Wow! I have never had such a good experience buying chains and wiper fluid as I did today. First they strongly recommended over the phone that I bring the car and the manual so they could make sure the chains were a good fit. They demonstrated how to put on and take off the chains with suggestions about having a garbage bag for snow cover (and to put the wet chains in later) as well as gloves. They educated me about amending the wiper fluid in the Tahoe area and that the non freeze version is for sale in Tahoe and not here in Los Gatos. This was my best visit to an auto parts store....EVER!
This place is my new automotive store. The service and showing me how to put on the snow chains that I bought is beyond what I would receive elsewhere... for the same price. This is a DUH move.

Lots of specialty lubricants foreign and domestic along with tools and supplies.
Seems like the bad reviews are from the easily offended. The guys here were easy to get along with. Had a good conversation, definitely coming back. Don't walk in thinking you know everything... they will definitely test you.
Tried to be supportive of this place as the staff is friendly but they are very unorganized and the machine shop part of the business is in shambles

The store is a mess. The employees don't greet you or acknowledge your presence. I came in looking to buy a auto body Adhesive and stood for at least 15 minutes without any help I walked right back out and ordered it through Amazon

Walked in here and bought a couple of parts at O'Reilly had no idea what the hell I was talking about this place is the bomb ain't no kids working here they knew exactly what I wanted they were very helpful and it was extremely inexpensive I am never going anywhere else again as long as I live these guys are great
I have been going to A&M Motor Supply for years. They always find the right part even when it's for my 40 year old highly modified jeep. In addition they also provide instructions on the best way to install. If you are a DIY, A&M Motor Supply should be your shop!
Excellent service. Not only Makar made sure that in getting a correct size of tire cables, he showed how to install them and observed me practicing the skill. It's one thing to install them on hard pavement in California, quite another on a high pass in Nevada while it snows, and it's dark. I can't thank him enough and surely, I'll be back.
Sent motor parts in for a rebuild, came back in nearly worse shape. Head was riddled with contaminants from glass beading, and the internal oil lines packed with old oil and abrasive. Valve lifter bores were pristine when I dropped off, and absolutely mangled when I picked it up. Everything that got hot-tanked was returned with mineral buildup, as if it was done with hard water. Didn't read the spec sheet for my pistons properly, so I sent it elsewhere to get gapped.
Spending some hundreds more for a teardown, cleaning, and resurfacing at Clarks. Go there instead for engine work, they seem to know what they're doing. And they have the machines to actually do everything like resurfacing cylinders and line boring.
If I ran the head and pistons as-is, I would have quite literally blown my engine up within 10 miles.
Hands down the best place to shop for auto parts - unsure yet of their other offered services. Prices are very reasonable, Information is legitimate and proven, People are friendly, and the business is LOCALLY owned and operated. People here care and have a passion behind their job and thus the information delivered. Will be continuing to support this location and I highly suggest if you read this - you do as well.
Love to go to A&M motor supply they generally have whatever I need for my car and if they don't it will be more than glad to order it for you two young guys and a grandpa work there and as I said it's a great place the guys are fun and friendly and they'll share a joke or two of you it's a kind of place you're not in a hurry to leave once you get in there.
Used to love this place and try to support local businesses. That changed when I went in to pick up new wipers and was met with a lot of condescension and asked if I’d like help putting them on or if I “wanted to be a pioneer woman” instead. They have good product so it just comes down to if you want to support misogynistic business owners with Trump paraphernalia behind the desk or not
Needed some bolts cut and brackets retrieved; took 5 minutes and it was very cheap. Great work, this just became my go-to place for odd little jobs on car / bike parts.

These guys know their stuff. Too bad Roger and Duane wont let the boys play any music, that place is quieter than a church haha, Customer service is top notch and they can pretty much get you anything for your car. Best in the bay area hands down. I don't go anywhere else.
These guys are great! I walked in after another parts store recommended them. These guys were so helpful and yet hilarious at the same time. I was stressed about finding chains for my vehicle to get to Tahoe and they went out of their way to help me figure out what I needed. Throw in a comedy roundup of characters and you can imagine how enjoyable the experience was. Even if all you want is a good laugh while getting motor oil or windshield washer fluid, this place rocks! Took all my stress away and made me relax and enjoy my trip laughing all the way. A grandpa, an uncle and a grand nephew, all jokesters that truly knew what they were talking about. You don't find a local part store with this kind of magic anymore. Go ahead, walk in and enjoy!
Always very knowledgeable and attentive, a pleasure to do business with them!. I ordered a hard to find fuel pump and while they didn't carry it they ordered it in the morning and by 1:30 they called me to pick it up. Outstanding!.
One of the last true independent auto parts in the bay area. They actually know what they're selling and they've been doing it for a very long time. Roger and Duane are two of the best owners in business, I won't go anywhere else for car parts or machining services.
I've done business with them going on 42 years and they have always had the hard to find and special parts, plus they have a Rep that goes around to the shops and makes sure all customers are happy.
Although their prices are sometimes a bit above the ilk of O'Reilly and Autozone, the behind-the-counter expertise is outstanding. This is one of those "like it used to be" auto parts stores, for those of us old enough to remember. They can also do custom stuff like battery cables, hydraulic lines, etc. AND, if you plan to talk politics, bring a thick skin... :o)

Outstanding head shop machining service. I brought in my warped cylinder heads, and four hours later they were milled true, at a very reasonable price. There are few knowledgeable, old fashioned auto parts stores left, this is one of them.
