Let me start this by saying that the owner of Jdm tried to strong arm me by trying to get me to sign a document that said that if I got my refund I would not be able to write a bad review which led me to do a charge back with the bank. I bought a Subaru engine from JDM of San Diego Inc. — no receipt, no serial numbers, no proof of the “compression test” they promised. JDM doesn’t do the work; they sent me to Uribes Brothers Racing (run by Miguel), which at the time was operating without a valid license from the California Bureau of Automotive Repair. They installed a motor swap that was never going to work because of incompatible internal parts (Japanese U-shaped cam sprockets) and, without my authorization, opened my block and left me with a Frankenstein motor built with parts JDM supplied. The first motor failed, the second still doesn’t run right, and both JDM and the shop were rude, unprofessional, and refused to refund my money — even after the California Bureau of Automotive Repair got involved. I had to go through my bank with a chargeback just to recover part of my loss. Subaru owners, beware.
After another jdm engine warehouse not honoring their price on their website I called Russel at jdm of San diego he helped me out by giving me a discount on the exact motor I was supposed to get from the other place jdm westside, Russelwas fast,courteous and efficient transaction went smooth also bought a box of oil he has on sale for a very good price if you guys need a motor or transmission dont hesitate to hit him up thanks Russel from jdm of sd

First of all this places has the best pricing hands down and free pick up!! Cmon no brainer to save $$$ in this economy. He even held the transmission in his inventory for a month without any surcharges which I feel most places do. This company is scam,I bought a tacoma engine for $3,600 , it’s a cheap engine made in china and there’s a scratches in some parts,they want to replace with the same engine the same depicted engine,so l just want my money back. They just give me $ 2490 they charge me shipping, and 20 percent restocking fee ,total $1110 less of the money they charge me.

Horrible experience they sent two transmission and both we not good I called Rene and the person in charge all they said is I needed my invoice of payment that I never received the part was delivered to my mechanic who never received anything only paid the part. I don’t recommend this location I will also share my experience with my radio friends so they never go to this facility again. They have no respect for their customer and always lying about their products. Save your money and go some where else better.
received 2zr-fxe motor and it was exactly as described. turned over perfectly, cross hatching on the bores were in excellent condition, pistons in great condition, no leaks, no varnish, valvetrain in near perfect condition. And a fair price. I would buy here again and highly recommend them considering these days its hard to come by good used motors

Im a shop owner of A&R Auto and Diesel LLC in Yuma AZ. Its essential to me to find GOOD tested engines at a great price for my customers. That being said, I had a deadline and I don't have time to take chances only for an engine to not work properly. Its a waste of my time and my customers time.

Best service. I asked called wasn't sure if this engine could fit my prius. Well not a problem when you're dealing with Russell or Jake over the course of 3 days coordinating my mechanic to pick uo the engine while I'm at work. The guys are accurate (i tested them) they passed with flying colors. So in the end smooth transaction and basically a new engine with low miles! My car is going to last. Thank you guys.

Easy to purchase engines here. I showed up in the morning as they were opening up. I was told to back up to the loading dock up against the building doors. It was placed in my truck bed via forklift. I tied it down and went inside to pay and off I went. I found it all very convenient. Maybe others have had other experiences. Now I just hope the engine is good:)
What an awesome experience dealing with Joseph on the phone and then with Russell in person. He sold me an sweet engine with only 27k miles and a great transmission. These guys are top notch, friendly and easy to deal with. I'll buy from the any time.
I worked with Jay at JDM. Great customer service! Initially, the driver delivered the wrong engine and made up some excuse that this was my engine even though the serial number did not match my invoice. However, Jay offered to provide a replacement engine on their next shipment which caused my install project to be delayed by about week. I received the JDM motor which at first looked a bit rusty on the outside, but overall looked good based on my mechanics inputs (i.e., no metal in oil or obvious leaks in any seals). Had my mechanic install the JDM engine in my '01 Tacoma truck and after install, the truck started and roared like a new engine. Ran the car for over 100 miles after replacing the engine with no issues! I am a very satisfied customer and recommend JDM San Diego to anyone looking for a Japanese replacement engine with less than 60k miles.
