I took my car here to be repaired after a minor collision. They had to replace the front bumper and left fender. They claim to match paint well but, there is a definite difference in the original paint and the paint they put on. The paint on my front bumper started to flake off within a few months of them painting it and the lady who sits at the front desk tried to blame it on bugs. She didn’t know that I am a quality inspector by trade and a NACE 2 coatings inspector. Rather than argue and ruin my peace I just accepted shoddy work for what it was. I also had to get them to adjust the hood because it was crooked. I told the tech who brought my car out to me and he balked until I broke out my slide rule and measured the uneven gaps in front of him. They charge a premium price for subpar work.
EDIT: Came back here a few months later for more work.
The good: They put new tires on, new TPMS sensors, oil change, and an alignment.
The Bad: They didn't listen when I told them that a full size spare was on, and they need to put the original tire back on that was in the trunk. They had to get me to show them when they were freaking out about alignment.
The Ugly: After getting the car back and leaving it parked for a couple days while driving other vehicles, I got in it to discover a break in my radio where it appears someone tried to shove there finger through it. When I brought it up to the manager on their next business day, he became irate with me, insulted me, and then finally said they would buy a replacement if I agreed to never come back. Only after this did he actually go back and investigate if it was their fault.

Got in an accident back in 2020 and my car hadn't been quite right ever since. Had a complete restoration done by two different shops, and they never could figure out what was still wrong with my car. Spectrum didn't even leave the parking lot before they figured out what was wrong. In less than an hour, they fixed my car and had it ready for me. I will be making them my main mechanic shop from now on!
Spectrum helped me turn a bad experience with an insurance company into an almost enjoyable one - almost. After fighting the insurance company for another driver that caused our accident for almost a month, the team at Spectrum saved the day. I turned over the whole process and they did not disappoint. They fixed the car in a timely manner and worked with the insurance company to get the checks reissued. I would take any vehicle that needs repair work to them and would recommend the same to anyone else as well.
Last month while visiting in Memphis I was involved in a minor fender bender. It was the other driver's fault so their insurance company paid for the repair. Spectrum did an AWESOME job on my car! I highly recommend them!
Spectrum collision is the best paint and body shop in mobile Al.ive been doing business with them for 25+ years they have always went above and beyond my expectations. My 2016 corvette is shark gray metallic. It’s is a very hard paint to apply to a older car. My car was hit two different times and both times DAVID KIRBY MADE IT LOOK LIKE NEW AGIN. They also installed ground effects and a spoiler for me.
These guys were amazing and took care of me and my vehicle right away. Crazy part is they were very professional, friendly and gave me A1 CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! 5 STAR ALL DAY

Brought my vehicle in after a collision in late February. The initial quote was about 6k in damage, but further investigation revealed some more serious damage which increased to 10k which they discussed with my insurance to be covered. Due to some parts delays (outside of their control), it took a while to get the vehicle back due to being a foriegn made vehicle. Thankfully, I had rental coverage, so I wasn't stuck without a vehicle. When I did, it was in pristine condition. Runs and drives just fine and looks like it didn't even happen. Definitely recommend and will use again in the event another accident happens.
I was very impressed with Spectrum! It's not easy dealing with a totaled car and insurance and Spectrum went above and beyond to assist me. I specifically dealt with Marie and she was the most friendly, knowledgeable person that was SO helpful when I had insurance questions. It's nice to know that someone trustworthy is on your side. I will be suggesting them to anyone with automotive needs!
I had an accident on 6/19/22, my car was towed there by the city police. My car was hit from the side, fishtailed and flipped. Me and my boys were so shook up from the accident we didn’t think to get our stuff from the car. From the time they took my car around 6/7pm til the next day I went to retrieve my stuff at 4:30, someone had robbed my car of two pair of glasses, my sons brand new pair of Puma shoes, two fold out chairs, my windshield cover, and my cellphone cup holder. They have thieves working for them. And it’s sad that’s what people think of when someone has been in a life threatening accident!!
my car was towed here after being totaled. marie was EXTREMELY disrespectful and rude to me. i am here for college so i obviously don’t know everything about the adult world yet. she told me that i “should know by now” everything about my car and i “can’t rely on mommy and daddy anymore for everything”. there was absolutely no need for that. i didn’t know everything about my auto insurance because there wasn’t a NEED to until now. i had JUST gotten in a wreck an hour ago and to hear this from an “adult” was extremely off putting. i would not recommend to anyone.
David, the owner, is a really good man! He also has some awesome employees! My son's truck has been at 2 different shops for a total of SIX MONTHS and neither one of those shops could find the problem. It took Spectrum TWO days! I will never use another shop again! I will forever go to Spectrum and I HIGHLY recommend them! They're extremely nice, professional, will work with you, and most of all, they know what they're doing! Thank you, David! The staff is polite and responsive. But my biggest issue is how long it's taken them to work on my car. I dropped it off at the body shop for damage to my bumper and front driver's side front fender. It's been maybe a month and a week or two. I call and they can't really give me an estimate on when to expect my car back. They say they're waiting on parts and don't really know when the parts will be there. I'm trying to wait and judge by their quality of work but I've never known repairs to take so long for simple body damage. I like these guys but golly it's taking a while.
Marie I believe is the owner? Very friendly and helpful. Nice clean well organized business. At first I went into the service office closer to Airport Blvd and noticed it was very well maintained. Several bays were open and working in progress always a good sign that they stay busy and process repairs quickly rather than storing them!

I was here a few years ago when my car got damaged. The lady working there tried to coach me into committing insurance fraud... so one star is generous. She was like "how'd it get damaged?" and I told her. She said, "No... the wind blew a trash can into your car" and kept repeating herself. "That's what you better tell your insurance!" I was gobsmacked. Not to mention the outrageous price they quoted us. Got a much cheaper quote at the bougie BMW repair place.
Good service. Withholding 5 stars because I was told different stories about price and delivery time. But they did try to make it right. And I am satisfied with the work.

I recently moved and unfortunately can’t go to them any more, but I wish I could!
I tried several mechanics in the area for months, my car had issue after issue. Eventually, a friend recommended I come here and I did and they are great. They don’t treat me like an idiot, they know their stuff and show me what’s going on, and they won’t charge you an arm and a leg (unless, of course, they have no choice because that’s what it costs them).
I highly recommend Spectrum.
Staff was friendly and helpful from beginning to end. They even helped me sort out a rental car snafu, and the body work looks great! They actually left my car cleaner than they found it, and made sure I knew to call then with any problems.

The mechanic shop is awesome. The manager and all the mechanics really know their stuff. These guys are honest and will save you time and money. Spectrum is what a mechanic shop should be.
Although friendly, the work done on my car was substandard. The door that was supposedly fixed, door lock does not work. So they fixed the cosmetic damage and did not do the mechanical portion. Being that I am the only one that uses my car, I did not realize that my back passenger door lock doesn't work until months later. The small crack in my front bumper was patched, but the crack is right back. They overcharged my insurance for substandard work and I will never use them again.
A great team and great service. I would highly recommend using them. Stopped in for a piece of plastic having from the front of my vehicle. Food out it was a splash shield. Pulled it right in and fixed in 10 min.
After a recent major car accident in my husband's brand new F150, we were pretty devastated. We found Spectrum and were so thankful they specialize in aluminum body F150's (one of the few places in AL). We felt so safe leaving my husband's "baby" there, and knew they would go above and beyond with his truck, and we were right. They used all new parts, didn't rush the repair, and were very thorough in testing to insure everything was back in perfect condition. We picked it up this week and are so pleased with their work. We would definitely recommend using them!
The reviewer from 4 years ago gave one of the most unfair reviews I have ever seen. I do not work for Spectrum or have any ties to them. I have, however had car repairs done with them for over 20 years. A few of my own and also my teenagers(sigh). Honda, BMW and Infiniti. The work was always top notch and the people were as friendly and helpful as any I have ever known. In fact they are repairing a vehicle I own right now. I just happened on this review looking for the phone number. To Mr A Google User "One Star:" Sounds like you were pissed they didnt total it out for you. As for a PERFECT battery being killed by a dome light being left on once, you sir are an idiot. I have my name attached to this review UNLIKE you. Dont run down a family owned, honest business because you wanted cash for your clunker. A small thing like a latch switch could have be fixed in one minute. Mobile has several fine places to take your car but this is where I take mine. Just thought I should set the record straight.
