What clients say about All City Towing in Tempe (AZ)

They towed my vehicle while I was working at a property I'm contracted to be at, then insisted on me paying the full fee and told me to come by and pick it up because they were doing after-hours releases that night and I work overnights. I finished my shift and got a ride 40 minutes home to get cash, then 40 minutes back to their lot, just to be told they won't release it until 8am because they only do after-hour releases until 4am. This was never mentioned over the phone. I've wasted gas and time after my shift just to still not have my car. Terrible business practices and an absolute nightmare to work with. No wonder everybody is switching to other companies.

Our car was involved in an accident late afternoon and All City Towing towed it to their yard. The next morning they called & said they needed to get our car out of their yard. They recommended a car shop that they would tow it to, but the reviews of that car shop were TERRIBLE. We instead chose a repair shop we trusted, & All City said our insurance company would have to provide the tow, that All City would not tow it to the shop we chose. We made MANY calls between All City, our insurance company, & the tow company that was scheduled to tow it to the repair shop. The tow company said All City wouldn't release our car without certain documentation, All City said the tow driver never showed. This literally was an all day thing with all the calls. It finally took a conference call with our claims agent and All City to get a straight answer. Our claims adjuster then worked on his own with All City, and then told us All City was giving him the run around. For a tow yard that called in the morning needing our car off their yard, they made it very difficult for that to happen. Finally, over 24 hours after their initial call, the tow driver was able to get our car towed to the repair shop. It just shouldn't be this difficult, and something felt very 'off' with their suggestion of a repair shop that they WOULD tow our car to, to suddenly refusing to tow our car because we chose a different repair shop. I hate it that they have the contract for South Mountain Village, & even though it's probably a waste of time, I will be writing our council member about this.

This tow company has a racket with the Tempe Police. One of our vehicles was involved in an accident yesterday. The police authorized the tow driver to relocate the vehicle out of the road. When requested to drop the vehicle, as soon as we arrived on site, and that we had our own tow truck and body shop that we already work with, we were told that because Tempe Police authorized the vehicle to be moved, All City Towing was allowed to take it to their yard. I advised the tow driver that the police did not have possession of the vehicle, nor anything that authorizes them to take property without some form of judgement. I advised the tow driver that he was hired to relocate the vehicle out of the driving traffic, but nothing authorizes him to take personal property without consent. The Tempe Police backed the driver, saying that they have a contract. I understand they have a contract to move the vehicle out of traffic, but they do not have a contract to commit grand theft auto. The company was paid to drop the vehicle on the side of the road, and the process of a police report has begun for theft. To add to the situation, the driver told me that although it is my property, he can take the vehicle. When asked what authorizes him to do so, he said "It is just the way it is". He then told me I had 10 minutes to figure out what I want to do(he had already been told multiple times by this point, of what the expectation was, AND our tow truck was parked behind him) or he was going to steal our vehicle and take it to his tow yard. Keep in mind, we did not want it in the yard due to multiple incidents previously of other crashed vehicles being left in their lots and thousands of dollars of tools go missing. When filing a complaint with the office, it is blown off. The response from the police and the driver was that we should just keep reporting it to the office. I will not let Tempe PD, nor All City Towing continue to break into my vehicles, and steal equipment because these two parties completely unrelated to me have a contract. I will be looking closer into the Takings Clause for the Tempe PD portion.
