all my family and friends to Gary. I recently moved out of the Area and finding it hard to find a trustworthy mechanic.

First time customer of Wheat Ridge auto. All the five star reviews are spot on. I brought in our Toyota RAV4 because of an oil leak coming from the right front of the car. I was told by other mechanics it was a bad CV joint and or axle. Gary said it was simply a missing gasket on the oil plug. Needless to say, I will be using Gary from now on as our mechanic.
These folks are exceptional. Very good mechanics, great shop, very kind interactions, speedy work completion. This was my first time there. This place was highly referred by a friend. And I would highly refer them too.
Took my truck in to find a leak, said they found it in the power steering. I had to keep calling about the truck and what was going on. One person said it was already to go and fixed. I had to call to get it picked up, they did nothing with it. Just found the leak in the power steering fluid somewhere and it would need a whole rack and pinion like $1300. No communication nothing. This place came as a recommended place to go Not so much

I’ve brought my car to Gary several times now, two of which were after I was quoted several thousand dollars worth of work by other mechanics. Gary was honest about what was truly necessary for my car, and I will definitely continue bringing my business here even though I moved further away.
Gary is such a kind and honest mechanic! I had some trouble with a weird sound in my front left brake and it was worrying me since I have a long road trip back home but he was honest and said I would be fine for the drive back, that it was nothing to worry about. He was honest and didn’t try to get any money out of me, considering I don’t know much about cars haha. He didn’t even charge me to check it out and was so patient with me. 10/10 recommend this auto shop for any questions/troubles you have. Gary and his crew are amazing!
I took my car to Wheatridge auto service when my brakes were grinding a few months ago. He replaced them for a fair price and was able to salvage my rotors by sanding them down so I didn’t have to buy new ones. This morning, I woke up to a flat tire. After getting frustrated that I couldn’t unscrew the lug nuts, I called Gary. He drove over to my house, with his tools, and helped me put on my spare - despite the shop not even doing tires. He wouldn’t accept payment so a review will have to do. 10/10 highly recommend these wonderful people
I've had an alternator and fan clutch bolts replaced here for reasonable honest prices. Instant service 24 hour turn around on one of the repairs. This is the one shop in Denver greater area I prefer doing business with. You need it fixed quick on the weekdays and you don't wanna get screwed for work you didn't need this is the place.
This shop really does deserve the great reviews. Gary is awesome. The techs are great. Quality work that I know I can trust. I used to live in the neighborhood, but now I will gladly drive down out of the mountains to take my car to Wheat Ridge Auto Service. Nothing but gratitude for this shop.

I had failed my emissions test multiple times. I enjoy working on my own ride. Couldn’t figure it out. Gary, owner operator, was able to get my car to pass! Truly a great man. He not only took it himself, he spent time just to talk to me. And met me on a Saturday to deliver my car. Highly recommend this man and his company!
I cannot say enough good things about this shop! We live in Indiana and our daughter just moved to Colorado. She is on a tight budget and her brakes went out. 2 different service garages were going to charge her thousand of dollars to do the repair+charge her for unnecessary work. The mechanic we worked with at Wheat Ridge went above and beyond to help us; he found a discontinued part, repaired only what was needed in one day and got her back on the road for an amazingly low price. My wife and I have been going to wheat ridge auto for 24 years now. The owner Gary, is fantastic. The shop does great work. He stands behind what they do. They have never overcharged and have reasonable prices. I wouldn't go anywhere else.
Gary is the man. Iv taken my car there twice and both times he's fixed the problem and more within a couple days. He's Honest and straight forward with no B.S. And he took the car in to pass the emissions himself! I won't take my junker Xterra anywhere else. Gary and his crew are the best.
My husband and I road tripped from MN to Denver. Upon arrival our driver front tire was pouring out smoke. We researched online to find Wheat Ridge just a few miles away with great reviews. The reviews is what made our decision. There were some diagnostics and repairs needed to assess what was wrong, and then parts were ordered. The parts took a couple of days to come in (not up to Wheat Ridge), but we always felt like a priority. I can only imagine they make most customers feel the same. The repairs were accurate, the customer service was great, and the price was right. I highly recommend using them.

Gary is probably the most honest, reliable person running any sort of business, anywhere. I really can't say enough good things about this business and I wish that other businesses would take a page out of Gary's book and just be honest and do things the right way...it's an excellent business model! Best mechanic I've ever been to.
If you are looking for a great mechanic, who won't overcharge you, and actually perform good work on your car, this is the guy for you!!!! He does amazing work and will even throw in a few corny jokes to make you feel like part of the family. I even went in one time needing work done and only had a certain amount of cash and Gary cut me a deal! Great guy, great shop!
I've never felt so satisfied walking out of a car shop. Gary was great! I took my car to another place for an oil change and the person there said they found about $1000 worth of repairs. Mostly brake pad and rotor issues. The guy told me that each axel would cost me $350-$450 to fix these problems. I took my car to Gary at Wheat Ridge Auto and he changed the brake pads and buffed out the rust on my rotors on BOTH axels and when all was said and done it only cost me $360. I was so happy!! Not only does it feel good knowing my car's brakes are safe again, but I now have a mechanic I can trust. I am a young woman who just moved to the area so it would have been really easy for him to take advantage of that and be a crook. However, he was honest, explained every problem in detail and treated me like family. He also had it done the same day I dropped it off! Overall, the experience was above excellent and I will be recommending him to everyone. Thank you Gary!!!
