I would like to tell you about my experience with SKIP, DONNIE & WESTSIDE AUTO RECYCLING. Due to my Mother passing, I had to get her house ready to put on the market to sell. My Mom had a non-operational truck and camper in her backyard that needed to be removed. I called several recycling / car buying / donation places in L.A./ Santa Monica area. Most companies I spoke with were rude, uninformed or simply didn't answer the phone. The people or robots I dealt with asked a million questions, only to say days later they don't accepts campers. My opening statement to all these companies was " I have a TRUCK AND CAMPER"! I was so frustrated by the unprofessionalism in this industry. Reluctantly, I got back on the internet and saw WESTSIDE AUTO RECYCLING. I read some great reviews so i decided to try one more company. Being the weekend, I expected to leave a message. Much to my surprise, SKIP answered the phone, was friendly and eager to assist. Within one hour SKIP came to the house to see what needed to be removed. Not only was he nice and knowledgable, he was empathetic to my situation. SKIP said he would return days later, with a tow truck and DONNIE the driver and would attempt the removal. I live in Orange County and the drive to Santa Monica on the weekends is usually 2-3 hours. This meant I had to trust SKIP on his word he would return. Much to my surprise, I received a confirming phone call to day prior to pick up. On the day of pick up, Donnie called in the morning and kept me updated. Upon arrival SKIP and DONNIE of WESTSIDE AUTO RECYCLING were able to remove the truck and campers! I was elated with their OUTSTANDING SERVICE, PROMPTNESS and reasonable pricing. I have been a business owner over 40 years and a R.N. of 38 years. I admit, I am a little jaded and do not hand out compliments easily nor do I do many reviews. HOWEVER, when the service is so OUTSTANDING, it has to be recognized! SKIP, DONNIE and WESTSIDE AUTO RECYCLING are an EXCELLENT business to deal with. A 5 star rating is not enough. THANK YOU for helping me in my time of need!!!
I called about selling a car and they were friendly and offered same-day pickup, which I appreciated. The offer was $200, and when I asked if they could come closer to $500, I was told that wasn’t realistic.
When the driver arrived, the car had a locked steering wheel and was stuck in gear, which I realize can complicate towing. The driver left without waiting while I was actively trying to resolve it, and I was later told the car was impossible to pick up due to street conditions.
I contacted another company that picked up the same car from the same location with a larger flatbed and paid $500 without any issues. I recommend getting multiple quotes and confirming equipment ahead of time.

I was surprised by how friendly and responsive this place was. I had tried to get rid of a junk car for days, calling all around town in a red herring round up. But Skip and his driver, Donny, were so just naturally decent folks that I couldn't NOT let them take the car, even if I wasn't getting as much as their competitors were offering. Here's the secret, you can hold out for a little more money and call 4-5 different yards/dispatchers who may or may not show up when they claim and cause you to take time off work or family for nothing... or you can sell your junk to reliable, decent people who are men of their word and pick up the car when they say they are going to. Sometimes $50 just isn't worth the headache and you'll live longer if you just sell your scrap car to these lads. 10/10, would give them my junk again!
This is the place to go if you need to junk your car. Everyone I spoke and interacted with were so kind and thoughtful. They make the whole process very easy. We had lost the car’s title, but they were able to do it with the registration card. They picked up the car very quickly after I called. 10/10 recommend these guys!

Wow wow wow I am more than speechless! I don’t think there have been many situations in my life where I have been treated with such grace, understanding and patience (especially when it comes to cars). I called up the store because my engine unfortunately didn’t start anymore (it’s an older car so I decided it’s time to say bye) I couldn’t find any of my papers because I cleaned out the car beforehand and didn’t think I would need them anymore (girl rookie mistake). Donnie was the most patient person I could have ever wished for he told me to go back home and search for my papers he would wait and he’s sure I’ll find it. Needless to say I was beyond speechless.. while I was losing my mind he calmed me down with a smile on his face and such grace. He really made more than the best out of the situation everybody was so kind, I’m so glad I chose this place! Recommending it to everyone you’ll be in absolutely amazing hands!

Called this place to be greeted by Skip, a class act through and through. After answering all of my questions thoroughly, Donny, another great guy, was on the way with a tow truck. When our Ford F150 exploded in the Walgreens parking lot last week, he was the only one who was willing to tow the carcass away to his junkyard. He did it almost immediately after I called, and I didn’t even have to be there in person for him to take care of it because I was away on another job.
The cops wouldn’t help me, the firefighters wouldn’t help me, and no tow-yards would help me. It was unbelievable. Skip’s service is vital to Los Angeles, and I literally don’t know what people will do without him!!
Not to mention, he is a heckuva nice guy and even helped me procure my gorilla magnetize lockbox which I had left under the body of the truck!!! That is above and beyond service!!!!

I called them and the owner Skip asked couple questions and told me that he will come in 30 min to have a look. After checking he paid me cash and helped me to fill out selling DMV forms online. Westside Auto Recycling is absolutely awesome. I have a problem situation including a lien, title transfer, etc. "Skip", the owner, spent several hours over several weeks helping me with this - and he ultimately took care of of the entire process (at extra time and effort on his behalf). Plus, he paid me in full several weeks earlier. I'm absolutely thrilled. Awesome gentleman and company.
AMAZING! Where do I start... I have to tell you, Skip and his staff went above and beyond to provide me the BEST services. I was in a bit of a sticky situation where I needed to get my car out of my apartment by 4/30/20. Long story short, I followed there instructions, communicated everything they needed from me. They explain everything very very well (this was my first time having to salvage a car, and I had no knowledge on the process), and made it extremely easy to finalize the pick up. My car was in a apartment garage stacked parking space. The staff was able to maneuver in and out with precision! They can get anything out of anywhere no problem. I am very very SATISFIED and will continue to keep them on speed dial if I ever need services with them again. thank you so much you have no idea!

Skip was SUPER nice on the phone. First response from him was 'am I okay' after I told him I was in an accident. Found them online, on top of their business. The tow truck came exactly when they said and Don was great, picked up the car in less than 2 hours. Good, honest people.
