My experience at Valley Springs Recycling was beyond BAD. There is no score low enough. While SITTING in my vehicle, after doing business there, I was punched hard in the face by the FEMALE employee there. I am 77 YEARS OLD and DISABLED, and again, was sitting in my vehicle! She damaged my lip and broke and chipped my front teeth. I'm still seeking financial help to repair the teeth. I'm also in a lot of pain NOW because I need to do all of the work on the teeth at the same time, and can in no way afford to repair the teeth . The teeth have deteriorated so much because of the time frame, and the owner refuses to help me repair them in any way. Not even an apology! When I was attacked by her, on March 22, I was sitting in my vehicle waiting for an employee to bring me a phone number to register a complaint about her rude service that day. She wasn't happy! I did file a police report on site that day. Some employees did apologize and say that they have no idea what her problem with me is. I'm looking for a good attorney to get some help!. Folks be careful when you visit this place. I believe she's still working there, so she must have ties.
The most unprofessional, rudest people I’ve ever felt with in customer service, Also they are scam artist, I went there three times with same scrap metal from the same source(an airplane) they weighed it at 200lb and on the third time they put on receipt , three sheets of metal and gave me only half of what they paid me just two days before , and when I came back to show them they shorted me, they pretended they couldn’t find my record when they input it in their computer, and proceeded to just ignore me and moved on to the next customer, I showed them the receipt and then the owner blocked my car from leaving with the container that allegedly had the metal I brought in and told me it was because my aluminum wasn’t clean that I got paid less!! Then they took pics of my license like I was a criminal!!! When they are the criminals , also they pay the absolute minimum amount probably allowed by law for clean metal , when other places they pay at least .70 cents per lb, ! The rude lady at the window , even told me they take advantage of the fact there isn’t another recycle center for several miles, so people in Valley Springs are forced to use their business, they can pay whatever they feel like! Avoid this place at all cost if you can , we will drive to Lodi from now on . This place should be investigated for fraud
The young man who helped us was very helpful, kind and knowledgeable regarding his job and was helpful knowing all the rules and regulations and physically helpful also.
I’ve taken cans and bottles and copper here. Unfortunately this place is a scam. I literally weigh my garbage cans and write their weight on the garbage can and weigh all items on a zero out scale at home. They consistently give me 2/3 of what the weight of the bottles and cans are and a little over half of what the copper is. They quote you a price over the phone and then when you get your copper down there, they weigh it, they rush through it and magically it’s a different price than quoted. If you can stay away from this place and have access to another recycler go there.
Rude lady and the flunky workers l had 40lb of clean cat food cans . So they put them on the scale then put them in the bin after that he told me I don't get any money because there no crv so I said y didn't we put it in the scrap aluminum bin and he blew up at me yelling at me.i got RIPPED Off should of called the cops.
I only go here when I cannot get to Lockeford. The guys always act like they are being inconvenienced. When they are working together, they hardly ever acknowledge you. Then you just get handed a receipt. The lady that works in the office has always been nice though. I only take cans and bottles there. I took in 9 pounds of copper a while back and just over 20 pounds a couple weeks later. I was surprised at how little I got, but figured I was wrong about the price per pound, or something. Didn't look at the receipt until I got home and was astonished. They only gave half of the current price and it showed the weight at just ten pounds! Watch them the whole time and say something if you think something is not right. Check prices before you go and ask them what they are paying.
You have to watch them with what they grade your scrap metal with. We have had several issues with us bringing in #1 steel and they type it up as a lower grade metal!! Always look at your receipt!
This place use to be not to bad. But new manager is rude and really so is rest of place now. Seems like no one likes new manager and seems a little lazy as well
I've barely started bringing my recycles to this place and so far I have no complaints. Everyone here has been good, yes the price for cans and bottles are less than elsewhere but I get good customer service and that's important.
Don’t put 12-12:30 for lunch on your sign if you shut the gate at 11:45. We showed up at 11:45 on the dot and he was just closing the gate and wouldn’t help us until after “lunch”, said that hey close the gate for lunch at 11:45. I suggest that you change the sign on your gate.
It's alright. Sometimes I feel like I should have been paid more for what I recycle... but they make it hard for people to see the scale when they actually weigh your material most of the time. But atleast its local and I dont have to go out of town just so my recycling doesn't end up in landfills... that's really all that matters to me.
Customer service is not bad but the prices are absurd makes you feel like your getting ripped off I would suggest a trip to Stockton if your looking to make money on your scrap
Hey I thought everyone was polite and no cuss words. They even came and helped me ( bad back) while they weren’t busy. Great hours also thanks to the crew!!

And he laughed and asked if I liked what I saw and then showed me he didn't have any teeth and asked if I wanted to party with Him(WOW)
The muscle head that works there has a serious attitude problem and doesn't have any kind of respect at all. The all around customer service is horrible. I would recommend driving the extra few miles to lodi.
they pay low. and they wont hesitate to rip you off. they dont take appliances and charge to take refrigerators/freezers. go to lockeford they pay better and the customer service is better
