The "mechanic" JT don't know what he doing. He tries to guess what the problem is which ends up costing you more money. Let the owner, the older guy work on your car, not the short guy.
Recently (4 weeks ago) I was faced with the very costly issue of replacing my intake manifold, which is a time consuming repair. My search for a mechanic lead me to Car Doctors Automotive and I can honestly say the work the owner did was impeccable; not only did i get my car back in a timely manner but I even received a follow up call to see how my car was running; that made me feel like a valuable customer. If you go here, there's 2 workers, the owner (older guy) and a tall younger guy. USE THE OLDER GUY. The younger tall guy will have you spending more money than you need to. You can go to Advanced Auto Parts and get your Check Engine light read then take it to the younger guy name Chancy or something like that and he'll "fix" everything but what the problem is. Then when you keep bringing it back, he'll say his machine is throwing another code. Well come to find out, he's inputting the wrong car/year in the OBD which throws the code for that car, not mines. I'm convinced he does it on purpose too because I was talking to someone else who car he was working on in the parking lot and he told me this was his 3rd time back for the same issue but he keeps getting charged to change different parts. That sounds about right since you have to pay him directly and it appears he pays the owner a set "booth" rent which means repeat visits = more income in his pocket. He took advantage of my wife and didn't actually fix her car properly until I showed up with her and asked him to fix ONE specific part.
Fixed my alternator and actually picked up my vehicle from my house for a reasonable price. The fixes were greatly priced as well and the men were very helpful
