This shop did excellent work on my truck converting both axles to lockers and re-gearing as well. Barry was very helpful and knowledgeable about doing the modification to my truck and spent a lot of time with me listening to what I wanted and recommending what I need to get what I wanted done. The Rear End Shop has excellent reviews for a reason. They know their stuff!!

Barry was very fair priced, very knowledgeable in his craft and completed the diagnostic and repair in 2-3 days. I would highly recommend his shop.

Called the shop with concerns about the way my transmission was shifty on my F150. Barry answered the phone, was very helpful. He asked me to bring it in and he would go for a ride with me to see if he can tell anything.. He assured me that nothing was wrong. Told me to relax and just drive it with a smile. He refused to charge me for it. And when I offered $20 cash just for his kindness and his time he refused that and told me to have a nice day….. Old School kind of dude my favorite people…. A really loud noise was coming from my 97 Ford F-150's rear differential. California Standard Transmission recommended Rear End Shop Livermore. I am so glad I called! I made an appointment and had my truck towed. Barry diagnosed and had my truck fixed in 1 day! He is a man of his word. He kept me posted when he said he would and answered everytime I called.

This shop does excellent work. Barry was very knowledgeable and very professional. He takes pride in his work. It's hard to find a shop you can trust. They have my trust. Barry put in a new LSD and changed the rear end gears for an OBS F150. He did an excellent job. A+++

I brought in a rearend for my 69 Camaro thinking it was an easy repair. Barry discovered an issue that i never would have figured out. We has to order some custom parts and Barry saw to it that it was put together properly. Very knowledgeable and reasonably priced. I cant say enough how happy i am. I will be back.

Over the course of the past 10 years, I've must have driven by this shop well over 1000 times. Having owned many trucks and Jeeps, gearing is always such an important aspect of the final drive of your vehicle and not many people pay attention to this. Towing trailers is quite possibly the most stress you can place on a vehicles components especially the rear axle, having the right gears makes ALL the difference. Barry and his crew are by far the BEST at what they do. My current truck is a 2014 Ram 1500 and I originally had 3.55 gear ratio and it was pulling my trailers and going up hill just fine, but I didn't want to stress the rear end any more than I needed too as I was towing between 5-7000lbs so going to a 4.10 ratio was the right ticket. I had many questions and Barry was always ready to assist and even after the install was extremely patient and courteous. He is extremely knowledgeable and it's comforting knowing that a local business performs this type of work, doing it right the first time. :) Thank you Barry and crew, you have a customer for a lifetime.

This shop regeared my Jeep Wrangler (-after it was lifted somewhere else). Also replaced the stock drive shaft with an aftermarket drive shaft, and installed Trutrac differentials. Paid exactly what was quoted initially. I've driven my Jeep off road all the way to Baja since with no issues; very happy with their work.

Berry, helped keep my old Toyota truck on the road. After 387k on the clock , my rear differential has finally had enough. From the initial phone call, Berry gave me the time of day to listen to my truck issue , and provided a clear estimate, he is no nonsense, yet gives good customer service. In my case , my differential only needed a new seal and bearings. I found the price for work , competitive, and the bonus is Berry stand behind his work with a outstanding warranty.

Barry is an absolute professional at what he does and had a very competent staff helping him . My truck was repaired for less money than I expected, quicker than expected, and repairs were better than expected. Can't beat that!

I did the regear on my Tacoma here with Barry, the owner. His team works professionally and get the job done well. Cost is very competitive (did research and cost comparisons). For those who want to get the regear/differential work done and don't want to get their hands dirty, this is the shop for the job. Plus, they have great warranty (3 years) to set you in peace of mind. A few of my friends are on their way in for the regear.

Just had a great experience with Barry at The Rear End Shop! Had them order and install 5.29 gears in my Toyota Tundra. Barry was very friendly and thorough in explaining the whole process and my truck was done in a timely manner. Very happy with the results my truck drives amazing! Highly recommend Barry and his crew. We will be bringing our 4runner to them as well.

Not a happy camper here. Barry seems like a good guy. But, lied to me of installing a wrong part that I provided, he installed a different part and told me (insisted) that’s what I gave him. I ordered (2) of the same parts. (1) I installed the other he installed. Now the I have (2) different pinion seal ring. No big deal. But, he insisted that’s what I gave him. Making me look like I did not know what I provided. Also, came in for a front locker issues. They somewhat fix it(replaced lockers only)they ended up getting a kit. But, they only installed the lockers. I had A Locker soleniod valve issues. (Part came with the kit) But, they have to trouble shoot and may take more time. (Charging by hour). I changed this part my self. They don’t like ARB or any air locker systems. Go somewhere else if you have air. The only thing I liked was, they took me in right away.

Hands-down best shop for rear end work. The owner is incredibly knowledgeable, and always follows through with his promises. I’m moving about 45 minutes away, and this will Still be my go to shop for ANY axle related repairs. Thank you guys so much for all your hard work!

I been calling shops all day and none seem to know what tf they are talking about but once i called this shop its like the guy read my mind he knew exactly what I wanted and to top it of the guys has the best attitude ever highly recomend giving him a call or going to the shop ???

Couldn't have had a better experience, honest and very trustworthy. Local dealership tried to say we needed work done that was unnecessary. The guys at the Rear End Shop confirmed that the repairs were not needed and that the parts showed virtually no wear on them.

Great service and great shop. Took my truck in for some rear differential noise. They diagnosed the issue, explained it to me very well so I could understand and had it back on the road the next week.

Gear shops are rare now a days and one that provides quality work like The Rear Shop is almost non existent. So, instead of taking chances on a junk yard or so called rebuilt off the internet. Go to The Rear End Shop! They're Fast, Friendly and do the job right the the first time.

Had issues with 2 different trucks this year and Rear End Shop took great care of us both times. Last week especially, we needed our truck back in a couple days so my son could have it at college in SoCal and Barry got it done quickly it drove great all the way down to Riverside. He was very quick to respond to questions, called promptly about what needed to be done, and super easy to work with. I'm not sure what it would have cost at other shops, but with something as important as this, it's worth the price to have a legit shop fix it right and on time. Highest marks for them for service, honesty, communication and quality work----what more would you want from a car shop these days?

I took my truck in with a growling/whining noise from the rear end. It had been looked at by another shop who said they thought it was from the rear differential. They said they had checked the bearings and they were OK. Based on this I got a rebuild differential---which did nothing to the sound. I took it to another shop who said that it was the right rear wheel bearing. When this was replaced the noise resolved. So far not so good for the Rear End Shop. When I called to ask about this I was immediately offered an apology and a FULL REFUND. The owner apologized as he had worked with the shop who did the initial diagnostics and trusted them. He said "Lesson learned" I need to do my own diagnostics every time. Check arrived today. I would certainly use this shop again for their competence and honesty.

Second time here. 2 rear ends in two cars. 75 Pontiac Formula and a 67 GTO. Both were done right and priced fair. The Formula has been running for 4 years no problems. The GTO so far so good. 1 day turnaround in that one. Good mechanics. Also put in a torque converter for me.

Expert team, who stand behind their work. I had a ring and pinion replacement on my classic Toyota Hilux pick-up. The work was finished on time and with excellent quality. My auto dealership recommended this team and I do as well.
