They kept my car an extra 27 hours after I set an appointment and paid 490$ (for a single night after they towed my car) to get it back. They took my key and their driver was sent to Oakland and SF while I was meant to sit and wait. I wasn’t able to do anything the past two days because I’ve been waiting for them to return my car and my keys.
They gave me an appointment for 3pm on Saturday. They didn’t have my keys with my car so I couldn’t pick it up even after I paid. They told me they would return it yesterday afternoon. Again they told me they would return it at 2am this morning. Then I was told 11am today my car and keys would be returned only for them to again, not return my car. Every time the appointments came up, I called and I reached out multiple times before I got any kind of response. If you have the choice, do not work with this company.
After 12pm on Sunday I called multiple times before a man picked up and was incredibly rude to me. For context, the night before when they agreed to send my car at 11 AM rather than 2 AM, they had agreed to reimburse me $50 for the inconvenience. When they didn’t show up at 11 AM, I texted. When they didn’t respond, I called and texted at noon. When on the phone, the aforementioned male voice said they would come in the next 2 hours. They did not come in the next 2 hours. At 3:30pm I called and was told it was on the way. At 4:30pm I texted asking for an ETA. I did not get any response. At nearly 5pm I texted and began calling repeatedly. I was then told I would get my car at 5pm. I did not get my car at 5. I was then told I could get my car at 6pm. I did not get into my car until about 6:20pm.
This entire company is holy unprofessional; they have horrible customer service, horrible response time, they overcharge “services” to extract as much from customers as possible. The only compensation to all of my time wasted was one Uber and 100$ reimbursement. I paid them a net 390$ just to waste my weekend and play games with my livelihood. I wish I could give them a 0 star.
I wish I could put 0 stars. My car was towed (Friday) to their storage site at 2745 Spring St and I went to pick it up the next day (Saturday) and only after paying did they realize they took my car keys to SF/Oakland in a separate truck. Being that it was an inconvenience, they offered to Uber me to my next appointment for the day and return my car later that afternoon. At about 6pm on Saturday I called asking what the ETA was for my car before being told it would be dropped at 2am at the earliest. Given that it was a ridiculously late time, they offered to refund 50$ and come the next morning. When I suggested 7,8,9 or 10am, they said we should agree to 11am so “[I] can get some sleep.” In my ignorance, I trusted them and went to bed. I texted the next morning at 11am to coordinate the delivery but was ignored. I texted them again at noon but was ignored until I called. Only once they picked up, the male voice behind the line was incredibly rude and hung up on me after offering to refund another 50$ with another promise of delivery in 2 hours. 2 hours after noon is 2pm. I called at 3:30 and they informed me the driver was on the way. I live a maximum of 40, 50 in heavy traffic, away from the Redwood City location. I waited patiently until 4:30 before texting. At that point I was already fed up. I waited until about 5pm before texting again and calling. No response to either. Not until I called 8 times did I receive a text. Afterwards, they promised to return my car by 5pm and then again by 6pm. They have since stopped answering me and I have not yet received my car.

Excellent service. They guided me through the whole process and recovered for me a vehicle that had been driven to California from out of state unauthorized. Definitely recommend them if you find yourself needing a tow or recovery.

Reply: Of course, we are VISITORS by the family and friends of that tenant, who ALOWS park in that spot when it is not in use. I'm not using the spot as public parking, but you're not educated enough to read the CA laws. I parked at 5:15pm, and the call was at 5:35pm, but I see that from this scam, you’re surviving, affecting other people like me, who is a health provider for kids with autism, but I will not hesitate to move forward and place this under investigation.
BE CAREFUL with this scam. My car was illegally towed. The building manager has an agreement with this place (maybe for a commission), and they charged for a whole day when my car only stayed there for less than 10 minutes. My car wasn't blocking any entrance. This Hispanic lady was pretty mean. I'm pretty sure it is not regulated because they want the payment on Zelle to avoid paying taxes or because they are illegally working there.
Predatory towing occurs when tow trucks and companies use a “spotter” who calls the tow truck to initiate a tow. Although it is generally not illegal, it is often morally wrong.
“The California Vehicle Code outlines conditions for lawful towing from private property. Property owners or their agents must provide explicit authorization, except in situations like blocking an entrance or fire lane.”

This company towed my vehicle from a place I was having breakfast. I understand I missed the small posted sign up on the property that said some spaces were for a different business(that’s 100% my fault). However I got in contact with this company before vehicle even made it to their yard. It cost me $572 to get my vehicle back. Again even though it was my wrong for parking where I did. The prices they got going are insane. Just outrageously wrong in any way possible.
I’ve been coming here for a couple years to get my car serviced and they are great! They always answer the phone and are flexible with hours, and Cesar provides a great and professional service.

My car suddenly broke this morning, I called Bay Area Autoworks to help out with the situation. They immediately picked up the phone and quickly arranged a driver who arrived within 20min. They were also very patient with all of my questions since this is the first time I’m running into this situation. The driver was super friendly and got really good skills too. I was initially worried because my car got a pretty low front lip. The driver was super careful when setting up the hooks for pulling my car onto the towing truck and took care of every detail carefully. Everything went smoothly and my car was delivered to the dealership for repair safe and sound. I really appreciate the professional and efficient help they provided that truly saved my day!
The service is always great! I take my car there for regular maintenance, prices are pretty competitive and the service is great. They’re very attentive and they go out of their way to make sure that I am taken care of every time I come in. It’s a one stop shop, they always fix my dents too and the tires were at a great price! I really recommend a shop for all your car needs.
This company took my car from where I was having lunch and they really taking advantage and they are charging more than $700 to get my car back . I just parked there for 5 minutes the moment I check on my car it wasn’t there anymore . They were already waiting for someone to come tu eat to that restaurant and park i called the company right away the guy put me on hold for 20 minutes…. I want to know where my car is and they don’t give me an address they probably don’t know where my car is … why this company is charging elevated price I don’t even have that kind of money they’re crazy want to take advantage of the situation… taking easy money from the people….i hope one they they get there car towed and they change them doble so they can feel how we feel … fine a real job … you like easy money and take advantage that all you want This people took money from a woman that works hard for her family and they were probably happy getting the money they probably think they getting rich but they not only charge you a lot they take your car if you are nit able to pay de fees then they sell it … this is all about money I hope you realize one day what your doing is stealing money and cars from people that works hard … you’re taking advantage… and you are insane on what your changing …. Cesear and Sandra run a great shop. Only place we trust in Bay Area. We first went to them when we had a tire blowout incident and the dealer’s quote was more than twice that of Cesear’s. He fixed the car without issue. We have since been going to them for maintenance. When we bought a used car we ensured we had Cesear check it out.
Overall, Cesear has painted our vehicles, replaced an audio system to install carplay, done brakes (and he backs-up his work!), transmission cleaning, and more. And all were done very well at a competitive price.
Sandra is always kind to my son. They are easy to get in contact with. Overall just a phenomenal place I would recommend to family or friends.
Super happy with Caesar, Sandra and the crew at Bay Area Autoworks! They found a great low miles engine for my Toyota Landcruiser and installed it quickly and at a great price. They replaced the seals and double checked everything and it is running better than ever. They are the nicest folks and did everything they could to make me happy. I called Cesar from Bay Area Autoworks on New Year's Night after an accident with my car on the 92 highway coming from Half Moon Bay. Cesar was quick to respond to my call with details after I provided him my location and he event sent status update with ETA. He got to my location fast which was a godsend because these are very cold winter nights in the bay area and I was in the middle of nowhere. Once he arrived, he quickly hooked up the car and we were on our way to his shop in Redwood City where the car would be stored awaiting next steps from my insurance. He even gave us a ride back home which was really nice. Overall Cesar was very communicative and professional at his job but at the same time personable. I'd highly recommend calling Cesar from Bay Area Autoworks for all your towing and auto service needs in the Bay Area.
