Had a good experience getting my car towed. They took care to line up the low front bumper so it didn’t scrape, and did the same and eased it off the bed while unloading.

Called for a flat tire, the driver arrived after an hour and half and as it was raining he said that his jack was broken I said that I have a jack and he said that he would not provide the service and left. His name is Jairo, very rude and aggressive tone.
Jose did an OUTSTANDING job with my call. He also explained concerns with my battery and how changes with car technology impacts battery use. VERY engaging & customer oriented!!!
Very disrespectful dispatcher. Already waited 2+ hours for the tow, so decided to tall them and ask where they were at. Whole time, we were respectful and did not say anything rude. The dispatcher then threatened saying, “Okay, want me to cancel the tow now?” from asking a simple question. Very rude and disgusting.
Here’s the best part: They never arrived. Waited 3 hours for nothing. Most plausible reason is because the dispatcher was in a such a petty mood and secretly canceled the tow after hanging up.
Ended up having to get a completely different tow company after a great amount of time was wasted.
The accelerator cable snapped on my 1966 Beetle on the on ramp entry in Millbrae to the 101 freeway. Raul from Action Towing was dispatched and arrived to my rescue in no time he made sure my 7 year old and I were safe in the cab before he secured the car. A second tow truck miraculously appeared to back us up. It was a great relief to feel safe in your hands. Kuddos to Raul and your amazing team.
On July 15th, 2025 around 5:00 PM, I encountered a driver from Action Towing (CA license plate 32882S1) while driving through Los Banos, CA. The driver was extremely aggressive and reckless—tailgating my vehicle within inches, swerving toward my lane as if trying to cause a collision, and repeatedly cutting me off. It felt deliberate and intimidating, possibly due to a political bumper sticker on my car.
I called the police to report his erratic and dangerous behavior. As he exited, he made obscene hand gestures that were not only unprofessional but completely inappropriate and threatening.
I would strongly caution others against using this company. If this is the kind of person they trust behind the wheel, it raises serious concerns about their hiring practices and safety standards.
I highly recommend Action Towing and the excellent service provided by Gabe S.! I was in a bind where my car was sandwiched between parked cars. Gabe S. from this company went above and beyond what a typical towing service would do. It was later in the evening, he was selfless to put my needs first. He posted my stalled car with all of his body, the car moved slowing but surely. We had to go back and forth so many times. He was very professional, courteous, and experienced. Finally after many attempts & some clever strategies, we got my cat on his flatbed! He truly exemplifies superior customer service. I highly recommend Action Towing. Thank you Gabe!
We worked with Jose (one of the owners) and his team through AAA. We had a dead battery and they came quickly, and efficiently tested and switched out our 7-year old battery. We also enjoyed friendly conversation with Jose while his team worked on our vehicle.
HORRIBLE experience - careless damage, expired insurance, lies, and no accountability.
I used Action Towing and it was a nightmare from the moment Alfredo arrived. When dropping off my car, he removed the straps, tilted the bed without securing the front, and let my car roll off and crash into another vehicle. He didn't hook up the winch, didn't use the e-brake correctly, and there was slippery fluid on the bed.
It was completely unsafe and reckless. After the damage, Alfredo casually shrugged it off, didn't apologize, I said I was gonna call the police and he told me the police wouldn't show up anyway. He even tried to convince me not to call them and refused to leave a note on the car he hit. Completely unprofessional and shady behavior.
It gets worse - **they were operating with expired insurance. Yes, EXPIRED. I had to do all the legwork, chase them down for weeks, and involve AAA to even get a response. Tony, the so-called manager, promised to "make it right," then ghosted me, dodged calls, and left me hanging.
I've spent weeks dealing with this mess. Action Towing showed zero responsibility, no customer service, and downright shady practices. This whole thing could've been avoided if their drivers knew what they were doing and if the company operated legitimately. Watching how Alfredo mishandled my car and avoided taking responsibility, I can't help but question whether he's even properly licensed.
STAY AWAY from Action Towing. This company does not care about your safety, your time, or your car.
My F550 box truck broke down, and they saved the day. Very reasonable price for towing big vehicles. Friendly, and probably the fastest I've ever had a tow truck show up. They were there within an hour of calling.
We were at the Belmont farmer's market and my wife's car decided it no longer wanted to start and was giving a confusing message about the parking brake being on. Doc was driving by and saw the hood opened up, offered his assistance, and got us up and running in a few minutes flat. Turns out the issue was a dead battery and he even taught me how to jump start it (I was confused because the battery is in trunk, but trunk cannot be opened when battery is dead). Thank you Doc!!!
A gentleman named Doc came out to test and replaced the battery in my RV. Other tow truck drivers have had difficulty doing this, it was like second nature to Doc. He got the RV started, tested the battery, replaced the battery, and clarified a question for me I had about charging the RV during the winter. He was so nice and also very professional. Kudos to Doc for doing an excellent job!
About a week ago I was in a real pickle I was doing laundry in San Carlos and I took my RV and it wouldn't start. I was terrified of the cost, I was terrified of how this is going to go down,I was so stressed out, having a bad day. I talked to the nicest dispatcher I think I've ever spoke with in my life. She calmed me down and made me feel so comfortable and it was going to be okay. I can't even begin to tell you how it made everything better. They sent a driver to give me a jump and it wouldn't jump because it was getting no power. So they immediately sent over a driver in a big truck, which I was terrified! I've never had my RV towed before. It's not just my vehicle, its my everything, my home and everything I own. It went so very smoothly and everybody was so kind. They made a very messed up situation comfortable and the cost was not what I expected. I was just freaking out! I mean I didn't have to be towed very far so I was lucky. Everybody was so nice and I am so pleased! I would totally use them again anytime and I recommend them highly. Thank you so much for being so awesome. Life's already hard enough as it is and being in an RV everything is 10 times more expensive, but you made it pretty painless and I'm so grateful. Thank you so much,! Did I mention how nice the drivers were I know I spoke about the dispatcher but the drivers were both so sweet I can't even tell you. It was an awesome experience. Oh I almost forgot to mention I have two cats that live with me in my RV and I was so worried. They are all I have and love them like my children. On top of everything, they were so mindful and assured me they would be fine. I can't believe how easy it was and how professional they were and my cats weren't stressed so that even made it better. So thank you again! It means everything. Did I mention my RV is 32 feet long? Omg. We were hooked up and on our way in 30 min! So cool! Oh and just so you know my RV was fine I accidentally bumped a main switch and didn't realize it when I was bringing my laundry in and I didn't even check that. I feel so stupid because that should have been the first thing I should have looked at! I had no power! So I didn't even really need a tow actually! It was my stupidity! They were still so professional it was awesome.
This site is definitely scam and has problems, everyone should know this.
They charged me $510($340 towing fee + $170 gate fee) for 1.5 miles towing, and I picked up my car within less than an hour. There are two things: First, the California law said no more than $160 for towing fee. But the one said $340 is coming from Redwood Policy Department. I can not find anything about that, I will call to confirm. Second, the gate fee shows on the price is $135, but they charged me $170, they said this hasn’t updated yet. This is for sure SCAM. They can charge any money they want.
Anyone has similar experience, please thumb up this comment and let more people to know this. I will definitely talk with my attorney on this and sue it. I will also reach out city about this site.
Recently, I had a family member at the hospital for cardiac surgery. I was going to pick up and return with lunch for my family while we waited. Ended up getting nowhere because I had a flat tire and my car had to be towed. Great place to get a flat tire (hospital), and great timing (when is getting a flat ever convenient?). Kevin from Action Towing was dispatched to my call. Dealing with Kevin took all the stress away regarding logistics - because it had already been a very long and stressful day. He was so understanding, very pleasant and easy to work with. I had the car towed to a local tire store. He delivered the car, the key and then confirmed with me that everything had been taken care of. This helped me so much, because I did not have to leave my family, and was able to stay close to the hospital, while awaiting news on my family member. THANK YOU to the dispatcher for confirming my safety, my location and arrival status, and especially to Kevin.
My car battery died and sent out a service request for help through AAA. The original ETA was 45 min but they got there within 30 min. Jose was incredibly helpful and nice to work with. He ran diagnostics and showed me the report as it happened. I was given the option of jumping the car or he is a 'one stop shop' where he could put in a new battery for me. Hell yah! He replaced my battery and took the old one for $221. It has a 3 year warranty through AAA so if anything happens they will change it out for free. I may have paid more than taking it into a shop but it's worth every penny for the convenience. Plus, Jose was so awesome that I felt very comfortable with him taking over. I drove away without any worries. Thank you so much!
I am giving this company 1 star because they overcharged me $100. I called them and they absolutely arrived promptly. I have never had a tow truck company tell me that I can't ride in their tow truck to accompany my vehicle but this company did. I didn't understand why until my Mechanic called me exactly 30 minutes after they had driven off with my car without me. I already knew for certain that the ride to the auto repair shop was exactly 30 minutes because I drive to that area frequently. Everyday in fact. 30 minutes to drop the vehicle off and 30 minutes back to Redwood City. Port to Port 1 hour like the dispatcher said on the phone. I was told that the cost is $195 per hour. I was charged exactly $300. Because they charged my card before the trip started and refused to allow me to ride with them to monitor the actual time used for the service. I don't want to call to ask for a refund because the driver kept insisting that I call myself a ride or call myself an Uber. And he clearly doesn't know my personal circumstances as to why I can't or won't. But his lack of knowledge prompted him to insist that I take an Uber which actually left me with no alternative except to take public transportation which took me 3 hours. He did attempt to provide a ride except that when the ride arrived there was only one seat and the driver was aware that my daughter was with me. So he suggested that either I leave my daughter there alone or I stay there alone. Thank God my other daughter was somewhere else safe. The suggestion of splitting me and my daughter up so that one of us females would ride in a car alone with an unfamiliar male kinda concerned both myself and the daughter with me as well as the daughter we called and told about the situation. This was a very disturbing situation and I would never call these people again nor would I recommend them to anyone in the future.
On Friday, December 1,2023 at 2:28PM, I called AAA for service regarding my dead battery. Surprisingly on a Friday afternoon, the wait was minimal. My service # was 37396. I have tried to contact the owner or supervisor in charge but never received a call back. Unfortunately I do not know the driver’s name. If I could have given him 10 stars I would. He was courteous, knowledgeable, respectful and extremely helpful. He knew exactly what the problem was and gave me excellent advice. This driver is an asset to your company and should definitely be acknowledged. Please thank him from me & tell him he was correct in his judgement, it was my alternator!

Many thanks to action towing who came out to my property at 4 a.m. to recover both my stuck F-150 and the stuck towtruck from Ellison towing who AAA had originally sent to my house. Unlike Ellison they actually have the gear to recover vehicles stuck offroad. 5 stars.
They broke my control arm while towing my car! Called triple a who sent them. All i had was a flat tire. After picking up my car from tire shop almost got in a wreck it was so badly damaged. Horrible company from top to bottom. Cost me over 1000$ they refuse to pay or admit their mistakes.
Tow trucks for this company regularly block the sidewalk, bicycle lane, and the center turn-only lane, even to the point of preventing turns onto E Street. The fact that this business cannot properly store their trucks should not be taken out on the surrounding community.
