I recently visited the Copart location in Bakersfield to pick up a vehicle for a scheduled appointment. Unfortunately, my experience at this location was extremely unprofessional and far below the service standards I’ve consistently experienced at other Copart facilities across California and beyond. When I arrived, the forklift driver, Greg, approached me immediately with an aggressive and hostile attitude. It felt as though he had a personal issue with me, despite this being my first time at this location. Without allowing any discussion, he refused to load the vehicle onto my trailer, claiming it was unsafe. I’ve picked up hundreds of vehicles from Copart locations, including inoperable units, and I’ve never had a driver refuse to load a vehicle when proper equipment and conditions were safe. His behavior was unprofessional, disrespectful, and completely unnecessary. I requested to speak with the manager and was told that Andrew, the manager, had already left for the day. I called the number on the card I was given, but I received no answer. When I went inside the office to explain the situation, the front desk employee—who identified herself as Mary, though she also mentioned the name Marcel—spoke to me with the same rude attitude. She repeatedly spoke over me and refused to let me explain the issue. She insisted that whatever the forklift driver says must be followed, without any attempt to understand the situation or provide customer service. Their lack of professionalism turned a simple 10-minute pickup into almost a two-hour ordeal. During this time, I also witnessed the forklift driver arguing aggressively with another transporter, forcing him to move his truck in and out unnecessarily, which created delays and unsafe conditions. Later, I was instructed to unload the vehicle I had brought with me so that they could load the Copart vehicle onto the end of my trailer. When I began unloading it, Greg returned, yelling at me to move my loaded $100,000 vehicle outside the lots and park it outside! Using inappropriate language. This type of behavior—especially from someone operating heavy machinery—is unsafe and unacceptable. After finally winching the vehicle onto my trailer myself, I went back to the office to confirm the name of the employee at the counter. I waited five to ten minutes while she ignored me. When I politely said, “Excuse me, ma’am, I have a question,” she responded by yelling at me with a loud, rude tone, saying, “Hold on, I’m talking to the driver.” She then walked to the back, loudly laughing and talking with another employee for several minutes. When she returned to her desk, she continued to ignore me until I once again asked if I could just have her name. She answered with the same rude tone, saying her name was “Mary,” though it appears her real name may be Marcel. I thanked her and left. Based on this experience, I will not be purchasing or picking up any future vehicles from the Bakersfield location. I strongly advise customers to be cautious when buying vehicles from this yard. You may face unnecessary delays, refusal to load your vehicle, unprofessional behavior, unsafe work practices, and possibly storage charges if they decide not to release your vehicle on time. This location needs immediate attention from Copart management to address the unprofessional conduct, poor customer service, and unsafe behavior displayed by multiple employees.

This company has no since of time. I have had a pick up time for a vehicle for 2 days now. They give you bullshit run around and why they haven’t or can’t pick up the vehicle. First it was the tow truck broke down now the power was out so the sent most of the drivers home . We line it a time where we have cell phone and laptop top have batteries. Just tired of getting jerked around. Can’t ever have the decency to call someone and say hey we can’t make it today.

This place is extremely unprofessional!!! Copart should look in to what there Staff is doing and fire every single one at this location had appointment at 2pm they brought the car out at 4:45 right before they closing Truckers are suffering and waiting for there cars I wish I could leave -5 but it’s not a option Avoid these location as much as possible

the most negative place. The staff is extremely unfriendly. They don’t want to work with people as much as possible. recording has no time frame. take as long as possible. there are no rules at the counter. I have to go to the car for every little thing. God bless you with the same from everyone who suffered from you. It took 10 minutes of waiting to sell me a jacket. 5 minutes of check processing. it's just cruel

I guess I got lucky. Wrecked my car outside of Bakersfield. Ins told me it was here. Came here two weeks later. They gave me wheelbarrow, got my big box, 2 12's, and 1000 watt amp, money, wires and every other personal item I had..Out of my lowered wrecked jag

Plan on waiting outside 25- 30 minutes. Hopefully you have a vehicle you can wait in. Insurance chose this place.

I was in a car accident and went to pick up my items and did not find my Powerbeats pro earphones, my Skullcandy dime 2s; any of my electronics (charging cables and adapters), or any of my money I’d left in there. Really bummed about this. I filed a police report and attached a picture of inside the car where u can see that the charging cable is plugged in, and I didn’t get it back.

Got hit with a surprise $140 dollar charge and an hour of loading delay because of that sudden charge. You can be the only person in the lot and they will still take their time to load you. Edit: finally loaded. It took them 2 and a half hours to make time for a service I had to pay for.

THIEVES!!!!!!!! Absolute THIEVES!!!!!! Money and chargers GONE! The fact that this place allows their employees to continue working here. Further action will be taken. Your employees steal and nothing gets done. We will be back to get everything back!!! Absolutely shocking this place has 4 stars. Disgusting.

We arrived to dusty Bakersfield, went inside the office to pay for the vehicle good customer service,purchased a 2013 Toyota Prius with low miles , front light damage , bumper and reinforcement bar only, no carpet mats , and missing relays, somewhere between the accident and the yard took the relays, management should be aware

I don’t know how people do business here owner and employees are rude . So people buy wrecked equipment, cars etc with no wheels and they want customers to tow it out with no wheels. So customer calls tire company to put on tires so they’re able to tow equipment out of yard , well a female walks out of the office yelling at the tire guy screaming to stop working, unprofessional along with another gentlemen. An easy excuse me you’re not allowed to work on the property would of been nice. You guys are not better then anyone to be talking to someone like that. Would give 0 stars, poor attitudes, and customer service.

When I showed up to recover my personal belongings from my car that was totaled. Apparently they have no knowledge about my laptop, dj speaker, vintage electric guitar, and a new machete.Straight and simple, if your got a car going to this lot, take all your valuables out before it gets there because they will steal your things.

i got someone named victor san jose who is supposed to be my contact to sell personal vehicle. my car did not sell. ive been trying to get my car out for about 6 days now keeps ignoring my calls/messages says he was in vacation , go to office they can handle it the office people did not know/do anything finally he says everything is ready to go i show up only to be told i have to wait an hour to get someone to drive my car out so i wait i owe fees which was expected with a credit card machine on the counter they say cash only no cards idk about you blew my mind to top it off they dont have my title in the office jose has it and he is ignoring my calls/messages again first and last time i do anything with copart

Improperly listing vehicle damage. Barely managed to return the vehicle back even though did not even load it on a trailer. Waited over a month for refund of the vehicle. Driver fee has not being refunded yet 4 months later. Hanging up the phone when calling. Manager not returning phone calls. Emailed at least twice a week and only got him to reply every couple weeks with more promises and new excuses. Super frustrating and disappointed. Worst costumer service experience ever.

be award if you are buying a car that is label as undercarriage it means that it doesnt have the catalytic converter copart is stealing the CATS from the vehicle, I just bought 2 cars and no catalytic converter. be award they dont help you.

A giant corporation taking advantage of all of its customers. Sad. Bought a Run and Drive car and it was missing the keys and the catalytic converter when I picked it up. When you tell them about it they act like you're bothering them and then spew out their policies about not being responsible for anything. Bottom line is, they have all the cars so they can do whatever they want.

I buy a BMW in copart bakerfield with "minor dent / scratches" and the engine does not work, it does not pass smog check and it shoots a lot of smoke (mechanical problem) but they do not mind putting any pretext to be able to sell it. I loved copart but doing this kind of thing is very wrong to deceive the people who with great effort bought our cars and the worst thing is that it is sold as it is where it is so you can not do anything very bad copart that is not right or Professional, now I run out of money and with a junk car
