I go 20 miles out of my way to go to this Pepboys. The staff are knowledgeable and honest. There has been multiple times that they could have done work and gotten paid for unnecessary work, but they spoke honestly with me about it and let me make an informed decision. I appreciate that.
Last year I had gone to this pep boys and had a lackluster experience getting my tires changed that resulted in me having to change my own tire studs afterwards because the only mechanic with knowledge on how to perform that task was gone for the day. It was easy enough to do myself on an 03 accord in the O'Reilly parking lot so I wasn't too upset just annoyed. Recently I gave them another chance but this time dropped my wheels off just in case Tony-too-tight [I don't actually know what the kids name was] from before was on shift. Joel, the service writer, who had a very cool goatee since I had last seen him, was happy to help me with my wheels. I left him and the fellas with my precious reproduction rims/used tires, as dirty as they were. Originally I had scheduled for noon a few days before but I dropped them off around 10am, it was fairly busy and he only had two mechanics so im glad I did. By 1pm Joel called and said my wheels were ready to be picked up so I went to pick them up. Joel helped me load them into the car and wished me well. Thanks for the great service!
Went there on a Sunday. They were going to order the tires and call me with a price. Never heard back Sunday which is fine. Monday rolled around. Did not hear anything called the shop. No one knew about me being there. Went back that afternoon. Was priced at $1,200 total for four tires even though it was buy three. Get one free. Went to a a substandard tire. The price was still $850. When I asked about what they added on they automatically added on road side hazard which I did not request. Took that off and it was a price that was acceptable but I will not go back again
They tried to make me buy rotors I didn't need for a break job. The next mechanic said he didn't see a problem with any of the 4 rotors I was told I needed. He changed the breaks and I'm very happy with the service. Save time and money.. take it to Majestic Tire.
I needed tires in a hurry on a Sunday afternoon at 3:00. Pep Boys handled my tire issue quickly and before 5:00, all 4 tires were installed. After driving my car on Monday, I was wondering why I didn't go the sooner.
Tire repair turned into tire replace. Dropped off tire for repair. Told tire sidewalls were iffy. Purchased new tire. Was notified when it was ready and got it installed promptly when I arrived.
Very friendly and informative. Not only takes pictures to show problem areas but showed me on the car as well.Waiting area clean and comfortable. Also worked within my budget.Thank you Leonard,Brandon and the rest of the crew
Since my initial visit, I’ve had to return to various Pep Boys locations over five times because of issue after issue. Eventually, I found out that this specific location didn’t even perform the repair I paid for. They subcontracted the job to an auto body shop around the corner and never told me this upfront. The subcontractor misaligned the belt and damaged an idler pulley, which we through was causing the squeaking and chirping in my car.
Instead of being honest and saying they couldn’t properly fix the issue, they chose to outsource the job so they could still collect the money without doing the actual work. I understand they wanted to make a profit, but in the end, they’ve had to spend more time and money fixing the subcontractor’s mistakes, which could have been avoided with transparency.
This experience turned into a month-long nightmare. The manager, Joel, even told me I was “disgruntled” with them and yes, of course I am. Who wouldn’t be after all that?
However, I do want to highlight one bright spot: Vincent. If you have to take your car to this location, ask for him. I truly wish he had been the one to work on my car from the beginning. You can tell that Vincent takes pride in his work and wants to make sure things are done correctly. He actually cared, followed up with updates, and made sure the work was properly handled. Most importantly, he was not rude to me or my husband. He was respectful, professional, and took the time to educate us throughout the process. That was much appreciated.
Bottom line: I would not trust the management at this location, especially when they are willing to outsource work without telling the customer. But Vincent deserves real recognition for doing his job with integrity and treating customers with the respect they deserve. For that, I’m changing my initial one star to 3 simply because Vincent got our vehicle taken care.

My vehicle has been worse ever since I brought it to this location.
I came in originally to have a tire replaced and get an alignment. After the service, my steering wheel was turned one direction while the car pulled in the opposite direction. I called to report it and was told their alignment machine had been having issues and was now down. They suggested I go to another location to have it corrected.
Before I even got to the second location, I brought the car back because there was a loud humming noise coming from the rear area. My dad, who was riding with me, immediately pointed it out and said it sounded like something was off near the tire area—possibly a result of the alignment. They drove the vehicle to confirm the sound but claimed they did not see any issues. Stated I needed to replace my other tire because that was causing the noise (one brand new tire and one worn tire). I moved forward with the appointment at the second shop, where they claimed the alignment was corrected.
Soon after, I began hearing a new noise under the hood. They diagnosed it as a faulty harmonic balancer, which cost me over $1,300 to replace.
Now here I am again — the noise under the hood is back, the serpentine belt I had replaced in December is now damaged, and worst of all, my car still shakes badly while driving (which didn’t start until after the alignment)
This all started from what should have been a simple tire and alignment job. My car ran smoother before I ever brought it in. I’m beyond frustrated and extremely disappointed with the quality of service and the ongoing problems this location as caused.
I went in to the Pep Boys in Tillman's Corner for a car inspection. The manager Ricky Isaac and associate Brandon were so polite and professional! I would recommend going there yourself and see what friendly service looks like!
Came here for a single tire mount and balance Brandon swapped the tire out quick and efficiently and the Man at the desk was great also . Very cheap compared to other places if you bring your tire . Had me in and out in 30 or so minutes. Would recommend this shop
PepBoys associates at Tillmans Corner Alabama are thorough and professional and also easy to work with. I will continue to have my vehicles serviced at this location!
Had trouble starting my car, was thinking it was either the starter or alternator after I had my battery checked and it coming back okay. Took it to this pep boys on a rainy Friday afternoon, friendly and understanding staff, said they'd take a look at it. Turned out to be a loose connection. They were quick and knowledgeable and kind. Couldn't give higher praise to these guys here.
Drop my car off on Sunday per My appointment. Was notified that work would not begin until Monday and the attendant pulled my car into the bay before my Uber arrived to pick me up. Three days later they finally got to my car after repeated calls and being told somehow another vehicle that wasn't on the premises on Sunday when I dropped mine off was ahead of me. I didn't get the work done there The bill for the repair was a bit high but if they'd have done the work on Monday I'd have paid it. There's no way I'd give them $1,100 for for dragging me out for 3 days on a 3 hour repair and putting cars ahead of mine.
DON'T GO!!!!! Had appointment for a simple tire repair and after an hour waiting we were told they couldn't get to us. Got to listen to the guy upsale an oil change $90 vs. $35 sale. Despicable to treat an elderly couple this way. We'll never go back.
My overall experience was excellent. The place was clean. All the workers were kind service was excellent even though it was a little lengthy time to do what I needed place was very, very comfortable. Excellent service. I don’t remember the other guy name, but Vincent was exceptional as well as all the other workers
Vincent was extremely helpful from scheduling the appointment to recommendations on products. The waiting area was clean. Bathrooms were clean. I had no complaints!
Called this morning to see about getting in. After being on for 20 mins I hung up and called back and told I was forgotten. Went ahead and went to get light bulb replace and oil change and tire pressure checked. I was there for 3 hours and only got my oil changed. They did add some air to my tires but not to mfg spec I requested. The mgr J … acted like it was no big deal and made no effort to satisfy my displeasure. The tech B… and J… got into a cuss and yelling thing while I was there. This is not professional by any stretch. I stated that this was the last I would not be coming in and got absolutely no response. Absolutely would let my vehicle stay broke down before going back to this location. I STRONGLY would not recommend going!
Had towed to Tillman’s Corner location Sunday afternoon. Found out Monday evening, when I called, my vehicle was overlooked. Tuesday, I was told they couldn’t find the issue and it looks to be internal and recommended to be sent to a transmission shop. That didn’t make any sense and didn’t fit the symptom. I had the vehicle towed home Wednesday, a mechanic came by Thursday (this morning) and fixed the issue (axle) within an hour. Not only was my time wasted, but an axle was repaired under 6 months ago and is still under warrant my, so I was inconvenienced for days and am out of money for an issue that was covered! I was told that location isn’t the master tech location. Ok, why not have the vehicle sent there instead of five my false information? I am 100% done with Pepboys. I can’t do this with them anymore.
The staff was professional, kind and knowledgeable. There was a bit of a miscommunication I wanted my inside air filter changed because I use to smoke...they checked the filter and it was clean therefore they didn't replace it...however when I turn the a/c on the smell of cigarettes hit me in the face. I will take it back to change the inside air filter. My comment isn't a complaint I obviously didn't convey my need, I probably ask them to check the filter and they did. I've use the Tillmans Corner location for many years and will definitely continue.
Didn't help with tire problem and still not fixed and service would not help in fixing it. I was from out of town and not knowing the area . I send alot of time on the phone finding parts and it cost me over 150.00 for a single tire repair and the tire is still not repaired which will cost me more . I feel they should refund me the tire repair cost and the parts since they did do the job. The service write was more in with the phone than helping me. And the tire guy did not know what to do. Very poor all the way around.
I came in yesterday and I was very happy with how everything went! The gentleman at the front desk (Joel) was very professional and kind. I was in need of all four tires and he was very helpful. He made sure to keep me updated throughout the process. Even though it was very cold yesterday, the staff made sure they got me out and ready to go in an orderly manner. Very satisfied and will be back!!!
