I've purchased 8 cars through Abetterbid over the last few years. I've never caused a problem. I've always paid in full, no delay. I've been a good customer for them. Back in October 2025, while thumbing through the live auction to see the car I was planning on buying, I accidentally touched the bid button on a random car. Total accident. I wasn't watching the car. I had no interest in the car (2017 Ford Focus). It wasn't even in California. I only purchase California cars. Total thumb accident. It was a car no one was bidding on, so I won the auction.
I immediately contacted customer support and explained the situation. They said there was nothing they could do; and they wanted me to pay for the vehicle or they would levy a penalty fee of $1200! and keep my $600 deposit! I called and emailed several more times asking for "customer service" help. I mean, I've purchased 8 cars through them! They were completely unsympathetic and they refused to do anything. They said, Pay $1200 to get back my $600!!
Well needless to say, this ordeal has blocked me from using Abetterbid to buy cars, because of their ridiculous policy.
They need to do..."better" for their customers.
Purchased a vehicle in which the misrepresented the title status, this was only weeks after receiving the car. Reached out to customer service to discuss and was not supported. Resulted in additional action needing to be taken. I was a repeat customer and over all enjoyed my experiences but this one takes the cake. I would avoid them at all cost!!!!
DO NO USE THIS COMPANY
So i buy a car on their website, its clean title and a steal. While the car is crashed its clean title value is far surpassing any money id put into it for said repairs. Emphasis on the clean title aspect.
I receive the car, and i rebuild the car as it was crashed. 4 weeks later after all repairs are finished and the car is in sale condition they reach out and mention “ hey the title is no clean its rebuilt, do you wanna keep it “ clearly im in a bad position because they misrepresented the title, and i spent thousands repairing this car under the guise ill make clean title money on it. I ask to keep the car plus compensation for the misleading listing. They offer 500$, which i personally was offended by. I filed a court case for an undisclosed amount but what i was owed based on market values and repairs. After this they were served at filed no response. I now have a default judgement in which case they still refuse to compensate so i will be domesticating the case in florida and garnishing their bank accounts. As a buyer you have power, just use your brain. I will get the amount i want regardless of their lack of care or understanding. DO NO USE THIS COMPANY EVER. They finally just sent my title after roughly 2 months ( past the legal threshold)
This site is extremely fraudulent and unfair. They have been holding thousands from me plus I got all kinds of made up expenses. Be ready to go back and forward with them with no real results or money back. Pretty much a legal extortion and fraud scheme. I am sure they got bots giving them more stars than they deserve in the rating. I don't know why they haven't been raided since this is the home of the free and the land of the brave. Is a guarantee your family will be missing a few hundred thousand bucks not fair in today's bad economy no patriotic sense what's so ever it is a value less company I would recommend just buying a car personally no deposits your are going to be so pissed and upset making business with them
What an absolute nightmare! Trying to get my $400 deposit back was a complete headache from start to finish. They make everything as difficult as possible, dragging out the process and giving you the runaround at every turn. And just when you think you’re finally getting your money back, here come the hidden fees they never bother to mention upfront. Dispute with your bank you will win document everything!!!
The whole thing feels like after-auction bait-and-switch behavior from a shady company that hopes you’ll just give up. Terrible experience overall — I wouldn’t recommend dealing with them to anyone. Beware of them don’t waste your time or money!!
I wasn’t sure what to expect from an auction platform, but everything worked out smoothly. The deposit terms were clear upfront, and mine was returned without delay. I highly recommend.
There are convenient calculators on their website, which makes it even easier for mr to check all the fees, and everything is pretty transparent with them if you read the terms carefully. It is great to work with them!
My mother passed away there's a $400 deposit they want I think $1200 to get the deposit back for a truck she never got on top of it the truck was sold for I don't know how much basically they charge double. They told me after I explained numerous times my mom died the day of the auction and I think that due to these circumstances they should return her deposit that would be a nice thing to do instead they tell me bacically to pay her invoice that's $1200 for a truck that was sold to another buyer to get $400 back I DONT THINK SO and they also got the money from the other person that bought the truck and who has the truck don't think so

FAQ has information that is false. THEY LIE TO THE CUSTOMER. FAQ will say once thing only for them to revoke it in terms and conditions. They mentioned California residents don’t pay sales tax due to it already being paid in the purchase of the vehicle. THIS IS NOT TRUE. Slimy business practices. Borderline scammy behavior.
Beware! This company is a scam. They have hidden fees and costs. Once you arrange the transportation they will delay getting the code to pick it up. This resulted in a cancelation of my transportation and storage fees. I am surprised this company is in business. If you want a $200 car to cost you about $3,000 consider using this company.
These guys are legit! Used their car auction service and it was honestly super smooth from start to finish. Didn't end up buying a car this time around, but they still gave my deposit back right away. That level of transparency and trust is rare. Totally recommend them if you're looking for a solid , no-stress car buying experience.

My salvage car was delivered the same day we agreed on, in a perfect condition, and I was so happy to see what I got. I wish I had not wasted time with other car auctions before as they are truly the best.

I’m currently calling Copart and A better bid , I just won a car from Copart adelanto and they are charging me 390 to tow it 24 miles. Apparently I cannnot pick it up myself because they want to extort more money from the sale. I haven’t paid the invoice but if I don’t they will hijack my deposit money. I paid throw my credit card so I will contact my credit card company and file a fraud claim. But non the less these people are not helping their customers. There was a lady with a heavy Russian accent who literally said I have to get Copart to send them a request to ship. Copart on the other hand say that they can’t send a request to ship because they are a third party broker. So if I pay my invoice it’s 1400 and I still don’t know if I’m getting shafted for the 400 to tow it to my home

Price gouging and poor customer service. No only do they do as little as possible to help you make arrangements to have your car checked (even when you're coming from out of state) but they were going to send my car to me from Vegas to California for $1190 (reasonable) considering my flight to Vegas was $225 (from San Diego) but they forced to to use their towing service (claiming I'm not allowed to pick up my car from Copart) then charged me $392 for 7 miles of towing to my mechanic. Definitely an unethical organization.
Happy with my vehicle purchase from ABB. The site is user-friendly, and I found a car within my budget. The descriptions are accurate and explicit, the calculators helped me understand the interest rates. Got what I expected.
Do yourself a favor and stay away from this website. I ended up winning a 2003 350Z for 3800 dollars and the total amount came up to 6800 dollars after all the fees. They charged me extra for the driver doing more work when I spoke with the driver and he never even got the car in his trailer. Then I was being charged some other fees for storage of my car when my car was sitting on my driveway. After going back and forth with these people and getting 5 different answers I decided to pay the fees and just move.
