Bought a new car battery from them, Way cheaper than Orielly and auto zone. Customer service was really good, they have cheerful employees and more bodies ready to assist you, rather than barely 2 people at the more common places like I mentioned above.
Nice old fashioned type auto parts store. I had a couple of rear drums resurfaced and a rear axle bearing put on. Ray did it very fast and did excellent work. Did it really fast. I'm very happy with the service.

These folks are excellent! They are one of a few places left that has a decent machine shop for the auto enthuseist or home mechanic. I went all over town to various machine shops and they either couldn't do it or I had to deal with someone's personal schedule (away racing, on vacation, too busy, etc). I walk into SP auto and they did the machining right there, as I browsed their parts in the front. I used them a few years ago as well, to press A-arm bushings in. Anything you need that requires special tools the average home mechanic doesn't have...they'll do. Really great resource. Save their number. You'll need them eventually! Plus, everyone is super nice and interested in your project. Great place.
Nice place to go for auto parts. They are very friendly and they know their stuff. The their prices are very competitive and usually have Parts in stock
I started trading with them in 1953. Then and now they’ve got stock in-depth and good people at the counter. This is an all-pro operation, it isn’t like the chains.

Well now that Henderson's has been closed in Albany for well over 10 years there are no motor parts stores left anymore besides this. O'Reilly / grand auto stores just not only do they not ever have the parts the people behind the counter are nowhere near as knowledgeable as the people at s&p automotive as I said it's the last real auto parts store in this area

Life saver the only place who had a break caliper for a lexus RX 300 , very friendly staff feels like family business and prices in line with what u see at other store like autozone and orielys .
The person who attended me was rude, he didn't notice that I am a disabled person and make me walk all the way to him in order to talk very rude. I was so disappointed. Also he want me to buy very expensive parts for my car when everyone knows at this times we need to economize.
Went to 3 part stores dey didn't have the actual front wheel bearings i needed for my dodge ram van went to SP automotive on san pablo in Richmond they had in stock thank God for this auto store great friendly staff very helpful
Went here to get parts for my work truck and the gentleman behind the counter understood what I needed but was rude and not happy to help. He is the senior person there maybe 50 or so years old. For someone dealing with the public should have a little more customer service in my opinion. We all just want to get the right parts to fix our vehicles not have attitude given back. He is the one who works Saturday mornings so avoid that day if you need parts
this is hands down one of the best auto parts store in the Richmond area they have good service good parts stand by their stuff and they are very helpful and courteous they know what they are doing this is a great auto parts store

Steve sold me an equivalent bearing for $25 less than the first one he pulled. They didn’t make much money on me today, but they definitely made me a return customer.
The machine shop is old school business where a handshake still means something. Professional and knowledgeable. They respect the owners at all skill levels
