  1-star for shirt mandate old 5-star review: on veterans day they closed right on time as posted, well done since then I have developed a passion for opposing shirt mandates as strong as the passion I once had to serve in the military of this supposedly "free" country. after a recent visit where a shirt mandate was enforced, 1-star for this antagonism of personal freedom and bodily autonomy. what if someone has no shirt and needs the CRV money to get a shirt? and summer is coming, we'll all need to be shirtless for the heat before long

  wife was able to comfortably visit by herself. place was clean and had a nice drive in setup with multiple lanes. Even with a clean cut self-service setup she was helped quickly and professionally. It is one of the few places open so early in the morning. While it was sightly difficult to find (downing has a small sign on a corner with no stop, signal, or turn lane) this will be our new go to recycling place. Amazing setup, no fumbling, very clean, great hours. Overall: extremely convenient.

  Lady was very nice on the phone and at the front counter. She's extremely personable and professional. The older gentleman with airpods in ears was extremely rude. Asked me 5x where I got my aluminum items from. I had 4x flagpole (poles), 3x RV steps, 1 kegerator tank, & 2x razor scooters. Wouldnt it be obvious where they're from? My first response was the store....and he still went on to re-ask four more times. I get it that many steal things to recycle but his demeanor and constant re-asking of the same question was unprofessional and not-warranted. The 3 stars are for the nice lady who works there and knows Customer Service. Clean aluminum $0.25 lb Dirty Aluminum $0.10 lb

  Guy that weighed in my truck tried to low ball me at $100 a ton for Tin. Told him SA recycling was paying at least $180 a ton and I'd would head there. Started to back out and then all of a sudden he's yelling he can do $160 a ton. What kind of operation is this. Your price is your price, don't try to rip people off until they try to leave then give them your real price. Just go to SA recycling, better prices and no haggling.

  0.25¢ a pound for aluminum!? What a rip off! They need to post their sorry prices online, so others can avoid the hassel. However, the staff was nice and helpful with sorting.

  The worst place i have ever been the guys took all my stuff out of my bags and threw them away then the woman in side says that they have a limit on the amount they can take and left me to figure away to get the 2 full barrels of can back home with nothing to put them in she was very rude

  Have used them for household recycling and business recycling. Prices seem decent for what they pay and staff is decent. Have had issues with our list of employees able to pick up funds. Other than that no real issues.

  The lady on the phone is ALWAYS rude. When something doesn't happen when they say it will, we call and she says "why are you calling me again". They never stick to a schedule for pick up/deliveries and then always say "we will try to get there". Probably the worst company to attempt to do business with.

  I do electrical work, and recycle a lot of copper all across the country. I recycled #1 copper last week in Vegas at $1.20/lb. This place just gave me $.35/lb. I needed it gone so I let them take it. But needless to say I will not go back.

  They were open on the saturday I went. There were alot of people there dropping off recycables. I got real good service from an employee name Eddie who was very helpful. I got nothing negitive to say about this company accept they hooked me up.

  Very unreliable, don't go by their hours, from the phone or posted, they just close early sometimes for no reason better show up well over an hour within closing/opening to be sure you aren't making a wasted trip. Very unprofessional, unorganized, and disgustingly filthy (obviously, it is a recycling center but still). unfortunately this is the only recycling center to my knowledge that actually pays you for the recycling in Bakersfield, or I wouldn't come here anymore.
