Worst place to take in your medal. They are rude and they are unprofessional.
I went there for my first time and after 30 minutes. They asked me for my I. D once that happened, then they wanted to see my license plate and I had to have tags. Well, there was a problem, and they gave me hell for an hour and a 1/2 Finally, they told me no
They wasted an hour and a 1/2 of my time for clean brass and some wires. The employee there could not explain to me properly. Then tell me I can leave and come back as they walk in. So I came back as I walk in, and he came up to me and told me Then he didn't explain himself, correct that I needed to come another day. So I had to walk back with 200 pounds of brass and wire
Back to the car. I went there a second time and the finally. Let me give him some brass and wires. After another 45 minute way in line to be given a check
That check. I couldn't cash in just anywhere. I had to look for Bank of America, and they even give you a specific time After 7, everything was closed, I didn't know where to catch in my check. I went there a third time and they refused clean brass after I spent hours cleaning it, thinking they would like clean brass. They give you so much hassle and so much problems. The best thing is just to wake up early and go To another scrapyard, anyone is better than this one. They refused my braz being clean because I didn't have a business license
Went to sell copper with my husband from my late father-in-laws home. He waited in like for 15 minutes and was skipped in line by a “regular” of theirs that they knew by name. This was after waiting 15 minutes for them to go through random metal from a druggy. When he finally got to his turn and got the copper weighed, he went to the desk to be told that they only give checks after 5. WE ARRIVED THERE AT 4:40! Never had issues with other locations, will never return to this one. Extremely rude customer service and manager!
Website says close at 530 pm .. get all the way there at 510pm and guy said they close at 5pm. Then you should update ur website. Poor customer service!!!

I usually don't come to SA recycling often but they usually get me in and out without any complications other than their website says they buy catalytic converters which they do not.
The people there were friendly but they definitely do not have competitive pricing. I got a whopping $3.74 for 115 lbs of metal. Wasn't even worth my drive. I'm sure I wasted more than that in gas. I read someone else's review about them classifying it as tin. The same thing happened to me.
I I have been going to the scrap yard for a few months I get there between 5 and 5:20 p.m. every time I go there yesterday I arrived at 5:05 p.m. and an employee advised they were closed and they close at 5 p.m. I advised the employee that they're posted hours are until 5:30 p.m. and that I always arrive around that time he proceeded to lie to me and act dumbfounded 2 my concern about them falsifying their hours he refused to assist me even though I'm a very good customer I had to walk 5 miles caring and hundred pound load and was exhausted and to come to the find out Saver close and to be turned away was very awful and upsetting who knows what else they lie about a few times this month they would randomly be closed on Saturdays when they should be open and early during the week without any notice they are unreliable and I would take my business elsewhere because they don't value their customers
I love the people who work there , Fair metal pices, I FREAKING HATE CALLING AHEAD OF TIME ASKiNG WAT TIME THEY CLOSE THEY SAY 530pM and get there at 510PM and ITS FREAKING ClOSED...DRIVING 13MiLES running on empty tank and it's closed early REALLY SMH . Why They Gotta LIE FOR ..it's not the first time either it's been a couple ...The sight says 530 closing So What's the problem with your scheduao SNA WE got places to be also ..GET It RIGHT .IF it weren't for Scrappers you'd be out of business remember THAT...FIX IT

Sketchy place; I'd recommend going somewhere else.
I drove in and got weighed at thier weigh station, then unloaded the metal I had to recycle. There wasn't a lot there, probably a couple hundred pounds of metal (a mini fridge, a tailgate from my truck, a broken awning, etc.). Then I went and got re-weighed at their weigh station. Strangely, I weighed EXACTLY the same as before I unloaded. The woman at the desk had me pull off the scale and pull back on. Again, I was the same exact weight I weighed in at. She then laughed and said, "well I guess you just threw your stuff away."
Clearly, there was a problem with their scale, but she didn't care and had no intention to do anything about it. It wasn't worth my time to argue over a payout that probably wouldn't have even bought my lunch. However, I will not go back there again. There are too many other options.
I'm sure this place takes care of their regulars. However, if you are not a scrapper and are just getting rid of the occasional truckload of stuff, I'd be wary of bringing it here.
It's hard to find a place with a fair price for used car batteries and radiators.

The yard is very well kept, especially for a scrap yard, and the staff was helpful. The young woman at the payout window was a total hottie. She was also very pleasant and friendly. Not every day a beautiful woman is handing you cash... ;-) i'll be back!
I highly recommend taking all your material to this place. There workers are very kind and nice. Especially Clarita and Julie they always help me and have good prices. There not rude definitely like going there. There yard is always clean and tidy.
They identify the things you take under the cheapest kind. For example my husband and I took a whole lot of prepared steel metal and they catagorized it under tin! I think they do that to pay less as passible, thats stealing if you ask me. We work hard as is to find and get metal,for them to be robbing us.NOT COOL!
Everytime I go there I leave wondering what the hell I was thinking. And all the positive reviews on here have to be individuals associated with the place because I have yet to meet anyone who has had a positive experience with this business. Every other place pays more than they do despite what they say when u call. I wish I could give zero stars.
So they were the only guys open later on Saturday so I went here. I know its a scrap yard( much like my house ha-ha) but this was exceptionally disgusting. It was average to get weighed ,offload and weighed again. the yard men were pretty nice though. Going to check out OMG, was around 20 minutes to check out with no line. I was very upset that the front desk was less than friendly and I had to sign like 4 pieces of paper for less than 20$. I'm thinking of sticking with the other places.
We went on a sunday they were very busy the staff was excellent the yard guy was very helpful courteous and nice prices were comparable to others I called and quoted.. we weighed ourselves at the truck stop before we went in and it was pretty accurate.. so I felt we were treated fine.. I'd go back again
This used to be a great scrap yards. The only one open 7 days a week and were open till 7pm. Last night we got there at 6:45pm and they already had the gate closed but employees were still there. Made a 2nd trip tonight, got there at 6:35pm and they were closed again, this time nobody was there and there was 4 other vehicles waiting outside the gate. I had driven all the way across town from Marana, very upset with this place and will not recommend them to anyone. If you're going to run a business, do it right! And if you cant/dont want to stay open till the time your business hours are posted, change them!
I've been driving almost a half hour and passing numerous other recycling places for about two years to go here. I've never felt shorted and the staff has given me pointers on different metals and ways to get the most out of what I save to bring them. Ill continue to drive the extra miles to do business with them. The complaints I've read seem like they're from people that are not well informed
The staff is friendly but I stopped off at another place on the way home and they were paying 12-16% more then theses guys. On just about everything. I'm in it for the cash so I probably won't be going back. Just checked my recipe and the shorted me on about 12 pounds of cat food cans. I should of looked at it better before I left.
I've been there several times and they are some great people. Steel and iron are cheap so when I had an engine with a hole in it I didn't throw it away. I took it here and just have it to them. A hundred pounds of iron is maybe $2.50 and not worth it to me to go inside. They recycle it and I get to feel good about helping keep stuff out of the landfill.
Worst service ever I walked in and I had 2 45 pound steel bumpers of my buggy And I did research and even called other places and asked them and they told me I can get about 60 to 70 dollars but I didn't take the bumpers to them because I called on Friday and I wasn't able to take them till Saturday and by then they where closed so I picked here thinking maybe I'll get the same but noo don't get me wrong vary professional but I walked out with 1.50$ I even asked to get the steel back and he told me some one had already took it back and they won't be able to find it till they move all the costumers out and that there weren't going to go though the hassle...
So I'm just kinda disappointed but I mean forget it I'll find some other way to get money but like come on
They are ripping you off big time ,we called and they said 55c per pound , we got there and they gave us 25c per pound because the cans were crushed plus they deducted aluminum cooking pans and foil bc in there eyes it was dirty aluminum.. What Bullshit , plus they used a wire basket to put in the cans and it weight 3 pounds n then they deducted 4 pounds for the weight of the wire basket. You really have to watch out or they are taking you for everything , take your scrap metal anywhere but there bc u will be ripped off.
Be extremely wary of this company. They quoted great prices for my scrap over the phone, so great i called back to confirm them. The staff was very helpful unloading all the materials. Everything was weighed and carted away without delay as I was directed to the window. Here is where things went bad, the prices at the window were substantially lower than what was quoted over the phone. Irene, the person who answered the phone BOTH times I called, confirmed that she had indeed quoted the higher price. Despite this management refused to honor the quote, at this time I simply asked that my metals be returned. They would not bring them back! Even after several attempts to contact the owner, who refuses to return my calls personally, the issue has not been resolved. We have had our metals essentially stolen by these con artists, don't fall victim to these guys! There are many other recyclers in town who will give much better deals and care about their customers.
I really really am so glad i found out about this yard... we drove over an hour to get here and the yards we did know about all were closed. This one pays better and is open everyday for longer hours too.... thank goodness
Went to American metal for the first time with a load of steel panels i just needed to throw away. They informed me that they were actually tin and worth considerably more then I thought. Very impressed with the honest and friendly service here. I would recommend them to anyone.
I just wanted to let everyone know how amazing American Metal Recycling is. My husband sent me over there in his truck while he was finishing up a job and told me if I had any problems to call him to straighten it out. I went over there not knowing really anything about where to go or what to do but the gentleman in the back named Erick directed me to every location I needed to go to drop off all the metal. After he was done weighing the truck I proceeded to go into the front office to get cashed out. There was the sweetest lady in there she offered me a soda/water and then proceeded to cash me out. She asked me for my ID and while she took my information the man in the back office came and introduced himself to me. After she counted out my cash I told them I am definitely going to tell my husband to come back. I think Dana,Keeley,and Erick are all doing a fantastic job over at American Metal Recycling. Thank you all very much for making my experience Excellent!!!

I thought because I am a female I would be treated like I was not capable of knowing what I was doing but I was wrong. The guys there were super professional and kind and nothing less than fair. I was very pleased with my experience at American Metal Recycling. After I was done waiting for the guys to separate and weigh out my metal I went up front to get cashed out. I didn't expect the check out process to be so quick but a quick signature and check of ID and I was out the door. Thanks again American metal recycling for treating me with respect and kindness.
