This place is AMAZING!! It is 3x as big on the inside as it looks from the outside. They have quite literally everything you could think of, and Johnny was so beyond helpful. He went out of his way for us and we are so grateful! Would 1000% recommend making a stop here for all things boating!

Boaters heaven! We were recommended by someone in Santa Barbara to stop by here. We went in with a list of one item to buy, but then saw the opportunity to replace/upgrade more on our sailboat as the prices here were so good! The manager, Johnny, was super helpful and even gave us a ride with our new-to-us gear down to the marina. The other staff in here were also friendly guys who were willing to help at all costs. We will be sure to give a mention on our YT channel too!! We came out with a new fridge unit, zincs, rope, chain, boat hook, gaff, anchor all for under $700! Including a freebie shirt each and the ride!

Decent selection. Some it's can be overpriced for what they are. But the workers are friendly.

A Must-Visit for Any Boating Enthusiast! Minney’s Yacht Surplus offers fantastic service and has a knowledgeable, professional team. This place is like a living maritime museum —absolutely worth visiting even if you’re not planning to buy anything (though chances are, you’ll walk out with something amazing! I have a 1981 27ft Hunter Sailboat. It was missing an original bronze Pelican Hook for a lifeline. No other after market parts Pelican Hooks would fit the threaded bolt at the end of the life line. And I mean none. Asked the front desk where the Pelican Hooks were, went to the section with a bunch of Pelican Hooks and there it was, the original Pelican Hook for my sailboat, and only $9 bucks. And it was the only one! I am Sold on Minnie's.

Attitudes in here are literal trash, the worst. Might be full of cool stuff, but I'm not interested in driving 4 hours round trip to be treated with disrespect and a poor attitude. Have multiple boats I'm working on for myself and others. I'll not bother coming here again. Could've at least apologized for the bad vibes. Very disheartening and frustrating experience to drive hours through traffic and across distance to be greeted with that energy. The guy at the register, who seems to be a shift leader, was very angry that I had asked if it was possible to find my previous transaction without my receipt to return an antenna mast that wasn't compatible with my boat. Got smart and mouthed off to me about how "all of you people come in here and want everything for nothing and try to squeezed us for everything you can..." blah, blah, blah. "Maybe if you had bought it within the last 30 days I could do for store credit, but I haven't sold one of those in months" , blah blah blah. I was cool about his disrespect and wry behavior, but said ok, let me see if my records book happens to be in my work van. It was. So I dug through my pile of papers and found the receipt. It hadn't even been 2 weeks since I purchased the mast. No apologies for the rude behavior, just more quips "ah yeah, see. Maybe if you had this in the first place everything would've been OK, huh?" "Come correct in the first place and maybe I won't get upset!" At this point I had to lay into him. Asking a simple question shouldn't illicit such attitude, nor should someone like this be in a position of "authority". Who does this guy think he is behaving like this? He looks like an overgrown child that was never taught how to behave like a man and never disciplined for disrespecting others. Yep, I'll never be back here. Don't recommend this place to anyone either. I'm sure the owners of a little business like this would've appreciated the capital my clients and I would've brought in, but I'll find someone else who treats me with respect and conducts themselves professionally.

The best place for discounted and used boating gear. I'm glad that they are open again, this time, Thursday, Friday and Saturday so easily accessible on reasonable days of the week, from 9 to 5. Even reasonable hours too!

Minnie’s is an absolutely amazing place. Not only can you find just about anything related to boating, but it’s a totally unique experience just to visit. Highly recommended.

We were told about this place from a friend. While we just wanted to go see it, I was blown away at how much is packed into this building. If you are working on an older sailboat and need something, go here first for sure!

One of my favorite haunts during my SoCal boating days. Always like the Tiki architecture!

So much stuff! Give yourself time to browse. The staff was helpful and courteous. We drove two hours to get there from Marina Del Rey. Easy parking.

Great shop with plenty of tings, bits, pieces, parts and you guessed it. Sails !

Are these guys still in business. I bought a used sail they said was in very good condition. When I got it I could see that it had been re stitched. So I was ok with that. It worked well the first time I used it but the second time it blew out in about 12 mph of wind. When I pulled out one of the treads and tested it I was able to break it with very little effort. It was not done with a good sail thread. I have been calling but get no answer. I tried the other number on there website and am only able leave a message. No answer and no return call. So I guess I’m out $800. So buyer beware. I have good luck in the past with them but not this time

Cool store seen nothing like it anywhere. Parts, sails, pulleys etc. Grate choice in music as well in the background. I can spend all day here looking for unique things.

Some bargains and some not. This is better than a thrift store for boaters. They're only ooen 2 days a week, Tuesday and Saturday. The staff is really friendly and helpful. Ilthey even refunded me $480 without hassle. Make sure you have the receipt. Great place to shop.easy access from the interstate and lots of parking. Within walking distance from the harbor. We live this place.

If you own a boat, you need to visit Minney's. They have a bit of everything here. Good quality used parts and sails. It might take the whole afternoon to find a specific item but I would bet they will have it! Very knowledgeable staff!

I like the idea of this shop. I wish there were more shops like it. I think things here are marked up a lot price wise. Sure, new marine equipment is very expensive, but you cannot rely on used things! I recently bought a whisker pole from here, and the thing snapped 50 miles offshore. You can get great deals on a lot of small purchases however. Don't buy anything that is a crucial part of the boat ex: Booms, Furlers, rigging stuff etc. It's not worth it when it fails

I absolutely love minneys. It's like the Disneyland of exceptional boat junk. Super friendly and helpful people there as well as fantastic prices and a mind boggling selection of used boat bits and some new stuff as well.

Be prepared to spend at least an hour there. Ask about things that you think may be priced high. They will usually drop the price. Good prices on laminating resins but not a very large selection.

Huge selection of boat related mostly used items. I bought a great sail for my 65' sailboat.

Was recommended to go to Minney's by a friend. It was everything he said it was and definitely worth the visit. A little eclectic, but that made it interesting. The staff seems really friendly and they were easy to work with.

Great store to get lost in, but don't expect to find all the things on your list quickly. This isn't a neatly organized shop of things you could easily buy online e, this is a shop where you bring an old part that no one sells anymore and find it's replacement. When you do find it, it will be a decent price, and there are plenty of people around with years of boating experience to give you advice and copius amounts of stories.

You can get supplies here for pennies on the dollar. It's not pretty like West Marine and you may not find your specific part, but the savings make boating more affordable and definitely worth looking. My favorite is buying stainless and brass fasteners by the pound. Most items are used but they have a good selection of new items at discount prices. Staff is friendly and helpful.

This is in most respects identical to a review I posted on Yelp, but I felt that it deserved to be here also. I was in the market for a decent used spinnaker, and found several listed at Minney's for reasonable prices -- particularly considering they were running a 30% off special. I narrowed my choices down to two sails. Chuck sent pictures of the two sails promptly. I chose the better of the two -- a radial-head rated as a 7. In comparison, another loft wanted three times as much for a sail with patches and stains and no bag. The sail arrived today. I am thrilled with the condition -- a nice, clean sail with minimal signs of use which even included a turtle bag. Now, the turtle bag shows some signs of age and I don't think it's original to the sail, but it was a bonus, and I have no complaints whatsoever. Unlike some other outfits I've dealt with, Minney's doesn't gouge on shipping. For around $200, I've got a sail that should give good service for many years. I will certainly give these guys my business in the future. For those who complain about picking through piles of parts, I guess that's the fun of marine salvage places. I've never been to one that doesn't roll that way. If you like your stuff on tidy shelves, or demand a 100% warranty, there are plenty of retail outlets that will gladly take your dollars. I appreciate saving a significant amount, conserving resources by reusing things, and dealing with a family-owned business

I have been to Minnie's twice they have terrible customer service and very bad attitudes. I will not be going back and the owners should have a talk with the rude kids that work the front. If you have rows and rows of junk stacked on top of each other the staff should have some knowledge of their inventory .
