I went out of my way to handle problems that should have never existed in the first place. The transmission I received had pre-existing damage, including a broken shift linkage and a broken mounting bracket, which later caused internal damage and made the unit unusable.
Instead of immediately demanding a replacement, I spent my own money, my own time, and my own labor trying to fix their mistakes to keep things moving. Fluids, labor, teardown, inspection — all out of my pocket. I did this in good faith, trying to help both sides.
And this is how I was treated.
They refused responsibility, tried to shift blame elsewhere despite clear evidence the transmission was already damaged, and completely ignored the effort and cost I absorbed to clean up their mess. I’ve also been trying to reach the manager for weeks, with no response.
This situation cost me real money, real time, and left my customer waiting — all because I trusted a seller who wouldn’t stand behind their product. Spending your own money to fix their screw-ups just gets used against you here.
Completely unacceptable.

purchased a transmission from this company with a 90-day warranty. When it arrived, the oil pan was broken.
So i decided to use my old oil pan.
After installing the transmission, it turned out to be defective. We removed transmission and returned it using my original oil pan.
Despite this, they refused to refund my money and claimed the warranty was void because the oil pan had been opened. This excuse makes no sense—opening the oil pan is necessary to add transmission fluid and complete installation.
I do not recommend buying a transmission from this company. They look for excuses to avoid honoring their warranty and issuing refunds.
I was excited to have found this place as it seemed they would have parts I would need for my vehicle. I arrived and spoke to the manager on duty about a wheel I needed for my vehicle. I ask him what the procedure is and he tells me the wheel costs $100 + a $25 core charge and that it comes with the tire included. I was happy with that. I then ask him if I can pay for a warranty like many other salvage yards offer in this area. He says that they do not offer warranty on used parts as it is a liability so I then ask him if they offer warranty on any parts in the establishment as it is all used. He says that they do offer warranty on other used parts just not wheels. I then ask him if I can take a look at the wheel to make sure it is in good condition and it has no cracks. He tells me that I have to pay for the wheel beforehand and that all sales are final. I will not be spending my hard earned money without a warranty that I would have paid extra for or at least the option to take a look at the item and make sure it is in good condition before paying. I am not sure what type of business is being run here but that is not the proper way to treat a customer or run an honest business that is not trying to take advantage of people. Good luck.
Side note: I asked the same manager about the possibility of buying a better tire as the one on the wheel was very bad. He said he could do that for $25-40. I then asked if he could instead just remove the tire for me since I have one I could use. He said he could not. Great customer service here.
Price is great, Even though I don’t leave in the same state, They managed to ship it to me. Make sure you talk to Junior. He’ll get everything sorted for you. It’s definitely Worth contacting them they most likely have your part

You know, having to buy parts for your car, body or otherwise can often be a pretty stressful experience; making sure its the right part, communicating with the company or people you're buying from, hoping the prices are fair, etcetera, etcetera!
Well I can honestly say that from the very first interaction with Montoya's, Junior answered the phone, answered my questions, was knowledgeable, gave fair pricing and even went so far as to furnish a quote while on the phone!
When I arrived to get the parts, everyone was super helpful and I HIGHLY recommend them if you need parts at a reasonable price!

I recently searched online for a replacement part for my Mercedes-Benz. After calling multiple places in San Diego without success, I learned that the rear door window is referred to as a “vent,” not a “quarter window.” JR was the only one who took the time to understand exactly which part I needed. He patiently clarified that I had been searching for the wrong part all along. I called in the morning and arrived in the afternoon; he greeted me warmly (remembering my name) and sold me the correct part. I paid them to change the engine of my 2011 Toyota Prius. They changed it and gave me a 3-month warranty. After two weeks, the engine started having problems. I told them that the engine had a problem and that I needed to change it. They charged me $600 to put another engine in for me. I told them to give me the engine and that I would put it somewhere else. They accepted it and said that they would send the engine to me. Three days passed and they didn't send the engine. I called them to find out what happened.
They told me that the engine was ready and that I could come and pick it up tomorrow morning. When I went to pick it up, the engine wasn't ready. They treated me badly. They said that I was wasting my time. I came here early.
I was waiting to write this review after buying an engine and getting it installed in my Subaru by this junkyard now that it’s been a month I can say this was a great work & service! I appreciate the Montoya team! Was an easy process. Will forsure be going back
I drove about 1 hour to pick up a part that I was told over the phone that it was "insurance quality." Surprisingly it was not insurance quality and damaged with trim broken and deep scratches. Not even five minutes after purchasing without being able to look at the part thoroughly and part still on the car I was told that I could not get my money back. The representative was of no help and couldn't care less about the situation saying ! could not get cash back and it would be at least 25% restocking fee, eventhough the part is still on the car. After having to wait about 30 minutes for the part the mechanic who took it off the car damaged it even more. It's unfortunate that such a business deals with customers in such a disrespectful manner.

We were treated well from our first visit when we checked to see if there was a replacement engine for our 2015 Honda.
