My experience with the staff was overall great. My experience with the repairs was less so. I took my car in for new brakes and rotors, and received it back with a new loud grinding noise. Gave it some time thinking the brakes needed to seat/wear down a little to stop making the noise but never did. First drop off for the repair of this issue took a week. Received the car back with a new wheel bearing, being told the issue was fixed. It took no less than 5 minutes into my drive to discover that the issue had in fact not been fixed and was still very noticeably present when braking.

I purchased a used car and took it to Pep Boys on Airport near University on Saturday asking them to inspect the tires and suspension for safety concerns. Jessee advised me that the tires were 7 years old and there multiple front end suspension parts that needed to be replaced. I was not going to be available to pay at the end of the day due to family commitments, so I paid around midday for the full service before it was all completed. I picked up the car after hours Saturday and brought it home. I was out of town on Sunday, but upon inspection of the tires, they didn't replace the valve stems which must have been the age of the tires--7 years old. Additionally, I checked the paperwork provided to me and noticed that I was charged for valve stems. On Monday, I called the store and advised them of my concerns and they said to bring it in the afternoon and they'd get the valve stems replaced but not to bring them in the morning as they were very busy from 8 appointments all at 8 am. Around midday I brought the car back to the shop and dropped it off. Jesse, who wasn't working that day but he was there on the customer side of the desk, went back to the shop, and brought 4 new valve stems to the check out counter (with caps). By 5 pm, I stopped by and noticed that the car hadn't moved, so I advised Joseph that I could come get the car tomorrow, and they advised the car was next to go on the racks, so it should be ready. Later that night after dark, I drove by to see if the valve stems had been replaced, and they still weren't done. On Tuesday, they called me between 9 and 10 am and advised the valve stems had been replaced and I could come get my car. I showed up and the valve stems had been replaced but two of them did not have valve stem caps. Jesse advised me on Monday that they installed parts on my car that they didn't charge me for since I'd already paid. He advised that my concerns about valve stems and caps were minute. When the car clearly needed valve stems, I was charged for them, why weren't they installed on Saturday? I paid what I was asked to pay in full before the work was done since Jesse had asked me to pay by end of day so he could pay his workers. He offered to send me a link when the work was finished but I planned to pay part with cash and part with card. After Jesse called me to get my car, and after finding only 2 tires had valve stem caps, Jesse was anything but professional. I appreciate the work they did on my suspension, but I wouldn't recommend anyone to buy tires here because whoever is doing their tires does not pay attention to details. No matter how old my car is, I expect to get what is on my invoice the first time with a professional attitude. I shouldn't have to go back on day 2 and day 3 to get valve stems and caps. The headache and lack of professionalism makes me wonder how they stay in business. A very disappointed customer.

I was very happy with my experience there, I needed the oil changed for my mom's car and they gave me a price, which was appropriate and I let them do it while I waited on her car. I also was happy with the service, and the staff was friendly and nice. Again thank you for your time and service y'all did a great job

Our rental had tire damage and the staff here were so good to us! They repaired the damage we knew about and found a nail in another tire, too. Plus, they have the best view of any Pep Boys we’ve ever been to. And that’s not including the dog, who seems to be running the place. Thank you!

The disservice that was done to me is outrageous. I took my car up there to just get an oil change. I was the first customer of the day. The employee told me that it will only take a few minutes to do and oil change and rotate my tires. Another customer came into the store and the employee stop working on my car and proceeded to work on their car instead and was not going to stop working on their car until I said something. He changed my oil but did not rotate my tires because I had to leave, I had been there for 3 hours. Two weeks later my oil light came on in my car showing that my oil was low. How? I bring it back to pepboys, and they say they can not find any leaks but decide that they just did not put enough oil in the car. How? One week later my car is now leaking oil. I bring it back to pepboys, it is now decided that yes you are leaking oil and burning oil somehow, we put more oil in and can you come back next week so we can see where its leaking at cause we do not have time today to look at it and when you come back it will cost you $50 for us to just look at it. What? I ended up taking my car to the dealership and found out it was a gasket that pepboys did not tighten up when they did the oil change originally. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO PEPBOYS.

Stop in to get inspection on my truck to do Lyft. Received great customer service and the wait time was short. I would recommend this shop for anyone looking for a great group of guys and fast service.

i accidentally made an appointment for the wrong location, but they were still able to get me in and replace one of my tires and do an alignment for me within about an hour and a half! was a reasonable price for the tire, alignment and service as well! i don't remember the name of the technician who served me up front, but he was super friendly and personable, and gave me some great recommendations on which tire to go with since the rest of my tires were still in good condition. i'm quite satisfied!

A couple of days ago my valve/core came completely out of my tire & my tire was going flat. Luckily I was across the street at the gas station. I got it over the Pep Boys & explained that I had to get back to work quickly & I could not afford a new tire at the time.
Dee replaced the valve/core & put air in my tire. Not only was he very fast & professional, he was also very kind when I was almost in tears.Aug 07, 2025 -
When my car signaled a low tire, I pulled into the first tire store I saw - Pep Boys. They put on a spare and helped me locate a tire that matched my other 3. Jason, Dee and others were extremely helpful, kind and attentive! Of course, I was cash poor and unable to leave a nice tip…but I will next time!

I was advised to bring my vehicle to this Pep Boys location because they have a master technician who could assess and fix what the Tillman’s Corner location had messed up. After inspecting the car, they confirmed that the serpentine belt and idler pulley were damaged during the harmonic balancer replacement done at Tillman’s. There was a loud squeaking noise coming from the same area, and visible damage to the belt could be seen.
I called back after they replaced the belt and pulley to let them know the noise was still present, and the manager claimed he wasn’t told the belt was making noise at the initial repair. He never spoke to me directly — only to Joel from the Tillman’s Corner location. That’s not my problem. I clearly explained from the beginning that the belt was squeaking after their repair (harmonic balancer).
Now I’m being told they can’t take another look until Saturday or Monday because they’re busy. Honestly, it feels like they’re putting this off because it falls under a warranty issue, and they won’t make any extra money off fixing what they messed up. I’ve reached out to the district manager and was told not everyone can work on a Mercedes. I was given the option to take my vehicle somewhere else to get serviced and they will reimburse me the cost.

I was told I had a leak in my coolant bypass hose on a 2007 kia Sportage. This is a 12.00-dollar part. I was quoted right at 500.00 dollars to do the job. I know companies like this need to make money, but this is highway robbery. This is about a 30min to a 1 hr. job to complete this. This place would get my business if their prices were a little more reasonable. Since when do mechanics charge over 400.00 hr. for labor. They charged me 39.00 dollars for an inspection which is reasonable. I was told what needed to be done so I did the job myself. I would give a 5-star rating if it wasn't for the prices.

I've been taking my 2016 Dodge Ram Truck to them for years but it looks like I'm going to have to find me another spot because I made an appointment at 9 a m. but I'm not able to get my vehicle back until 7 p.m. The only way to get it quicker is to sit and wait, I thought that is what the appointment was for, not to let others without an appointment show up and be seen before me because they will sit and wait. NOT COOL! Thinking about finding a new place to go.

Pep Boys has been my auto go to for over 15 years. Yesterday they did a complete inspection of my vehicle. I became aware of what repairs were needed. Purchases new tires & had rear brakes done. Staff friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.

These folks are great! I had a spare on my car after a flat tire. I had taken the original tire to the dealer out of town and had it replaced where it was under warranty. When I got it back to Mobile, I needed to have it put on my car. I called Pep Boys on Airport. Megan told me to bring it right in. They changed it immediately, neatly replaced the spare in the well and refused to take a penny. What lovely folks who remind us that quality service and a neighborly attitude still exist in business! Thanks, Megan and Pep Boys.

They damaged my wife’s car while replacing a set of tires I had purchased. I contacted them immediately when she got home and we discovered the damage. I sent the district manager pictures and he stated that the claims department would get with us. We’ve not heard anything back and the damage has gotten worse. I’ve contacted him since with no reply. I’ve now contacted the company and hopefully will hear back soon.

Great service, honest people. A lot of car repair places feels like the people are slimey and trying to sneak one past you. But the staff was friendly great and explained things simply. Made me feel confident that they were doing right by my and their business. Would definitely come back!

I would give O stars if possible. Left my truck for an oil change and to find out where water was leaking from. They told me that for an extra $40 they could run a complete diagnostic of my cooling system. After doing so they said the radiator had a leak and that it would cost $1061.00 to repair. Then they call me and tell me after replacing the radiator it was still overheating, even though it had never overheated before taking it to them and that it needed a new thermostat at an additional $150. When i picked up my truck the next day, they told me they had pressure tested the entire system and everything was perfect. However the next day, coming home from work, my truck over heated. I took it back to pep boys only to be told that my water pump was bad and had to be replaced at an additional cost of $600. If the water pump was indeed bad, this should have been detected and fixed along with the radiator when they pressure tested the system. Now I'm out $1200.00 and I still can't drive my truck, and this truck was running perfectly fine with only a very slight water leak before I took it to pep boys. Never again, totally dishonest in my opinion..

Personnel was argumentative and not welcoming. I had to wait a while to check-in and the check-out process too longer than usual. Most importantly, at check-in I asked them to ensure windshield wiper fluid was added to my car. Again, I asked them to make sure hat it had been done at check-out. There is no fluid in my car. This is the 3rd time. I will not be entrusting any Pep Boys location in again. This has happened at 3 different locations between 2 states which indicates a brand problem.
UPDATE! I attempted to give this location another opportunity and the Store Manager Jason was the WORST to work! He was rude, talked over me, was dismissive, and when I called him on his behavior, he refused service, told me that he did not care if I called corporate and asked me to leave, DO NOT GO HERE FOR ANY OF YOUR SERVICES! You will be disappointed and angry!

The young man that serviced my needs was named Leonard. He was very kind, knowledgeable and professional. He honored the time of my appointment and took care of my car right away. It was my first time using Pep Boys and he made sure that I made use of an available coupon and was very courteous and respectful. I am very satisfied the experience that Leonard provided for me.

Dropped my car off for a check engine light at 9 am wanted to be called to see what the issue was before fixing it. All day I waited until 6:20 PM I got a call telling me my issues, and it wouldn't be fixed today the mechanic is also not coming in tomorrow so they want me to come back later. I thought giving them 10 hours to work on my car was enough to get it fixed today so I wouldn't have to drive. I don't know if they didn't look at it until right before closing or they just didn't call me until then. It'd be a little better if they had someone in the next day but I'm going to have to drive my car with two broken sensors. Wasted money and time and now I have to find a new mechanic.

This doesn't deserve the one star I was forced to give it or I would not have been able to leave a review. In my opinion, Pep Boys should be prevented calling themselves 5 Star Service. They should be out of business. They admittedly ripped me off by repairing something that was not needed, charging me for it and not being able to actually fix what was wrong with my vehicle. They gave my car back saying they couldn't fix it and never offered a refund on the over $850 that Pep Boys "stole" from me. They gave my vehicle back with parts missing and the cooling fan unplugged (pic included). I took my vehicle to another shop and it was fixed in 1 day, replacing a small module (pic included) costing about $150 plus labor. Pep Boys are only good for tires, I don't think I would trust them with an oil change. I have also reported them to the Better Business Bureau in hopes that no one else will be ripped off by Pep Boys' inadequacy. WARNING - NEVER EVER USE PEP BOYS! I will never again use them for ANY reason!!

I will never use pep boys again! I went in for an oil change on May 14th. I also got them to inspect the car as I am about to sell it. They call me to say my battery is bad which is fine I knew it was coming. It's what I see when I pick the car up. I'm missing fender clips and they scratched my car. The manager told me I have to get two quotes for them to fix it. Why do I have to get quotes for something they did? I also emailed pep boys corporate hoping to get a response but nothing. Terrible company all the way around.
