Been shopping with AutoZone since they came on the scene, I will now never step foot in one again as I do not have too. The clerks attitude was as bad as his appearance and was probably the owner of the junky looking Harley with the terrible white walls blocking the side walk out front. Please get your employees new uniforms as maybe that will boost there self esteem and ultimately improve there attitudes. You never get a second chance to make a first impression, that includes the motorcycle blocking the sidewalk at the front door with the absolutely terrible white walls. I will just have merchandise brought to my car from Walmart or go to the Napa at arcata, Nice folks over there. Que the copy and paste response from the owner/mager how they are so sorry. Zero stars was not an option.
My family and I often go here to get car parts, and have always had a good experience with the workers and quick assistance. I came in for headlights during the foggy and rainy weather, and Angel was able to give us a free damaged return that had only been opened but never used. It saved my mother a lot of money, and we are super grateful!
John was extremely helpful testing and replacing our car battery. We were able to get the car fixed in less than 20 minutes, and he gave us some useful advice too!
I went to AutoZone in McKinleyville, CA, afr 7:00 pm, Friday (8/29/25) but the store was still open and they greeted me with very kind smiles and helped me big time. It was about yellow engine warning sign that suddenly showed up on my dashboard, which scared me, and I went straight to AutoZone. Imogene was very professional, and gave me good, relevant advices. I became a big fan of AutoZone. The shop was very nicely maintained, and their service was incomparable. Thank You!
Aug 1st (Friday), These guys helped me out while an engine check light came on hundreds of miles away from home. Codes were pulled, part was supplied and I was back on the road within one hour! The Toyota dealership estimated an appointment would open up on Tuesday! The customer service here is excellent!!!
Jon is a jerk. Very rude and unprofessional as he thinks that I didn’t know what part I needed. If I go into a store and ask for a part, I don’t need the exasperated responses, just give me the part I am asking and paying for. That girl needs a customer service refresher course.
The staff and management keep changing up, and over the last couple of months I have been overcharged 3 different times and now they won’t refund my core for a battery, claiming there’s a 3 month window for doing so (I bought the new battery six months ago and they charged for the core then and said being the old one back at anytime). I cannot find that this an actual written policy anywhere. It should also be noted that they would not refund me the difference of the overcharge for items even when they forced me to show them the price on shelf as advertised and posted. No apology offered, just same lame excuse it should have been taken down or was old. One of the managers has self checked me several times and did not ask or enter my membership number so there is no warranty I can claim on those parts purchased. This used to be my favorite auto store and know I doubt I’ll ever return.
Goat at McKinleyville AutoZone is the man, and he really lives up to his name! Had my battery tested and replaced in a pinch. Excellent service with a kind and humorous attitude. If you're reading this, Goat, I really appreciate you!
Very happy with my visit. Johnny went above and beyond to help me find the right replacement bulbs for my vehicle and even installed them for me. Service like that is hard to come by these days. I’m now a customer for life. Thank you!
Don’t trust the battery, starter, alternator tester. Either it’s a bad machine or the worker couldn’t use it properly. They tried to get me to buy a $600 alternator part when all i needed was a battery. They also refused to show me what indicated that I needed a new alternator. Went to Firestone for a second opinion and they said all I needed was a battery and that AutoZone tried to pull a fast one. Get a second opinion and don’t always trust a guy covered in grease.
Colyn hooked me up with a new battery within like 10 minutes with great service. Battery got tested for free and my starter too. Installation was quick and battery works like a charm. Great great staff…stoked on the new battery!!
I stood in line as the manager was leaving with another person. He stopped at the register and asked if the clerk was ok. She said yes i am ok. He said you're zoning out and it is kind of disturbing. I left without a purchase as the clerk said she couldn't get the part I needed. Most places offer ordering the part. The store in eureka had one. The Orileys next door had it and offered to order a better brand. Autozone was unwilling to order a 2017 ignition coil for a ford. That zoning out was your red flag!
I came in today to get a lightbulb for my headlight to replace anthony helped me find it in the store and then when I was having difficulty changing the headlight in the parking lot he also helped me great experience especially someone who has almost no idea how to replace things in a car. He was so helpful and even offered to put the bulb in for me which I really appreciate even though, I wanted to do it myself so that I could learn how to do it and he was super helpful.
*Update--Anthony and Dillon are Rockstars! I was on a quick spiral (this is not a good time for car troubles) and these two stepped up to assist me with a quick assessment of my issues which resulted with a purchase and installation of a new battery (thanks, Anthony).

The crew is very friendly and incredibly helpful. They often go above and beyond helping customers by not only selecting the correct item needed but also going outside and helping install the item. The store is decent size for an auto parts store and the shelves are full of a good selection of products. They also provide delivery services when needed! The store is located next door to another auto parts store, I recommend shopping Autozone first
Great service knowledgeable staff they get to the parts you need if they don't have it order it for you at no cost usually there by the next day as long as you're there before noon. The McKinleyville store has s the most knowledgeable employees who actually do their own mechanic work for their vehicles. And even though I don't know what most parts names are they seem to always know what I mean when I say stuff like small black hose thingymajig with 2 bends. Great place to get the things that you need and want for your vehicle!!!!!
10+++ BEST customer service I have EVER had! Went in to purchase a battery. John went an extra 100 miles to install it - and it wasn't an easy job (that's putting it mildly). John was patient, kind, and super knowledgeable - I learned so much in that hour he spent getting the really old battery out and putting the new one in - he even pulled a couple MacGyver moves to make it work! I can't express enough my GRATITUDE and AWE for John and Marissa's help and kindness! Seriously, if you need auto parts, this is the place to go - everyone working in that store was so helpful and friendly! THANK YOU!!!
These guys go above and beyond, not only are their prices better, but they really take care of the customer. Not only did they do a free installation of my battery but they made sure that it was safe and I had everything that I needed to continue.

Clean, well stocked store with a great team! The customer service is by far the best around; Philip went above and beyond for me today helping get together the oddball parts i needed, and I couldn't be more appreciative.
We had a very last minute emergency that needed a larger ball for our hitch. It was just a couple of minutes past the closing time (8:00 pm on Sunday). Brandon and Angel were awesome, they let us come in and pick up the correct size. This saved us about 2 hours of driving because our only option was to drive to Fortuna and back to pick up the trailer. Awesome job fellas. Thanks
As soon as I walked in I was greeted with an enthusiastic, "welcome to AutoZone!" The employee quickly identified what part I needed. He was extremely friendly and helpful. I left feeling uplifted and hopeful about the world. We need more people like this AutoZone employee in the world.
Jon Chamness is really kind, patient, and super helpful. I was having issues with my front blinker on the left side, and this dude went above and beyond to make sure I got what I needed. Would definitely recommend this store’s location, especially if Jon is on shift!
Swung into Auto Zone today to get a new battery. Greeted happily by Patrick M who sold me a battery and then installed it for me. He was super upbeat and friendly and happy to be working! Don't get much of that kind of service these days! Thanks Patrick for being awesome!!
Needed a new battery, got it installed for free! Then after some diagnostics I learned I needed a new alternator, Patrick and Jon helped me figure out what I needed and the best/easiest/cheapest way for me to do it! They really care about good customer service and go above and beyond here.
This is my first car and I am definitely inexperienced but the general attitude was supportive and diy focused and not trying to wring every last penny out of you. 10/10 recommend
Another great group of employees that do thier best to assist. Patrick and Noodles have been very nice and helpful in my latest project. Patrick recommended a product I did not see but actually used endlessly (Vinyl repair product.) Noodles is always energetic and helpful, great location, very friendly employees.

My wife's headlight just went out. He's like I know exactly what u need. Popped my hood. Double checked. Took head light out took me inside showed me the new one. Rang me up. Other employee was asking for his break. Let him take his break. Even went out with me installed headlight. Ended up being the store manager. Believe his name was Jon. Or Tom. So bad with names. But was very impressed with the excellent customer service and professionalism
Disclaimer: this review is solely because I had a great experience with a specific employee, Jon. He was on his break and saw me cursing my old Volvo in the parking lot and offered me some excellent advice. The next time I came in he actually remembered me and offered the same excellent service he had the first time.
I have only been in a couple of times and I must admit that not every experience has been quite this good (gotta be honest) but this guy knows his stuff and genuinely wants to help out his customers.
