Our bad we thought 11 o'clock...10 yes 10 o'clock checkout!!! They do NOT tell you when checking in (there is a sign) We woke at 9:45 and had to just throw everything in the car. They require a $200 deposit on your card which we didnt want used to pay for another day if we were even a minute late checking out. We were told only if you're a "club" member. We are Hilton Honors but apparently they have their own club. Rooms are beautiful, very clean, and rustic setting. Restaurant only for dessert which was delicious.

The room was perfect. The location was beautiful. The staff was professional but not welcoming. This lodge was beautifully decorated for Christmas but did not have the ambience I thought it was going to have. Unfortunately we did not feel welcomed.

Great get-away spot with some very nice amenities. The walls were thin and so I would suggest requesting a room at the end of the hall so the morning birds don't wake you. Service was polite but could have been more friendly.

Bed bug situation. I hesitated writing this review because I hoped after speaking to the general manager they would remedy the situation but they didn’t. My husband and I checked in here around 7:45pm. We get to our room and sat on the bed to test it out and the springs were popping in the mattress and it was so uncomfortable. We went to the front desk and they offered a mattress pad to which I accepted because I was too exhausted to change rooms. They finally brought the mattress pad and set it on the ground not even offering to put it on the bed for us. So I started pulling off the sheets to put the mattress pad on and noticed extensive stains all around the mattress. I know what bed bugs look like and sure enough it was from them. I complained again to the front desk and she switched our rooms. The next room had no bed bugs but the mattress was HIGHLY uncomfortable, very firm. At that point it was like 9pm so we just stayed in the room for the night and got no sleep on that bed. I spoke w/ the general manager today and all he offered was to refund us a resort fee. Not even our night stay. I am still so exhausted from the whole ordeal I didn’t even fight him on it. I just decided to come here and warn other people they have an active bed bug infestation they are doing nothing about. Management said what I was seeing was rust from the mattress springs, which is laughable. If your mattress is rusting don’t you think you should replace it anyway? I have attached photos of the mattress and you can make the determination yourself if it’s bed bugs or “rust” before you decide to stay here. The fact that management didn’t own up to it shows me they are not remedying the situation. I highly recommend you avoid this cabin at all costs as there are better ones in the area that don’t have these issues. Response to kohls lodge: are you able to send me the ecolab report?

We came here for a birthday celebration. 7 of us in total, 5 of which were teen boys. We got a 2 bedroom cabin, which was a perfect fit for us all. Very clean, beautiful view from the porch and friendly staff. The kids loved the hot chocolate station in the lobby. I'd absolutely come back. Be prepared for wifi to be iffy. The kitchen had plenty of space. Limited pots and pans (one pan was very bowed which made cooking interesting).

Super friendly staff and great location. The room is basic but clean. Bed was a bit firm but not horrible. What was horrible was the plethora of smells in the lodge hallway. I realize the property has little control over what guest microwave but waking up at 2 AM with the overwhelming stench of Dinty Moore Beef Stew wafting in the air was rough. I tried to stuff a towel around the door gap but that had little affect. At other times I smelled curry, maybe chili, bell peppers and other assorted smells. Couple that with 8 different light sources making the room glow and I felt like I was trying to sleep through a chili cook-off rave.

All I can say about this place is awesome!It is clean quiet and in the woods. We loved it! If you like to be in the woods this is it by far. The staff was very friendly and answered all questions without hesitation. The restaurant is closed Monday and Tuesday which was a bummer but our room had a stove, pots and pans so we were good to go. I’m sure if the restaurant was open the food would have been awesome as well. We will have to go back for the experience.

This is definitely not a 5 star fancy pants place. If you go expecting that you'll be disappointed. It is however a very clean cozy beautiful hotel. If you're trying to stay near payson or the white mountains you won't beat it for the price.

I highly recommend Kohl’s Ranch! It feels like having a cabin with all of the fun and none of the work. My family and I have been coming for over 20 years and still love the tall pines, mountain views, the creek, and the peaceful setting. There’s plenty of great hiking nearby, and the hot tub and pool are perfect after a long day on the trails. The on-site restaurant is a bonus—don’t miss the BBQ brisket and peach cobbler. Andre runs the property exceptionally well, and his team—Morgan, Jenn, Heather, Debi, Gisella, and many others—made our stay truly special. Always a fantastic experience.

The room was spotless, the staff friendly, everything was perfect, and a little to far from the town and traffic, it’s a perfect place to relax and cnnect with nature surrounded by pines and near a creek. There is no cellular service, so what? It’s understandable ‘cause you are around the mountains. You connect to their free WiFi and ready. Also there is no daily housekeeping unless your stay is for more than 5 days. But that wasn’t an issue for us. They provide everything you might need enough for your stay period. Cozzy suite with a small kitchen, refrigerator and ALL utensils and kitchenware and dishwasher. Shampoo, Conditioner, body wash, and lotion provided. Keep it that way please. Husband and I loved it! Definitely would come back and recommend to family members and friends.

Great location away from the city of you're seeking sober peace. The lodges were reasonably priced and of a good size. I feel the resort fee is not necessary - this is not Vegas.

We absolutely love it here! The rooms are exactly as described. Prices are great. Service is great. The restaurant and bar is such that you never need to leave the grounds. .

Great place in a secluded area. We stayed in a cabin right on a creek! There was a nice restaurant, a heated pool, hot tub, and many other things to offer. We will most definitely visit again!

We spent two nights here and loved the place. The rooms are very nice and the entire property is pretty cool. We had burgers at the restaurant and while it doesn’t get the best ratings we had no issues with the food or service. We would go again.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from Lodge but I can say it exceeded our expectations. It’s an older lodge but everything is kept up nicely and the staff was excellent (especially Jenn). Beautiful location right next to a creek and lakes about 10 minutes away for fishing. Many onsite things to do, washer/dryer available at no charge, and an EV charger station on site. And about 15 minutes from grocery stores, restaurants, and shops.

Our room was clean and tidy. The service was good but I think communication between staff was a little off. We were told by one member of staff that we would have our room cleaned mid-week if we wanted. We were told a range of hours like from 8a to noon, which we took. We left early so as not to be in anyone's way and when we czme back, nothing was cleaned. I went to the front desk and they had no record. The person at the front desk pulled out a clipboard with a schedule on it. She said we needed an hour of time, so I booked an hour the next day. I asked for some clean towels and those were given to me. Once again, we left on time the next day and when we came back no change. I went to front desk and asked about our room being cleaned and was told that all they would do was change out the towels and not clean the room. Well, anyone can change towels. I did that already. I didn't bother going further as we were leaving in less than 2 days. Other than that, it was a good stay. I may even go back next year. We'll see what the family says.

My husband and I chose to do our wedding ceremony and reception here because it's a beautiful property, the service is always amazing, and the food is incredible! The staff was amazing all weekend, the weather was predicted to be horrible so we had to make a lot of last minute changes but they were so accommodating! 10/10 in service, the rooms are clean and fully stocked, the views are great, this is a must visit and the food is incredible.

Great location for a base to explore, and hike the areas many beautiful places. The lodge employees were wonderful. Restaurant and longe were enjoyable and friendly. Room was about what we expected. 1 bedroom with kitchenette was clean but small with what we think was an uncomfortable, full size bed for two adults. Lack of good sleep was the only drawback of our trip. Other than that we had a fabulous time! We enjoyed ourselves and will return to the lodge for future trips to do more hiking and exploring.

Stayed three nights, Clean room, could not hear neighbors, kitchen well stocked, large upright fridge, comfortable bed, dvd selection, helpful and friendly staff! Will be back. Bathroom/shower a little small, but very functional, not a game changer.

Overall, the hotel property and location were very nice, but the room experience did not meet expectations. The air conditioning provided little airflow, leaving the space uncomfortably stuffy. In addition, the beds were quite firm and uncomfortable, which made it difficult to get quality sleep. While the amenities and overall appearance of the property were consistent with this type of establishment, the comfort level in the rooms needs improvement.

Lodge was beautiful & peaceful in the forest! Having refrigerator, toaster coffee maker etc was very nice. Enjoyed eating at the restaurant right there too. It was convenient since other restaurants were located in Payson; short drive away.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom cabin and it was perfect. You're about 20 mins outside Payson and it was so nice and quiet! We slept with the windows open and you could hear the creek behind the cabins. Our only complaints were the TV wasn't hooked up to the internet (so no streaming) and the rooms were somewhat dark & could use a little more light. Those are super minor though. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat. The deck behind the cabin is so cool. We sat outside & looked at the stars in the evening and then enjoyed coffee on a brisk morning. Great place to stay with family!

Nice place but…no parking for a trailer and if you want to sleep in the dark trip the night light because it’s next to the bathroom mirror making a lot of light. And the coffee maker was broken. And we had moldy biscuits with dinner. It is a nice place and I want to love it but I just can’t.

I was a guest here and I noticed that there was some commotion about a couple having trouble with their room. I did not understand the extent of it but the assistant manager Jen was looking at me and the other guests around us laughing at this poor couple calling them donkeys! I felt awful for this couple and they got very poor customer service, no help and terrible behavior from the staff. Not to mention the I assume the security Jeff was playing along and making fun at the couple that now have no place to stay. I made it clear to my family that we would not be staying here again after seeing how the assistant manager treated this couple. I am highly disappointed and I believe their staff need intensive training and customer service and how to treat their customers.

ABSOLUTELY AVOID: ​​The lack of professionalism and basic courtesy is truly outrageous. To call the service "poor" is a massive understatement. I walked past five different employees when I arrived early, and not one staff member greeted me. ​The issues extend far beyond basic customer service. The hotel manager and staff are lazy and clearly demonstrate a complete disregard for visitor property and safety. If your parked vehicle is damaged, forget about receiving help. The staff is unresponsive and completely unwilling to assist with any issues other than automatically assigning blame. I attempted to speak with the manager (Andre), but he couldn't take 5 minutes to speak with me. Do yourself a favor and continue driving up HWY 260. You'll find better places like Christopher Creek Cabins. Helpful suggestions to the owner: - Be responsive to complaints/concerns - Be solution oriented - ​If the current level of management is the highest standard you have to offer, I strongly recommend a structural change - Have a yearly inservice training on customer service and basic courtesy

We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect wedding venue than Kohl’s Ranch Lodge! From the gorgeous ceremony by the creek to the reception under the ramada, everything was beautiful and seamless. Kyle was incredibly helpful with menu selection, preferred vendors, and walking us through the venue ahead of time. The staff went above and beyond: they set up chairs and tables, let us take photos inside when it rained, and even congratulated us throughout the weekend. Our room was upgraded upon arrival, and it was comfortable, with a stunning view. The on-site amenities are wonderful, and having everything in one place made coordinating with other vendors so easy. Highly recommend Kohl’s Ranch Lodge for anyone looking for a beautiful, all-in-one wedding venue!

Positive: Friendly staff and my room was clean and had great kitchen facilities. Negative: There is no signage when approaching from the north. I drove right by because there was no road label or hotel signage. Big minus.
