Pulled me out of the snow in this most recent snowstorm. Everyone else I called was rude and told me I was on my own. This company came quick, and got me out for a good price (not that I much of a choice haha).
was off-roading up in Polique Canyon to catch the sunset with some friends. i broke my front drive shaft last week and the new one is finally arriving tomorrow so i got stuck here without 4x4. got my front left tire stuck in a hole so my rear right tire ended up off the ground and would spin freely (damn you open dif). tried a bunch of things with my friends but couldn’t get the truck to budge. that’s when i gave these guys a call, explained my situation and texted them my gps coordinates from google maps. eta was a little more than stated but that isn’t anything i’d complain about. the older gentleman that came out was friendly and got me out in less than 5 minutes. reasonably priced (thought it’d be more lol) and even gave me a little discount since i just needed to be winched out! savings these guys in my contact list for the next time!
Steve went a long distance out of his way and saved us (also checked to be sure we were ok in the heat of the desert). We'd been stuck a day and night trying all manner of things to recover ourselves (no serious anchor points to winch to in the desert, etc.) when he arrived he got after it, jacking up the axel, popping on a bead, plugging a hole, digging out a hitch, rigging traction boards as ramps, connecting a tow strap, then, he unstuck one-stuck truck.
I have so many great things to say about the amazing service my family and I received from the owner and Justin at B.B.O.R.R. My family and I, a total of 5 of us, got a tire chain issue problem coming down the mountain, it was raining, icy snow road and the tire chain problem made my car stopped working due to break electronic issues. After having unsuccessful calls with other companies to help us due to current weather conditions and being afraid of our safety specially our kids safety since our car was just parked on the side road going down the mountain, I then decided to look on Yelp and found this company Big Bear Off Road Recovery, as soon as I called and explained my situation, the owner who answered my call didn't hesitate to send someone to help us even though they were pretty busy he sent someone to not just help with my car but to help all of us, I believe he truly understood my safety concern of our kids. I was crying internally of happiness. Justin came in 15mns, my family and I were so relieved to see him, he came in a huge SUV, all of my family fit and also our luggage since we were coming back from a weekend vacation at Big Bear. Justin brought us safely down the mountain and even drove us all the way to our home in Los Angeles. I'm so grateful to the owner and Justin, they were our Angels. Their price was reasonable for all they did for us. I told my story to my friends and family and definitely referring Big Bear off Road Recovery to them if they ever run into any car trouble at Big Bear. May God always protect these Angels of the road, wishing them the best!
The owner of the business did a great job at recovering my Jeep when a suspension component was stuck on a rock, leaving 3 of my tires spinning freely off the ground. Prices are also good. Definitely recommend!
Steve and Austin were great! I needed chains during the last blizzard and they delivered right away on late notice because we had to leave big bear the next morning. They offered to install the chains for free and knocked it out quickly and sold them at a very fair price. Honorable business they're running. Thanks Gentlemen!
Steve is an actual hero. Our car battery died on CA-38, and he brought us a new one in the middle of the night, installed it, and diagnosed us with a faulty alternator. Knowing the new battery would be drained quickly without a functioning alternator, he then escorted us all of the way to our cabin in Big Bear to make sure we got there safely. This was all after we had been on the phone with AAA for hours and they were completely useless. Don’t call AAA - do call Steve.

Austin is the man! Got stuck on a hill in Big Bear this past Monday - brought me chains pulled me up the hill! Triple A left me hanging but Austin was on site 10 min after calling and helped me out big time.
Steve was great! We got our Jeep stuck in quicksand-like mud in the Santa Ana riverbed area behind the Seven Oaks Dam. After trying to dig it out ourselves (we snapped our winch cable so we had limited options) for more than 8 hours over night, we decided we needed professional help. We called Steve at 7am on a Saturday morning. Steve came right out and met us at the trail head. We rode with him about an hour down the trail back to the Jeep. Once we got there, he had us out in 5 minutes. We couldn't ask for better service. His fees are very reasonable and he was great to talk to along the way. We will recommend Steve and his Big Bear Off Road Recovery company to anyone who asks. Thanks Steve!
Honestly I might still be stuck in the mountains if not for Steve. We got stuck on some mud roads in San Bernardino Mountains and it was raining. I couldn’t have gotten down with out him and I would have had to stay the night up if not for his service. He guided me down the mountain, pulling me when he had to and explaining to me how to drive through the deep trenches of mud on the path. It was a really intense towing experience and I wouldn’t have wanted anyone else but Steve to be there for us.
