I was in the Toyota center late December 2019. At the time, there was an active recall on my paint along with another recall that I went in to fix but no one told me about the paint. I then started getting notices on another recall (the one I just recently went in to get corrected) but never received any notice about the recalled paint so I missed the recall period. I understand it has expired but my paint is chipping horribly and looks terrible. There shouldn't be an expiration on recalled paint since Toyota gave me a car with paint that wouldn't last. I've always been a strong advocate for Toyota and have tried to convince my husband to trade in his jaguar for a Toyota because I felt the service was unmatched. This has left such a sour taste in my mouth about Toyota and I probably will look elsewhere for my next car. The recommended partner the staff gave me for repair quoted me 10k to fix the paint and I'm certainly not going to pay that on a car that's not even worth that amount anymore. This car sits in front of my driveway and when asked about the paint I'm going to be honest about how Toyota handled this recall. I’d recommend asking if there’s any active recalls even on cosmetic issues EVERY time you go in.

I came in for a routine maintenance visit. They open early in the morning, which was really convenient for my schedule. The staff was friendly and polite, and everything went smoothly. Overall, a good and easy experience.

I got a request to write about my recent experience with AutoNation Toyota Irvine. I have a current review posted that has been revised, and 3star rating. I will stay with this 3 star rating. The hard aggressive sell by the finance guy for a $4k extended warranty was aggravating, to say the least. I will give a full 5 star rating for the sales department for always being professional, courteous, and attentive. AutoNation has NEVER been a hard sell dealership and that is why we have repeatedly returned, time after time after time. We may, however, consider trying another dealership because of this.

Beware. The service advisor Israr is untrustworthy and I had a very bad experience here. I came here only because I was in the Irvine area. I had purchased a Toyota maintenance package with 3 oil changes and 5 tire rotations from my regular Toyota, with one remaining of each. I asked for an oil change and tire rotation. At first, Israr tells me a tire rotation is not included in my package. Then I insisted that it is and he then checked again and confirmed that it is. Upon pickup, on my paperwork I see that only an oil change was done with no mention on the papers anywhere of a tire rotation having been done. I bring it up and then he says it actually was done, which is a flat-out lie. It was not documented anywhere and these dealerships document everything. Then when I went to my regular Toyota dealership 6 days later to get my tire rotation situation fixed, they report that Irvine Toyota had already billed for both the oil change and tire rotation. So this experience was full of red flags and lies, plus all the services he was trying to say my car needed, and not to mention the 2% fee they charge to use credit card at Irvine Toyota which is a total scam at the dealership level. Would not come here again and would advise to not trust this dealership with your vehicle. They might say they did something that they actually didn’t, and then you pay the price with an accident/your life.

The service was good I really appreciated Ms Natasha who coordinated the work done on my Camry Hybrid. She explained the work needed very well, got the shuttle to get me home and back. The work on my car took around 8 hrs which seemed a long time. I am satisfied and hope the problem with electric battery runnig out, will be fixed by using a trickle charger?

Received a call asking me to come in for my complimentary 5K/6 month service on my '25 Prius (car only had 2.5 k miles on it). Tires rotated and a multi point inspection done. They found the 12V battery wasn't holding a charge and was replaced for free. The car was washed and ready for me in about 1.5 hours. This was a great experience.

The car deals are only good for manufacturing warranty and recalls, but definitely not for routine maintenance due to their pricy labor and parts. I had few experiences that I needed to go back the dealers for their workmanship issues.

I had catastrophic issues with my prius and thought I was doomed when speaking with another Toyota dealership. I ended up speaking with Gilbert, with his help and the help of his Master Technician they literally saved me THOUSANDS of dollars! Not only that, they walked me through the whole process, let me pick up my car after service business hours in the Sales department. The manager Mike assisted with that and was also great to deal with. Im going to continue bringing my car here for service with full confidence and will buy my next Toyota here too! All around great experience with great people and got a free car wash!

I came in for my first 5,000-mile checkup and was checked in promptly. Reza was the one who helped me through everything — he explained what services would be done and how long it would take, and he was very professional and helpful throughout the visit. Everyone else I interacted with was great as well. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to get the complimentary car wash because I had my son’s surfboard on the roof, but that was on me. I was in and out in about an hour, which means a lot with my busy schedule. Overall, a smooth and efficient experience.

Happy to get maintenance service at no cost. Once I pulled into the garage though I had to approach someone for help, I was was not initially approached . And it took longer than the original time I was given to complete the service. My only issue was with that was I had another appointment after and was counting on getting my maintenance done in two hours.

Walked into Toyota Irvine for routine service. Walked out with a $2,800+ upsell sheet generated BEFORE anyone inspected my vehicle.
No evaluation. No verification. Just a canned list of “recommended” services.
Most of the items they pushed were already completed, which a two-minute Carfax check would have shown. Instead, I got the full menu of dealer fluff: premature fluid exchanges, vague “preventative” services labeled as urgent, and zero explanation of actual need or findings.
This wasn’t service—it was a sales funnel. The assumption seems to be that customers won’t question anything and will just sign.
If you value honesty or basic due diligence, avoid this place. Plenty of other Toyota dealers don’t treat customers like open wallets.Jan 15, 2026 -
We took our car in for a windshield wiper issue and for a safety check for a possible upcoming trip to a snowy area, Manny Moreno advised us there was a recall on the car that would take 1/2 day to complete. Manny kept us informed, the service tech sent videos of other issues, and Manny worked with us to determine what could be delayed in servicing. Manny is knowledgable, helpful, and great to work with.

I brought my vehicle to AutoNation Toyota of Irvine for the LSC 25TD0 service campaign, and the experience was smooth from start to finish. The service department was organized, communicative, and respectful of my time. They clearly explained the work being done, completed the campaign efficiently, and returned the car when promised.

This was a free one year maintenance check, And also updating my vehicle because of a safety recall in one of the cameras. Everyone was very efficient and cordial. My car came back spotless! they even sent me a video of the inspection showing the underside of my car. Wonderful experience!

I have had a great experience so far with Autonation Toyota Irvine. My truck has been running great and I absolutely love it. My regular maintenance was very streamlined and routine. The shuttle was timely and allowed me to go about my day while the car was being serviced. I also liked the video they sent me of the technician doing his walk through. There was nothing really to report, but it was still nice to see.

Although you don’t have donuts or cookies anymore in the mornings. I used to live in the area till 2014 but whenever I’m in Town and one my of Toyota Vehicles need service, it’s always Toyota of Irvine. I’d would like to give Toyota of Irvine specially Matthew 10 stars ⭐ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐, who was my service adviser that day when I brought in my 2025 Tacoma for my 15K scheduled maintenance. Not only Matthew knows his cars because of his Dad’s influence but he is a gem to be held on to at the Service Line. Very pleasant, professional and efficient. In these times, we all need more people like Matthew whether it be Auto Industry or what have you.

I don't know where to begin! Everyone I interacted with was professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. The service writer explained what I needed clearly. The cashier had a welcoming feeling to them. I needed mats for my car. The parts department them in stock. That was a nice bonus! Having been in the car business many years ago; I can say this service dept is a well oiled machine. It starts with great management. Thanks for a good experience.

5,000 mile service interval and new battery. Service advisor was friendly and informative. Work was completed in a reasonable period of time. For some reason there was a "do not wash" sign placed in the vehicle so I was disappointed when picking it up and it wasn't clean.

My service experience with Toyota Irvine was the more than five star. From the greeting fresh popcorn to the service consultant warm welcome. I had no appointment but I was in a tough position and far from home. I explained my situation he completely gave me peace of mind and showed me the lounge. Thirty minutes went by he reported to me the findings and said I would need to leave my truck. I had no transportation he put me in contact with the service manager. She came in the lounge and introduced herself and proceeded to assist me with transportation of a rental car. The attention I received was amazing. I got home received a call from the consultant with a price and when to expect my vehicle. The next morning I received a call to come pick my vehicle up. When arriving I met the consultant he had the paperwork ready took my payment at his desk and had my truck brought up. It was cleaned ready to go. My entire experience was amazing. Toyota Irvine was an excellent experience I would recommend to my family and friends

Purchased a certified Toyota RAV4 Prime from AutoNation recently. My salesman, Faris Memon and floor manager, Shawn, were great in scheduling test drive and working through paperwork. Car price was great but happy the dealer didn't try to add new few fees or gimmicks to car (like at Kia/Hyundai). They detailed car and addressed all my concerns. I absolutely love the level of service that AutoNation Toyota provides. I leased my 2021 Corolla XSE that was actually in the showroom. Also the first car I’ve ever leased. The first 3 years of service was completely covered so this is also the first time I’ve ever had my car serviced by a dealer.
The experience has been simply incredible throughout. At the end of my lease I purchased my car and have continued to have it serviced by AutoNation Toyota and the cost is very reasonable. Their technicians know my car and have since the beginning of its life. And will continue to until I either decide to purchase or lease a new Toyota.Oct 29, 2025 -
Amazing service and care. Amanda made the experience a great one for us. She was thorough, organized and very personable. Our Toyota Camry hybrid had an engine light come on and they diagnosed the battery needed to be replaced. Not only was there good communication, we received a video of the vehicle showing the concerns and an explanation from the car service technician. There were some other items that needed to be addressed so the car was in the shop for a couple of days. When we received it everything was well repaired and they washed the car. We will continue to use this service center for any other car needs we have in the future. Thanks to the entire team for taking good care of our car.

Great service, better than expected. Heather helped us to communicate details, schedule, get the service and repairs done. During six years we had two free warranty services here and one paid service at 80K for rav4. Communication is easy online and over text messages. They provided all the reports, videos and after we requested agreed on some discount. Probably we could get a better price at nearby service center, but we wanted peace of mind regarding the parts and the quality. Very happy and highly recommend.

I brought my 2023 GR Corolla to AutoNation Toyota for a recurring cylinder 2 misfire, and while the entire process took about one month from drop-off to pick-up, I’m thankful for how it was handled.
My service advisor, Natasha, worked hard to get Toyota Goodwill approval to cover the cost of the short block and parts which was a huge help considering the scale of the repair. Communication had its ups and downs at times, mostly because the technician had to go back and forth with Toyota corporate for verification at every step, which understandably slowed things down.
That said, the quality of the repair was excellent. Big shoutout to Cesar Quintero, my technician, who not only replaced the short block but also had the cylinder head tested and reconditioned. He clearly took pride in doing the job right, and it shows — the car feels solid and smooth now.
Thanks also to Gabriel, who supported the process and kept things moving. If you’re dealing with a complex issue, this team has the experience and care to handle it right, even if it takes time.
Update:
I originally left a positive review after my GR Corolla had its engine replaced at AutoNation Toyota of Irvine in April 2025. My advisor worked hard to get Toyota Goodwill to cover the parts, and I paid nearly $3,700 in labor for the job. At first, I thought the repair was solid.
Unfortunately, when I later brought the car to an independent shop for clutch service, they found serious workmanship problems from the dealer’s repair: several critical bolts in the drivetrain had been left loose or damaged. The shop had to replace the hardware, resurface parts, and reassemble everything correctly at my expense.
When I raised this with Toyota of Irvine, they told me they would not cover any of the corrective work because I hadn’t towed the car back to them. Given the severity of the mistakes, I did not feel safe returning to the same dealer that caused them in the first place.
It’s frustrating: the staff were polite and helpful during the process, but the actual quality control and accountability fell far short of what I expect from a Toyota dealership. If you need major engine or drivetrain work done here, I strongly recommend having a trusted shop double-check everything afterward.Sep 18, 2025
