Great place! The scrap metal exchange made weighing my car, dumping the scrap, and reweighing incredibly easy. He even offered me water – it's those thoughtful little gestures that really make a difference.
The process is easy and the yard is huge, but you might need to pressure to get your money.
A man working in the yard explained how to get weighed prior to and after dropping the scrap, and then nobody came out to give payment. There was clearly someone in the office because someone worked the light controls.
Eventually I went to a front door that was locked, then looped back around to speak with the same yard worker again, but someone else had come out of the office and was about to reenter. I had to stop him to ask about the payment process, which was just given to me right away. And it was a very fair amount. But it really looked like I was attempted to be scammed.
Unfriendly old man rude, don’t come to this place no receipt given! if I could give zero stars I would for the unfriendly and no help to be told where to go to weigh
Terrible service. My first time scraping and they didn't help at all. Got annoyed when I didn't know when to bring my copper verses steel, etc. Would not recommend
If I could rate this company a ZERO star, I would. We sold scrap metal to ME Recycling LLC dba Scrap Metal Exchange back in December, 2021. They paid us with a check. The check bounced (was returned for Insufficient Funds). We have now been trying to get paid for the past two years. At first the owner was apologetic, stating he would get us paid. Now he is either rude or just doesn't answer our calls. We have still not been paid. Beware. Go somewhere else, unless you want to give away your scrap metal for free!
After two years of bringing my metal here faithful , they are trying to so no walk-ins. I faithful gave them my business and now since I don't have a car I can't take my metal in . It really is sad that they discriminate against people with no vehicle. Very disappointed. The owners should be ashamed for losing loyal customers like that. I would strongly suggest you take your metal some where else. This place dont want anybody's business.
Nothing to brag about. Fine for getting rid of old metal. Metal scrap is valued poorly. You need lots of scrap to justify the cost of gas to get there. I had a low expectation for my trip. Nyexpectation was met.
We showed up at 4:40 and they had there gates closed and told us that there were closed even though there hours say different and his excuse was its Friday. Friday is just another day of the week do your job till your actual close time. Or change your hours. It's ridiculous that we drove from Florence for you to be closed. CHANGE YOUR HOURS OR STAY TILL THE TIME YOU HAVE POSTED
I've been using them for years but at this point, recently I've decided I may never return. I got paid out $200 for some copper, and an old steel panel and then went to one scrap exchange a couple miles away (with significantly less copper) and got paid out the same, not even a month later. I know copper prices vary but, idk I've just lost my confidence in them unfortunately.
This used to be my go to scrap metal recycling, but not anymore. They will rip you off. As an example. I had been coming here for years and was given twenty bucks each for our ptac units from my hotel. They weigh roughly 100 lbs each. A little over. And the drugged out lot here now only have gave me 15 dollars for the three hundred pounds of copper and aluminum. They are scum here now. Don’t waste your time and just go some place else
I stopped by last Friday with a pickup-bed full of old scrap metal that had been languishing in my backyard- an old wall oven, some misc metal fence posts and fencing, remnants of an old metal shed, some car parts, wiring, metal stud scrap, etc. The fellow was very nice and told me to drive across the scale, drop off my stuff, then re-weigh. I was clearly an amateur at the process but was in and out in about 10 minutes with an extra $50 in my pocket. I was so pleased at their service that I split it with him to thank him, which he refused but I insisted, as I was just thankful to find an easy place to recycle my junk! Glad I could help him out, as he helped me out. A win-win all around!
This is the best place to bring your scrap metal . Friendly service and good prices . They don't try to cut your weight down. All around great business. I'll go here anytime I'm in the area..
Best price paid here than anywhere else. Last time I went to Apache junction, 2 loads scrap metal and I got $11 and $15 a load. Here I got $76 per load.
Awesome place to take scrap. I go two or three times a year and haven't been disappointed. Also, I'm usually in and out and the staff is super friendly and easy to work with.
They were happy to help and cheerfully weighed and paid fairly for my scrap. I have gone to many scrap yards and most of them were rather unhelpful and seemed irritated if you asked for help. Not here!! This is my forever place for scrap.. MAKE IT YOURS TOO!!
Best scrap yard i have been too first time there the guy who helped me was friendly had a trailer full of scrap went onto the scale dumped the scrap came back around before i could get out of my truck one guy already had the money out and ready for me. Will definitely be back even if i have to drive the distance..
Not sure if I would go as far as loved it but between 4 & 5 stars works well. This is my go to first scrap yard as David is more than accompanying to me as I always seem to be the last customer out. The scales seem to be more reliable than some of the other places in the area. I usually end up second guessing myself at these types of business so unless you know what you have your at the mercy of the yard to pay you fairly as I believe they do. I don't feel screwed over leaving this yard, that's a good thing unlike some other places it seems like that every time. As for Guy Law tee I've seen plenty of bike riders scraping there so must have been a legitimate reason not to deal with you I'd bet.

Times are tough now. I have a stock of brass and spent all day calling across the valley. SME had the best price. I've gone back several times and it has always been a quick and pleasant experience. Thank you for the service you provide.
Super easy to recycle any scrap metal. They weigh your vehicle on entry, you off load it and then they weigh your vehicle on exit. Collect your cash and you are on your way.
I love this place, I have been taking my scrap to many places in the valley and this is the only one that pays you correctly. If you bring in a brass radiator they will run it as a brass radiator, if you bring in clean aluminum they will run it as clean aluminum, etc. This scrap place actually pays you correctly and does not try to rip you off, the employees are nice and I have never, ever had an issue here unlike everywhere else.
Very professional men here. I got in, got sent to a scale and got out, cash in hand in less than 10 minutes. Friendly, but with an absolute minimum of fuss, definitely would use these guys again.
A few notes, ignore Google mapping and go through the gate to park, not out front. If you are selling off certain metals you'll need to be fingerprinted and provide ID (like copper), but Aluminum isn't one of those metals so if all you have is cans you'll have no issues.

I own Four Peaks Junk Removal and I go to scrap metal exchange all the time to recycle metal! The yard is always clean and the staff is always friendly and unload is quick! I would highly recommend!
Called and asked if they have a magnet for unloading they said they have an excavator to unload anything we bring in, got to the place and they wouldnt start anything but a forklift to ONLY unload the two pieces i couldnt move. I also asked price per pound for mixed iron they said 100per ton but for 2 ton they gave 140 should have been 200 they give no breceipt whatsoever (super sketchy super shady) and meet you at a door with money then leave and shut the door
The are several places near by that are more reputable, with proof of everything, rather than getting ripped off and lied to
Quick, easy, in and out like I needed. Price for #2 copper beat American Metal, Junior Recycling and a couple others that I checked on first. The main reason I would choose to return here is the hassle free payment part. I show I.D. they pay me. Everywhere else, they want more info from you than what is truly needed and necessary. Awesome place, nice people.
