I almost never write reviews, but I felt like I had to for this shop. It’s honestly one of the few places I’ve found that’s both trustworthy and well-priced. The team here is super honest — they actually take the time to explain what’s going on with your car in a way that makes sense, and they walk you through your options without any pressure or upselling.

Brad and his team saved my car!! Another shop had told me my car was done for. I thankfully came to Brad for a second opinion, and he totally fixed it for way less than expected. Had to get my transmission replaced and boy did I come to the right place! Highly recommended by friends Scotts Valley transmission went above and beyond. The best mechanic shop l've found. Been coming here for about 5 years for everything from major transmission problems to just my oil changes. I love the detailed notes and report given after every visit. Fair pricing and honest, never upselling. I've double checked in with my best friends husband who owns a shop down south and he's always impressed also with all that l've mentioned above. I trust them 100%!

Scotts Valley Transmission is the real deal, truly a rarity now days and simply exceptional. Brad and his team are great!!! A friend referred me and I will be returning. The young lady who answered the phone promptly scheduled me an appointment giving me multiple ways to drop my vehicle and options on dates. Upon arrival I was greeted, Brad took the time to educate me on what would be done, why it was needed and how to prevent problems in the future, all of this in a very honest way and in a fashion that I could actually understand. Truck was completed within the day just as quoted. Work performed was transmission fluid and filter exchange, oil change, and tire rotation. All of this was done for a very fair price and there were no surprises or gimmicks to try to get me to spend more. Straight up quality people doing quality work. Thank you SVTA !

Believe it or not, there really is still a friendly, neighborhood auto shop that will change your oil and give your car a once-over for a reasonable price. Even better, they did everything promptly and without the upselling of dubiously-required air filters we've all come to dread. I'm extremely pleased with my experience at SVTAC and will definitely be back.

Brought my CR-V in because another shop recommended that I needed new brakes soon. Scotts Valley Auto Care did the diagnostics and found that I had at least 50% remaining on the brake pads and that I did not need new brakes at this time. They showed me pictures of the brake pads so I could see for myself.

Top Rated Auto Repair Shop for Diesel Trucks! It is hard to find a shop that has solid professional knowledge on working with Diesel Trucks. We live in San Jose and have been looking for years for a reliable shop with reasonable rates for many years. We have been coming to Scotts Valley Transmission Shop for 2 years now. Started with a Transmission issue which they took care of right away and have not had any problems since. We were happy to find that they perform all Auto Repair Services for our routine maintenance on Diesels. We have been extremely satisfied with their team of Professional Auto Technicians, their friendly Customer Service and prices are more then fair. We have to drive a little but it is worth it and they have won our business. Highly Recommend them to all family and friends.

I would highly recommend Scotts Valley Transmission & Auto Care for not only your Transmission needs but any of your auto needs. Brad and his crew were absolutely amazing. They helped every step of the way. I needed to have my car towed to them. After being diagnosed, Brad took the time to explain all option available and the pros and cons of each. Once the work was completed, he informed my that rear breaks needed to be replaced. They were able to complete that work in a quick and timely manner. So much so that I was out of town and had to leave my vehicle there for a few days, until I got home. Since I picked it up it has been running amazingly. Super happy. My last visit a day ago involved a faulty plug coil. Brad diagnosed the problem and verified its accuracy by using/switching the assembly onto a different plug to see if that misfired as the other. I had my car back in one-day-turnaround. How excellent is that ?!

Go here if you want it done right the first time. This has been my "go to" auto shop for the past 6 or 7 years. They have always fixed the issue(s) correctly and in a good time frame. Brad is great with communicating what needs to be done, how long it will take and how much it will cost. Which is not always the case in the auto repair industry. You know this if you have ever taken your car to a dealership to get worked on. They are also very good with normal scheduled maintenance like tune ups or fluid changes. I never have any concerns after picking my vehicle up from them.

My family member recommended them! True to their reputation: honest, fair prices & have ur best interest at heart! Big shoutout to Brad for helping figure out what’s wrong with my Subaru & explain it to me in a way I understood! Can’t recommend them enough!

I’ll start by saying that we can all agree any sort of car trouble or repairs is already stressful to begin with, right? Well, having your alternator belt quiet literally shred into pieces at 9pm at night while you’re driving home is even worse. At that time, we did not know what it was but we knew I couldn’t drive my car any further. My car was taken by tow up to Scotts Valley Transmission & Auto Care and dropped off that same night. By 2pm the next day I had a message from Brad letting me know the repairs were done and I could come pick up my car. I was in shock. Here I thought it would take days to do the repairs and I’d be without a vehicle leaving me in a tight spot. Brad not only reassured me they would do everything they could to figure out exactly what needed to be done but would also be mindful of the need for me to have a vehicle back in a timely manner. I’m so impressed by this shop from start to finish. It’s hard to come across honest, efficient and reliable car repair shops nowadays and I can confidently say, I have now found my go-to!

These guys, Brad in particular, saved us thousands of dollars. The dealer told us we needed a new transmission at a cost of about $13,000! We called SVT for a second opinion. Brad told us that flushing the transmission often solved the kind of problems we described and suggested we bring it in. We did. He checked the transmission fluid and told us it was fatigued and that for a very modest cost he could fix it. We gave him the go ahead and sure enough, it solved our problem. No new transmission required! Yet another example of why dealers have such shady reputations. We were very impressed with Brad's analysis and pinpoint diagnosis. It's so nice to find someone so knowledgeable and honest. We highly recommend SVT and will definitely use them again.

I could not recommend this shop enough! The best around in my opinion. I spent over $1k at the Mercedes dealership, problem not fixed. Another shop denied there being a problem. Brought my ML350 in here, and problem immediately fixed. Any time my car has an issue, they never fail to identify the problem and fix. Brad is simply the best! The customer service is excellent. His team is trustworthy and accommodating. You will never be disappointed here. Always a positive experience!

The mechanics and SV Transmission are trustworthy and very skilled which is rare to come by when finding a mechanic these days. I’d know because I have a 2004 Subaru Forester that’s been randomly overheating, but showing no signs of head gasket failure. Because of this, I’ve been to 4 mechanics who couldn’t find the issue but still charged me for repairs that never seemed to contribute to the real problem. In huge contrast, Scott’s Valley Transmission took care of my car as if it were their own. Brad checked my car and found that the previous owner used silicone to repair the original head gaskets instead of replacing the whole thing. No other mechanics saw this and I’ve been to 4 now, I wish I came to them first! He also took me in last minute when I saw more problems arise and has been persistent to find the root issues and fix them for a very fair price. He didn’t even charge me for all the work he’s done. He’s also been very gracious with his time by squeezing me in on very busy days. It’s amazing to feel taken care of and confident in their work and diagnoses.

Great Shop. Good people. They've put a new Head Gasket in my 2003 Ford F250 with a 195,000 miles on it. The Truck runs like new now. You pop the hood it's clean & looking good. So happy to find a good shop to take my vehicles to. I'm happy to give anyone the reference of Scotts Valley Transmission great shop thanks again guy's for making my old truck run like new again

I came in for an oil change for the first time. Brad welcomed us with a friendly smile. He was very kind, knowledgable and attentive. This is definitely my new go-to-place for the maintenance and repair for my Ford F250 7.3L Diesel! The customer service was exceptional and professional.
