My Jeep Gladiator needed a tow. Francisco showed up , started setting up. I was with Century Towing in past, so I could see he had exemplary knowledge of his responsibilities. He was courteous, professional and very knowledgeable. He is more than likely an asset to Merced Towing and deserves a raise for outstanding service !
Please be advised when using this towing service via AAA. My mother’s vehicle was damaged during delivery; unfortunately, because she was away from the vehicle briefly to gather a gift for the driver, the damage was not immediately noticed. My father discovered the issue the following morning, but the driver denied responsibility. I strongly recommend that all customers closely monitor the unloading of their vehicle to ensure its condition is documented.
I was behind one of your trucks on route 49 between Mariposa and Oakhurst. The truck was going 30 miles an hour in a 55 mile an hour speed limit. At one point I was able to count 20 cars backed up behind him. I can understand him going slow, but there were two designated areas for slow traffic to pull over and a large paved area that he could’ve pulled over but he didn’t!
Well, when I had my accident, it took them not long at all to come and get my car out of the road like there’s nothing I could say bad about them. They did their job and they’re taking care of my car. I would recommend them to everyone.
Lost key to car. Called these people. They wanted $150. And when I was so surprised with a WTF comment they hung up on me. So I called Buds Junk Removal and he towed me for $80.

I got the feeling that whoever I spoke to over the phone doesn’t really care if you get a tow service with them or not . When I call a business I’m more inclined to pick the one that sounds like they got nice ppl working there.

(Driver named Abraham.) I ordered a tow truck at 10:30 ish pm.. he didn't show up until past 12... I understand being backed up but zero communication/the eta was very off with no update whatsoever.. once he arrived he was being extremely rude. I told my friend he had said he didn't know if it would make it home.. he comes out saying " I didn't say that you're putting words in my mouth" huh??? I tried explaining to him that I didn't mean to offended, and that I was only telling my friend that I was nervous to drive the car back. He comes back and says he will no longer service me.. I begged him saying it was a misunderstanding and that I'm a girl and it's a sketchy area.. late.. foggy... and 40 degrees.. he said he would send another driver and just drove off then told triple a to refuse service I'm assuming by creating a lie....he left me stranded past midnight in Merced in 40 degree weather. I will be filing a complaint and calling daily until I received a solution. No young female should have to be stranded by what's supposed to be a trust worthy tow... if no action is taken that comes to show how this company values the customers keeping them in business.. I will be posting on Facebook for awareness!!!
Called for a tow and was told it would be a 50min wait. Hour and a half goes by and was told they are 1min away then 15mins pass after that and was told it would be a 45 min wait now cuz there was a another car that needed a tow that was before us but then why tell me that you're 1 min away when clearly you had other tow in front of me. Very bad service. I would leave 0 stars if I could.
My vehicle was damaged during a lockout. Although a portion of the damage was paid for, other damage was not covered. The driver used a damaged tool and was inexperienced. He shoved the wedge from the side instead of the top according to his boss.
I called Merced Tow and Juan was very helpful in getting me scheduled for a tow. He had Hector out with the tow truck with in 30 min. Hector had amazing customer service and delivered my car home with no damages and extremely fast. Thank you so much Merced Tow for an amazing experience!
Update: I have used this company AGAIN and they were extremely fast in getting my car towed home, and the service on the phone was great and friendly.
1st I got the run around from some online referral service that was shady. Finally hung up and called a name I felt I could trust! I was right. From the initial phone call, I knew it was going to be ok! I had a strange situation. Lost key, wheels locked! Daniel “Chino”, was comforting and I was confident he could do it. He placed the car with great care with a very challenging set of circumstances! Imagine placing a car with wheels locked to the right! He did it with amazing finesse! So nice and professional! I highly recommend! A small price to pay for excellence!
During the heavy rains a few weeks back I needed a tow, knowing there were many cars everywhere needing service I was a little concerned about finding one, my insurance tried three services, Merced City being the third they came through, the driver was polite and professional, I had been waiting for two hours and was told MC would be an additional 90 minutes so I figured what the heck? I’d been there all afternoon already, the truck showed up over an hour earlier than expected. I am so grateful and would recommend them 1000% percent, I regret not getting the drivers name.
Back in 2022 i had my car towed by this company. The cable holding my car fell off the back of the tow truck. When I complained to city tow Joe (the manager of the local company) he refused to pay for it at first and wanted me to take it up with insurance, as if it wasn’t one of his faulty trucks that dropped my car off of the back of his truck. I am now trying to get documents of the whole situation and as soon as I tell him my name, he all of a sudden abruptly tells me to hold on and doesn’t put me on hold but just puts the phone down on his desk, I assume due to the dead silence on the phone. Horrible customer service and Joe is the root of it
The BEST tow service EVER in Merced!!!! The gentleman sent out where precessional and so kind! My old pick up had a dead battery so needed a jump! The service man sent did not stop til it was charged and my engine was roaring! He then stuck around, and waited til I was off. It would not go in to gear so he helped me push back in to the drive and told me to call for a tow. Called for a tow (AAA) and that driver came out! Well he loaded it up and had to push it on to the street to load it. It’s 107f today and no muttering under his breath just simple kindness and respect. Today I had them tow my vehicle and the service was great, fast, professional and no issues at all. Excellent service compared to last time when the driver wouldn't tow my vehicle. I understand his position about me not having a current registration card physically on me but I still feel that having the registration verified to him directly by a police officer on duty was enough proof of being the registered owner. Plus the roadside assistance that I purchased is supposed to cover any vehicle that I'm traveling in so the requirement for being the registered owner doesn't make sense to me.
They were the AAA driver sent for my roadside assistance. AAA already authorized the service but the driver wouldn't provide services.He was arguing about the vehicle registration. Had two local police officers verify the registration directly to the driver first hand. Still wouldn't provide services as he felt we could be lying to him?? Had to pay out of pocket to another company even though I already paid $150 for the roadside assistance
They tell you 1 hour then make you wait 2 hours. Then they call and ask if the truck showed up yet an hour and a half later then you tell them no it's not here then tell you it'll be another 25 minutes. You ask them to bring your vehicle one place and they won't drop it off where you want. Then you call for customer service inquiring about their protocol, why they won't drop it off where you want and they yell at you on the phone. Extremely rude and unprofessional. Unbelievable the way they treat their customers. Like you're an inconvenience. Never calling them again and too bad they don't have a corporate phone number, I would be calling it! ??
I just wanted to say thank you so very much to the three tow drivers last night 2/20/20 and yes I said three drivers that rescued me off a dangerous section of hwy99 when my front tire blew out! It took three tow trucks at the very end after the first truck broke down.
We were rescued by a larger tow truck that came and hooked us up and towed us safely off the freeway while another tow truck showed up to transfer my truck off the first to take me to my final destination!!

Chiino was super fast getting here and getting my car unlocked. And not only that, but this guy actually had a great personality(super friendly) even though I called him out at almost 10pm. City Tow is the only tow company I will EVER use!! They are quick to show up when ever I need them over never waited more than 30 minutes drivers are ALWAYS super friendly very respectful and city Tow has the fairest prices around. Our car got a flat tire and went off I-99 into a median just outside Merced. Abraham from Merced City Tow came right away, and offered to drive us home to Southern Orange County on Christmas night. He drove us about 340 miles through heavy rain and then snow through the Grapevine. Such incredible service and such a kind man. I highly recommend this company!
Great experience! Thanksgiving day my neighbor decides to leave the car on, keys in the ignition, and lock the doors. Guy (i wish I'd gotten his name)was super fast at getting there and got the job done in a matter of seconds! Thanks for going the extra mile

Went through AAA for a tow for my lowered car, Chano the driver was great helped me out as much as he could by putting wood blocks down to prevent scraping. Would highly recommend.
