Office staff are awesome and service was great. My only complaint is not everything was reinstalled correctly causing my splash shield to loosen and eventually fell off. I had to return the next day to get it reattached. When I came to get it reattached, I arrived shortly after 7:30 but the technicians didn’t start to arrive until 7:45 and they didn’t really start until close to 8. They were finally done and I drove off at 8:35. Their prices seem to be pretty high but I haven’t gotten price comparisons recently. Overall had a good experience but little things here and there caused me some inconveniences.

A+ Auto in RWC and San Carlos are hands down the best. The service is world class. They are highly communicative, transparent, and the quality of the work is incredible. Highly recommend!

My 2018 Honda CRV needed a minor repair. One of the screws that holds the splash guard in place fell out and needed to be replaced. They replaced it for me free of charge. It was a fast and simple repair that they could easily take care of. Now that I know they are a reasonable auto repair shop, I will return when necessary.

Used to go to the other location in San Carlos, but this new one is closer to work for me. Moss, Manny, & Justin were great! Quick service & fair pricing. Will definitely be returning when I need work done.

Best automotive repair shop experience I have had. Extremely clear communication with detailed, itemized estimates provided allowing the customer to accept/decline each. Rapid responses to questions via text or phone call. Painless vehicle pickup and dropoff service or rideshare rides. Reasonable prices. Detailed examination. I had a one unresolved issue after first servicing, and shop was extremely helpful in a return visit to resolve.

Brought the vehicle in to a transmission shop the week prior and was shown the codes thrown for cylinder misfires. They only did transmission work (they were great) so I brought my vehicle here and the vehicle was working fine and no codes were given anymore, they test drove it and didn’t charge me any money because there was nothing wrong. Incredibly nice staff, wonderful experience. Highly recommend! Brad was a legend!

A+ Japanese Auto Repair did an excellent job on our Lexus 350 RX Sport… we have been using them for our autos since 2020.. wouldn't go anywhere else..their customer service is A+.. to play on words… I highly recommend them…

Easy experience going here, had to do an over-night drop-off and late-night pickup which was easy to set up. It's been a few weeks since a good amount of work was done and I haven't had any issues or need to go back for additional work.

So my transmission was slipping a bit and I Googled Transmission Redwood City. I have never been here before so I called and asked if they specialize in Transmissions. They said yes we do transmissions. When I get there I ask how much it would be to replace the transmission and they say it's hard to say but about $3,000. Then they tell me they would send it somewhere else to replace the transmission, but they could diagnose it for $265 and the $265 would go towards transmission service. So I said OK. They looked at it for 1.5 hours and said my fluid and transmission filter needs to be replaced and the cost is $550. I said OK does the $265 go towards the $550 so I would pay an extra $285. They say no, it will be an additional $550. So I was not happy with that answer.

These guys are simply the best. Took care of my Jeep and were extremely communicative throughout the whole process. They didn’t oversell. They met expectations and beyond. Special shoutout to Elaine, Brad and especially Justin. If you’re looking for a fair and honest auto shop who are local and family owned…call them. You won’t be disappointed and will be treated with so much respect and honesty!!!

Always top notch, this time I got basic service, seasonal service with the best inspections I’ve ever seen, and a battery. Very happy. I will add, I do work here but always still blown away and impressed by our inspections and how professional the techs are.

Very poor communication. I brought my car in for an alignment and an oil change. After keeping my car for 5 hours, I picked up my car and was told that the alignment wasn’t done? Why didn’t I receive a call so I could find an alternative option. I will not be returning.

Katie is the queen of customer service, explaining everything, making me feel cared for and comfortable! I loved that as the service is happening I get sent a report with photos and descriptions of what is found, along with recommendations and quotes. Very transparent and high quality service and experience!

Got an inspection done here recently and the communication is top tier they told me everything that they were going to do and even sent photos and videos. They gave me an estimate about the problem. Overall amazing service

I recently took my company BYD shuttle to A+ Auto Mechanics, and I couldn't be happier with the experience! The staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, making me feel at ease right away. They took the time to explain what our shuttle bus needed without any pressure to upsell. The service was quick and efficient, and our shuttles are running like new! I highly recommend A+ Auto Mechanics for anyone looking for reliable and trustworthy service. Five stars all the way!

Where do I begin!! A+ Auto Repair was recommended to me from a buddy - didn't even think anything of it, I figured an auto shop is an auto shop. But no, quite the opposite - A+ Auto Repair is an outstanding business with fantastic customer service. The most considerate, patient, accommodating customer service I've ever seen in an auto shop ever, and is up there for some of the best customer service EVER. I brought in my 2013 Corolla in for a diagnostic and was mentally prepared to pay for everything they deemed needed immediate attention, and we did exactly that. Justin was the one specifically guiding me through the whole process, but I had nothing but positive interactions with Elaine, among the others. One of them saw my UCSF jacket and we had a quick chat about a past customer who also worked at UCSF who got some work done - this is what I'm talking about - they don't get paid extra or get more PTO for having these small interactions - they do it because they can, and they know small interactions like these help EVERYBODY get through their days more smoothly, and that's why it means everything. I also got a free Lyft home since I was in the general area, and I also was QUICKLY able to get a rental for the few days my car was in service. Flawless execution on their part. The report detailing the issues of my car was thorough, clear, and most importantly, Justin was able to show full transparency verbally as well as helped walk me through the entire report and what was suggested we take care of this time. I can't stress enough the effort they put in in terms of customer service, and I'll have to take Justin's word for the ability of the mechanics, as it was nothing but high praise - and it shows! The car's running smoooOOOoth! It's funny, I had just found a good auto place near my old apartment, and was frustrated because I had to restart the process again trying to find an even remotely trustworthy place in my eyes now that we've moved, but here comes A+ Auto Repair to make my life a hell of a lot easier. Thank you to Justin, thank you to the rest of the office staff, thank you to the mechanics who took care of my car. I will absolutely be coming back for regular maintenance. The ONLY ONLY ONLY downside isn't even really a downside on my part, it's more so that I hope to God that they get a bigger office space for those guys, or even chairs!! They deserve it! Cubicles, even!! They are all around great workers who deserve all the business they got, and then some. Thank you, A+ Auto Repair!

So - what does your vehicle mean to you? For us with our beloved Australian Shepherd Mollie's 2014 Nissan Rogue, it is keeping her vehicle in tiptop operating condition so we can continue to take her to the beach numerous times throughout the week, making the interior of our Nissan a sandpit. She won't let us forget; she even drags one of our beach boots down the hallway as a reminder to us that we aren't moving fast enough to get to the beach. Because A+ Japanese Auto Repair did such an excellent job in diagnosing and repairing the issue with Mollie's Nissan Rogue (after the dealership was not able to reach a definitive diagnosis), we felt confident in taking our recently purchased non-Mollie/no sand 2023 Toyota RAV4 to have some work done on it. As always, the fine, very competent A+ Japanese Auto Repair staff and team did an outstanding job on our non-Mollie Toyota. We would not consider taking our vehicles anywhere else for service or repairs. Excellent work at reasonable prices! Mollie now has her vehicle that we are confident will last her for the remainder of her life, and we now have our alternate non-Mollie/no sand vehicle. Many thanks to Justin, Robert, Elaine, Albert, Cynthia, and everyone involved with performing such excellent work, and for being so welcoming to all of us (including Mollie).

I am a senior with many car years behind me. I have always taken my cars before to the dealers for service. This is my first experience outside that network and I couldn't have been more pleased. These guys are responsive, know what what they are doing, and on one item I had done half the cost of my bid from the dealers service. If I need repairs again, A1 will be my choice.

Everyone at this repair shop is wonderful and they are experts on great customer service. Elaine, Cynthia and Robert made my visit pleasant. They did an exemplary repair on my Nissan. The documentation of the problem and how they were going to fix it put my mind at ease. I will definitely go back for routine maintenance and any other needs for my car.

It's rare to receive service where you feel cared about. I was appreciative of the service end to end - easy to book, the people we met who helped us service our car were kind and open to our request for a maintenance inspection before we had our baby, the turn around was quick, and pick up with seamless. Weird to say, but can't wait to use this team again!
