Took my vehicle in for a simple 4 tire replacement and left with more issues and I was billed for services not performed. Took the vehicle back in and the issues were not resolved. Overall very disappointed and would suggest using a local tire shop that values the customer and is honest.
The store manager at the location located in Mobile Alabama at schillingers rd and airport boulevard where very courteous and knowledgeable. He offered us the managers special. I had an oil change, tire rotation and a battery replacement service, and they also included windshield wipers. Arrived at 8:00 AM that morning and they promptly finished my car at 11:00. Excellent service with knowledgeable employees. Would recommend pep boys to all my friends and family.
Update: Stay clear of this one on Schillinger and Airport, they don’t stand behind their work. I had an oil change, alignment, and tire rotation and as soon as I left I felt a little shake. This happened on a Friday and I was too busy to come back until Tuesday, honestly thought it was just because of the rotation and maybe the wear was uneven or something but when it didn’t stop I came back and explained what I was feeling. I believe it was the assistant manager maybe even a manager not sure but they guy became very rude, very defensive very sassy and started trying to argue with me telling me this and that wouldn’t cause my wheels to wobble. I ask if he could simply take 5 min as I thought it was something minor like maybe the tech didn’t tighten the lug nuts in the 5 stare or something because I had no wobble before so it must have been sokethi bf simple, this was at 3pm and he told me it would be hours and basically that he couldn’t check my car today. I begged if he could again just take 5 min as NO was there waiting and any cars they had (looked to be only 3 maybe even 2 in the bay) clearly had been dropped off and no one was physically there waiting so surely they had 5 min. to help me. Needless to say after going back and forth with this guy for 5 min (the 5 min he claimed not to have) I went up the street to the one at airport and university by the fire station and they took a look right away and apologized for the other store and said of course they had 5 min to check my car for me real quick. We found the issue and I was able to leave with no wobbling. The other location had other cars that had been dropped off as well but again no one actually there so of course they helped a paying customer with no problem with a quick issue. Customer service goes a long way and it cost you nothing to be kind. The assistant manger at the Schillinger store had always been kind up until now and he turned into a complete jerk simply because I asked if they could look at my wheel and maybe take it off and retighten it because I originally thought that’s all it was. He does not need to be the head of anything if that’s how he is going to treat customers as soon as someone has any sort of issues. Also the one in Tillmans corner is great too!
I will not recomend this place, I purchased tires with them ,they installed it ,took it home on the way home noticed my cat felt bumpy, come back to them ,worked on it , I take again doing the same thing ,come back, they tell me to take it to another pep boys because the balance machine might not work ,go to another still the same ,next day come back for my money , they didn't wanted to refund ,they same didn't have the tires ,so I had to wait for 2 weeks to have them change .. so I ended paying for a new a.diffrent tire.. Bad bad customer service.. No emphatic at all.
Joseph was Amazing! One of the nicest people i have ever encountered at PepBoys. He was so nice, patient, and helpful. He got me in and out and I really appreciate it!
Joseph did it again!! My last appointment was 2024 and now its 2025 and he got me in and out! I didn't get the guy's name that did my oil change but he was super nice too.
Received an estimate for the repair work needed. The estimate included a part that was quoted at $500 but only cost $100 for me to purchase myself. Do your research RockAuto is a good source for parts and find a trustworthy mechanic. Save your money.
My experience has been a nightmare. Took it to 2 different pep boys and still not fixed and I would not recommend anyone have there vehicle worked on at any pep boys. And the pep boys on schillinger I have more problems with it now. I would love to get a refund and take it to a good honest mechanic that won't lie and fix what's wrong with my vehicle. Cause it's not godly to lie to anyone.
Great service from the front counter staff, very kind and will listen which is very important when you are a customer trying to get your point across. They lost a star due them being short on mechanics a lot but overall they do a great job and I’m thankful to the crew.
All employees at the Pepboys location I visited were nice and professional however they accidentally broke off a stud while rotating my tires and it took a long time for the part to arrive and for them to fix the problem. I also had to go back the next day to have them rebalance my tires correctly! Everything is fine now!
Went to get my 2004 Corvette serpentine belt replaced made the appointment and made time in my day to go to do just for them to tell me that couldn’t do and made every excuse instead of taking blame or trying to fix the problem if I was the owner I would instantly fire this employee for losing business for being lazy.

i got my oil changed not too long ago and let me just tell you joesph is one of the most respectful hard working individuals i’ve came across at pepboys. he made my visit fast easy and very comfortable. joesph is great! i will be returning when or if needed.
The best place to go for all your vehicle needs. Mr. Huggins always has the best customer service and the fastest repairs. I refuse to go anywhere else as long as he is there.
Absolute joke of a car shop. My fiancés radiator needed replacing because it had a leak. They quoted $1,100 total. We ended up finding a radiator for $300 at O’Reilly’s, which is the standard price, and replaced it ourselves with a buddy of ours who used to work in the industry. He said Pep Boys most likely jacked up the price of their radiator from $300 to $500 and then charged $600 for labor, which is insane!! Stay far away from these scammers! Not only that, but we ONLY wanted a diagnosis on his truck and NOT a fix just yet but they were going to fix it anyway without our permission. He had to call and tell them AGAIN not to fix his truck. Crooks!

They’re taking their sweet time on my car and I’ve called 10 minutes before they closed and they’re just letting the phone ring. They’ve had my car for three days. All for a problem that they didn’t fix the first time
Worst service ever. I bought tires from this pep boys about a year ago and I also bought the 70 dollar per tire extra warranty. I dropped off my car to have the tires rotated because the front tires were worn down, about 30 minutes later they called me back and told me they wouldn't do the tire rotation because the tires were too bald and then tried to up sell me new tires. I not saying I wouldn't have gotten new tires later but I just didn't have the money at that moment to buy two new tires. I feel like the safer thing to do would have been to rotate the tires so I don't have a accident instead they refused to rotate my tires and opted to try and up sell me. I would not recommend this pep boys and I will not return to buy my next set of tires or any set of tires from pep boys I hope anyone who reads this also boycotts them as well there are better options available. 1/17/25 I'd also like to add if the owner happens to read this, if my tires do cause me to have a accident and you don't honor the road hazard warranty I will be taking legal action against this company.
Customer service agent was extremely informative and helped me pick a better set of tires with longer mileage at a better price and got a complimentary checkup on my car. New tires and oil change and it didn’t take all day!!

My very first time having such a grand experience at any tire service establishment. The staff was very friendly and David went above and beyond to make sure i purchased the right tires for my vehicle and that I was satisfied with my purchase. He even called after my tires were installed to check and make sure everything was good. Thanks for the extra time and patience.
That day, I got my car serviced at Pep Boys. The service tech at the counter assisted me in explaining what was wrong with my car and why it was making that awful noise. I ended up changing my oil and getting a diagnostic because of his excellent and honest advice and impeccable customer service. Because of this employee's service today, I plan to make Pep Boys my go to shop for all services.
Absolutely wonderful experience! I live an hour away from Mobile. My daughter currently has softball tournaments & I had issues with my back tire on our way up here. During game transition/break, I brought my vehicle to have my tire checked because I was worried about driving home. They got me a new tired placed in perfect timing where I didn't miss my daughter's next game & now we can make it home safely! The guys were nice & informative. Great customer service. My wife brought her vehicle in for balance, rotation, alignment and a leaking front passenger tire pressure. Driving out of the lot with paperwork of all services rendered and paid for and something didn’t seem right. We stopped to inspect literally within 500’ of the PB location. Found a nail still in the tire she reported having low pressure, and that the dirt on the wheels is smudged only at the air valve indicating the tires were never removed for any reason. But they added air! When we confronted the front desk and Asst Mgr we were asked to come back later and they’ll do the work this time. How can you trust a business like this??? Sending someone back on the road with a reported tire issue saying everything is fine and they took care of everything is beyond unprofessional.
UPDATE: We met with the Mgr, Tony. He checked the tires and verified no work was done to the vehicle. He also added that we were charged for balancing when we have lifetime balancing plan on this vehicle so we should not even have been charged even if the work had been done. Tony was extremely apologetic about our experience. He is refunding our money and opening an investigation. Pepboys has been notified and an investigation is being conducted at a higher level as well.
Their attitudes were completely different than when I went at the end of last year. My tires were reasonably priced, but I had to go back 4 times after my low tire pressure light kept coming on. It's been just over two weeks since I had to go again. I'll have to think about going there the next time I get tires.
