Great people. They helped my daughter out in an emergency situation and went out of their to work with her for a solution to her problems. Honest, dependable and kind.
My wife was out of town for work when the truck started making a terrible noise. Phil's Automotive diagnosed the problem right away, got the part delivered in minutes, and had her back on the road safely within an hour. If I could rate them a 10, I would. Thank you!
If I could give them 10 stars I would. I broke down on the Guerdon exit on an extremely hot day. I was already exhausted when I broke down. I looked at reviews and saw Phil's place. I made one call and knew I'd chosen well. They assured me that they could get me towed in and repair my car with no problem! I arrived at the shop at 4:30. They diagnosed and had the parts brought over in 20 minutes! In another 20 minutes they had put the part on and had me rocking and rolling! A good price too. This tired old lady will ever be grateful for their kindness, expertise and help!
All of the staff were great! From the tow guy Bunker to the tech Nick in the office!!! The moment I spoke to Bunker on the phone trying to find my family on the side of the road I knew it was a great decision !!! When we arrived at the shop nick spoke to the host we rented the car from on Turo and quoted us a long time however nick worked his magic and fixed the car and got us back on the road !!! Phil was prompt and very helpful when our car broke down on the road. He also recommended repairs that another shop could do to our advantage, even though it cost him the business.

We have a child who attends college in Arkadelphia and it was scary when she began to have issues with her vehicle. We took a chance on them and they did not disappoint! They not only repaired our child's car quickly & correctly, they made sure she got back to school SAFELY each time...they even picked her up when her car was ready!
They repaired an issue with her engine the first time and then a connection problem with her battery the second time.
With them nearby I'm hopeful the car will last through college! We're so grateful for them! I would recommend them to ANYONE!

A van I loaned out to friends in a band broke down on their way to Dallas from ATL. The transmission stopped going into gear. Luckily they were just outside Arkadelphia and Phil's is apparently well versed in repairs for travelers. Just read all the other reviews. Phil answers the phone just about any time of day which is impressive in itself. Nick was also very responsive and they replaced my transmission w/ a rebuilt/warrantied unit for a fair price and let me leave the van a few extra days while I arranged to fly out to drive the van back home. Phil even went out of his way to give me a ride from my hotel to the shop to pickup my van. I had one small issue: my shifter linkage is a little out of adjustment. It goes into gear fine but the reverse/neutral switch isn't engaging unless I force the shifter far to the "left" edge of P or R to get either to engage. I'm a mechanic myself so I understand what's going on and it's an easy enough fix. I was ready to start driving home so I didn't return to them to have it looked at. I only mention since someone else may struggle with such a thing. I'm confident they would have taken care of it without issue. Ultimately, if I ever suffer a breakdown on the road again like this, I could only hope to be near Phil's. The process was painless and they took good care of my van and kept it secure. Can't ask for much more.
They wanted to replace several things on my rear axle for $2000. Went somewhere else (after paying them $50 for their diagnosis) and paid $200 for one part. It's been over a year and no issues; so the one part was all that was needed.
I want to give a big thank you to Phil and his auto technicians for getting me and my wife back on the road after breaking down in arkadelphia!! Thanks to them we are able to make it back home to Texas. I would recommend this shop as it is 10 out of 10!!
I rolled into Phil's Automotive with a busted radiator. Nick was very considerate. I'm from out of town, and have been exploring the great United States while living in my truck. Being from Michigan, I was a long ways from home, yet Nick was honest, straightforward, and got me back on the road with a brand new radiator in one day. He also came under the estimate. Nick and Phil's Automotive is the place to go!
I told Phil and Nick when I brought the truck in that they had a great reputation in town and we have been here 31 years. They lived fully up to that reputation. Already scheduling the next visit for a second vehicle. Thanks fellas.
Not good transmission rebuilders. Rebuilt mine in my truck lasted two years. Took it back after a year for problems said they couldn't get it to do what I said it was doing. A year later it died. Getting it rebuilt by different shop. The shop said they used cheap parts and didn't look like they changed everything they should have. Not what I would expect for $2500.00.
My sister and I were traveling on the interstate when the BMW broke down we were driving. Phil's was able to tow us and repair the car quickly and at a good price. Kind, reliable, honest, and at a good price.
WOW! I Can't say enough about Phil's Auto and Nick Reed! My wife and I were traveling from Dallas to Little Rock to pickup our new puppy Charlie Bear. Well, Murphy's Law decided to show up. My check engine light started blinking and my car (2010 Honda Crosstour) was running very rough and shaking. We grabbed a hotel room and called Phil's Auto at 8:30am the next morning. We took our car in a little after 9am and were back on the road to Dallas with our new puppy a little after 12pm. Nick went above and beyond and even drove us back to Caddo Valley so we could eat breakfast at Cracker Barrel while he was working on our car. Once completed he came and picked us up. I would definitely recommend using Phil's Auto. Honest people at honest prices. Thank you!

I needed the 60k mile service done on my car. I checked KBB (Kelly blue book) online to get the fair estimate amount of this service prior to contacting the local shops.
Phil’s estimate was right where KBB said it should be. The other shop quoted me double the amount, which was $100 over the fair price KBB had listed for the 100k service.
Obviously, I scheduled with Phil’s since they were not being dishonest greedy gremlins.
My appointment was the following morning. I dropped off my car with Nick at the front, who was pleasant and patient with my questions.
He called and gave me an update an hour later, letting me know they were half way through and again when they were finished.
Start to finish, only few hours later and it cost LESS than their original estimate.
Phil’s is now my family’s go to auto shop. They could have inflated the prices or added fake ones,
like the other guys.....but they didn’t, not even a little bit.
They are how businesses should be.

My husband and I are traveling through for work, and after a rough night last night, Phil’s was able to get us in first thing this morning, and worked with us quickly to figure out what the problem was! Great group of people, and if we’re back in this area with truck problems, we will definitely utilize them again! Heck, we might use them if we aren’t in the area, and they’re willing to tow us to them!
I was stranded on the side of I-30.. My insurance company called one company and after 4 hours of not being able to get to me they called Phil.. He was at my location within 20 minutes. Got my vehicle to the shop in Texarkana and got me home.. Very professional service...

They work hard to make sure the repairs are done correctly and in a timely manner with the best price in town. They have the experience and honesty and take time to listen to the customer. The past two days we’ve been traveling back from Katy Texas. 30 minutes on the road yesterday the air conditioning went out. Texas 🔥🔥 heat to say the least. We stopped in Arkadelphia for the night. Around 5 am I started researching local mechanics when I came a cross Phil’s Auto & Transmissions. After reading reviews on line and researching there location I got up went down to breakfast.
After breakfast I took off over to Phil’s Auto arriving before they open hoping to be the first one in line for help. A gentleman approached me from the shop asking what I was needing. I explained the situation even though they were not open yet he took the car into the garage to begin looking at it. Meanwhile I walk to the side of the building waiting for the office to open. At 7:50 am two men pulled up to open the office. I assumed one was Phil by the T Shift he was wearing. I informed them of my problem, told them I would sit and wait until they had a chance to open up. This was a very small area with two seats. It was clean, no tv, no vending machines, just a few magazines. I was unable to get service on my phone except for calling and texting. I began my 3 hour wait while they tride very hard to help me. At one point they thought they had a solution to get us home in a cool car but after trying the idea it was not going to work. They were afraid it would over heat the car.
The technician approached me to hand me the key and told me he was sorry. I thanked him and asked what I owed him. He relied, “Phil said not to charge you”. I replied no I can’t let you do that. I began to cry. Once getting in the car headed back to the hotel where my parents were I began crying uncontrollably. I called my mom to let her know. We packed the car once again to head back to Sikeston in a hot car. While I drove the Arkansas Highway we were blessed by the trees providing some shade and relief from the sun. Then we had a few clouds help us along the way. Thank you Phil and his team!!! Trustworthy!!!
On a road trip for Christmas our mini van broke down, Phil's Auto took great care of us. They had to order a part for us, so they drove my whole family to a hotel to rest up, and even made several trips because of stuff we forgot to get out of our van. I felt like they treated us as they would have treated a beloved family member. That kind of service is very refreshing. They got us back on the road as quickly as they could, and the van was running great!
My truck broke down last week while I was driving on the freeway heading to Austin from Nashville. I was on I-30 when it happened but was fortunate to make it safely off the freeway and into Arkadelphia. I found a Chevy dealership but they only had one technician working so he told me that "Phil would be able to help me" and pointed me in his direction. Well, I am grateful for the sequence of events that led me to Phil's Auto & Transmission because Phil went above and beyond to get me back on the road. I must mention that it was almost 100 degrees out and I had my 70 pound dog with me so I was also worried about what to do with him while at the shop. Phil and Nick were wonderful, they let me sit inside with my dog while they assessed the situation with my truck. My truck was not going to be repaired so I needed to get a rental car. Phil went out of his way to help me. He drove me to two different car rental places (one of them was 30 miles away) AND he let me bring my dog with us. I was finally able to get back on the road to Texas but I have no clue what on earth I would have done had I not found Phil and Nick at Phil's Auto & Transmission. Called Monday morning because alternator failed and needed replaced. Being over 4 hours from home, and a day late from returning, time was a priority. Phil and his crew had the vehicle running before 1:30pm. They were understanding of the traveler situation and placed our need for quick repair into consideration. Price was slightly high for the part, but still reasonable. Fair labor price. Phil was extremely considerate by allowing me to drive his personal vehicle to accomodate my family's needs while waiting for the repair. Overall a very good experience. I would recommend this company for vehicle repair. Phil has been added to my list of vehicle repair places when I travel. Thank you, Phil and crew!
Phil is a great guy and really cares about his customers. I just found out he does not only transmissions, but also repairs and maintenance. I am soooo happy to find out I can have all of my car needs taken care of in one place now!
