Took my car in for diagnostics as a result my car issues was from previous repairs wrong parts installed my another place. Upon finding this out this repair shop decided to fix the problem without notifying me to the tune of $1300. The owner Bob tried to tell me that my husband okayed the work without a price quote?? The diagnostic price was all that was agreed upon $199. I paid $373.99 I guess diagnostic plus labor not sure but to say the least when I ask for a breakdown Bob started to crawfish not clear of the math I decided to not have his work done so I asked him to undo what he did. That’s when he and his front desk attendant Jennifer got really ugly to add insult to injury I was asked to never come back. When asked for receipt they gave me a copy that was not legible saying it was no ink in the copy machine?? Red flags started flying so unprofessional is all I say I do not recommend this place I’m sure the technicians are great because I chose this place based on reviews so if you take the chance just beware of Bob the owners rude and obnoxious ways.He said they don’t give a price before repairs they just fix the problem and charge you ?? I never get any thing done without a price I’m sure no one does. My first thought was how do he know if I can afford the work?? Bad business at its best please be ware people. His behavior is terrible !
Stood directly in front of me and told me cupped tires weren’t cupped after telling me they were nice. Said he’d “set them fire before he took less”

I spoke with Jon yesterday about helping me restore an old 240z for my nephew. He was very knowable, and easy to talk with. You can tell a car guy when you talk to you, and I look forward to doing business here
F&D is the only shop on the Gulf Coast I trust with my car.
Their labor rates are very reasonable for the market—especially considering the exceptional quality of work they deliver. The owners are honest and upfront, and the staff is second to none. This is where all the local automotive enthusiasts take their vehicles, and for good reason.
To put it into perspective: I’d send my mother there with a blank check and tell her to follow their advice. That’s how much trust I have in their integrity and expertise.

Extremely happy with the care that F&D took with my Prius. It had two of the catastrophic issues that Toyota refuses to fix under warranty (brakes and headgasket) and F&D not only correctly diagnosed the vehicle, but they gave us a very fair price. We had to wait a few weeks while parts and such came in, but it works beautifully now. The staff are very pleasant and knowledgeable, and I really like their online system where you can review your diagnostic on your own time. Will be going here for any and all future car needs!
F&D is easily the best mechanic shop I’ve taken my vehicles to in Mobile. Jon and Bob are awesome, thorough, and very communicative when they have my vehicles. The inspection along with notes and photos is something you really don’t get anywhere else (in my experience). They are fairly quick with turnaround time and pricing is reasonable. Of course what matters most is the work quality. Each time I’ve been here, the car is fixed when I pick it up. That’s something I cannot honestly say about many other places I’ve been. I’d give more stars if I could. Great job, guys!

Just had work done on two of my vehicles and, as always, great work was completed at a fair price with super transparent discussions about what needed to be done.
If you are looking for a fair and honest service center with an owner and employees who know what they are talking about and will give you fair and accurate information - THIS IS IT. These people will even tell you when it’s just not worth fixing. They will always be my “go to” auto care provider.
When I tell you this is a great place to visit , for car services, even though you have to spend money to get your car repaired or fixed The best prices the nicest customer service experience, really just about everything you can ask for when you already have to be out of pocket for money. I have a BMW he did a very great job more than once more than twice and he will see me again if anything else happen I've sent plenty of customers to him and will continue to because Bob and the crew dose what they are there to do. Had my 22 Porsche GT4 oil change done by BoB and his team at F&D. The customer service was amazing. Bob and his team were very professional and friendly not only with myself but to all customers who entered their business. F&D took care of my car as it was their own personal vehicle. The mechanic did not leave oil prints all over the inside of my car and no prints on the outside of my car either. I really appreciated the way the took care of my vehicle. I have found my new mechanic shop for my GT4 in Alabama.
Bob and his crew are, hands down, the best in the business. This is my second time using them to work on my Tundra, and they go above and beyond for their customers to make sure everything is done correctly. The quality of their work speaks for itself. Bob was trustworthy and fair with me until he wasn't. I have taken my cars and truck in before and outside the one time he kept my Highlander for 3 days and still didn't fix the breaks, things seemed fine.
I made an appointment through his little email appointment maker prompt for my F250 to get some routine maintenance done, the AC fixed and the rear doors to the super cab fixed. All listed in the little appointment maker thing so there should have been no surprises when I got there.
I dropped the truck off at the appointment time, 9:30 Monday. I mentioned to him this is my one and only work truck that I use for my business every day. He said not to worry.
He kept my truck for 5 days and didn't do anything at all to it.
Not even an oil change or a tire rotation. Notta.
Didn't even diagnose the AC problem or the rear door issues so we could at least order the parts if needed. Did absolutely nothing.
He did offer some consolation excuses though. One that was it took 3 days to get the transmission filter, which still left 2 out of the 5 days he has the truck, and the other excuse was all used up by 2022.
I'm still curious what the transmission filter has to do with the oil, tires, AC, rear doors and breaks.
This was not fair, professional, and certainly not trustworthy.

I certainly didn't plan on getting into a pee pee match, but here we are...While I can understand being a busy shop, that's still NO excuse to not get anything done on my truck at all in 5 days especially since I made an appointment. I didn't know the appointment app was the end all to adding things to be done. And actually, since we're here, there were 10 things listed in the appointment, not 8, so yes, I added 4 more that I thought of during those few days I was waiting on my APPOINTMENT. And 3 of those 4 items were minor.
I've not ever been to a business where the owner didn't actually want more business.
And yes, I COMPLETELY agree everyone that drops their vehicle off needs it back as SOON as possible. I'm definitely part of that crowd. Which is DEFINITELY why it should have been handled better. 1st in 1st out would be a perfect solution to this problem.
If "saying to my face" is in reference to the things that were said to the technician, in front of me, about it might take a while because "there's 14 things on this list", and I said "that's why I planned on leaving it a few days" and y'all both laughed and laughed and laughed... I literally took it as a joke.
Now, after the response to my review, I see I was clearly being mocked and made fun of. You can be sure this is not fair or professional.
It clearly seems as if there was NO effort to get the ANY of the work done on my truck. Now I don't run a service shop, but I do run appointments for my business. And I consider them VERY important because it shows a HUGE amount of RESPECT for the other person's time and effort. A lot of shops are set up as tires are one station, oil and lube is another, diagnostic is another, major repair is another, breaks are another. And so in and so forth. No reason to have maybe 70 to 80+ cars come in after I dropped my truck off, come and go, and I get no work done. It really just an odd way to run it.
It was stated there are 2 levels of technician that work there and that makes perfect sense. It would have been cool if in that 5 days my truck was there, I could have at the minimum gotten the oil changed, the tires rotated and balanced, and the diagnostic work performed so we could at least know if any parts needed to be ordered...this would have gone a LONG way to remaining fair, professional and trustworthy.
Like I already said...to bad so sad. If they ever get to the work, it always been good. When I initially started bringing my vehicles here, they were able to fix several issues that other shops had wrong. Plus its only 2 minutes from my house.
Disrespecting someone's time doesn't bode well. It's not fair, professional, or trustworthy.

I can not say enough wonderful things about Foreign & Domestic Autocare. They stay busy and there is a reason. Thorough inspection delivered via text message with detailed notes and photos. Only charge you for the work you approve and they are very reasonable.

Sent my 1997 Mazda Miata to these guys for a full diagnostic after blowing off the harmonic balancer. They were really busy and booked out, but they still helped fit my car into their busy schedule. They performed compression testing to ensure the engine wasn't damaged internally and even advised of a few issues they found that they suggested repairs for later down the road if they become a bigger problem.
I dropped it off, and they had it fixed and ready to go relatively quickly, considering all the work they had to do. Even though I told them to just take their time, they exceeded my expectations and had it ready pretty quickly. The car is now back in my possession and better than I remember it being before it broke. Seems a timing belt and properly adjusted timing resolved all my issues.
Bob and the staff provided great service! . Professional. Finished my 2008 g37s infiniti in a timely fashion. Took time to update me on service and explained what was going on with my car even though I am a female. I'm thankful for their help!
Bob and his crew are always the BEST!!!! THEY HAVE TAKEN CARE OF EVERYTHING on our 2010 Mazda 3, they have fixed & redone everything on her... From the shocks and struts, fuel tank replacement, motor mounts, I mean everything I could've recommend a better place then Foreign and Domestic!!!!!! This last time we came in for a lot of knocking in the trunk sound... They changed the swaybar links... Well the knocking got louder and louder... I know my Mazda very well, told Bob what I thought it maybe.... It was the bolt was loose on the links, and he tightened them no charge... Now I'm on the road and she rides like a dream

Bob and his crew did excellent work. They kept me informed and updated when o gave them a long list of items I wanted fixed on my truck. They are very affordable and did exactly what they said they were going to do to get me back in the woods and safely on the road.

The most trustworthy mechanic and tire shop around. These guys do not sell you added things just to make a buck from the customer. I have been going here for years and have recommended countless people to this shop. If you think your mechanic is a little shady and probably getting over on you , ditch those guys and go see Bob and John. You will be a lifelong customer.
10/10, 5/5, All the stars I can give them! The best car repair experience I had ever had. I was in the middle of a 3,000 mile road trip and had a wheel bearing going out on a Friday night! I searched online and saw good things about Foreign & Domestic Autocare, so I called and left a message for them Friday night. I got a call back from Bob on Saturday morning and headed to the shop.
They were able to get me in on a Saturday morning, get the bearing replaced and have me back on the road in short time. It was great! They didn't charge me for coming in short notice or give me any trouble about it. The price was great as well.
Bob was super friendly and even offered me some donuts they had! If I lived in the area I would only use them for my service. Again, I will be forever grateful to F&D for their amazing service and kindness!
