Had some electrical issues dropped it off in February made phone calls in between kept getting the same “ well start on it in a day or two” I picked it up in May it was laying on the concrete with stuff on top of it and scratches all over cowlin. If you are an avid fisherman and used your boat often do not waste your time here.
These are some of the most knowledgeable, honest people in the world. Whether your looking for a used or new part for your boat or boat motor, they most likely have it or they'll find you one. They stand behind the parts they sale and the owner, Mr. David, knows more about outboard motors than any boat motor mechanic I've ever dealt with so if you need a part or just needing a question answered about your outboard, give them a shout. I know they'll be glad to help.
Would not recommend to anyone I mean anyone we called the owner he answered and said he would be here around 1:30 3:13 rolls around and he is still not there at 4:09 he shows up
I took my boat to then for a simple repair. They told me I needed a whole new mid section. The owner told me it would be done in two weeks. It’s been ten months and they still have it. I get the same answer every time I call them. We are working on it.
Helpful, very helpful. Mike and David has been there not just for me, but with me also. The workers also, even the customers that comes in relays boating info that's very enlightening to one another!
I called thinking my engine needed to be rebuilt because of low compression. The gentleman on the phone walked through everything on the engine with me and told my my engine did not need a rebuild and why it didn't. Very professional and knowledgeable. Thank you again for setting my mind and wallet at ease
Very fair prices. He didn’t have a lower unit in stock that I needed so he rebuilt one for me and sold it to me at a used part price. I couldn’t believe it. Great deal. I’ll keep going back.
The Guy there David is dishonest and not to be trusted do not take your boat there !!!!! Kept my boat for 3 weeks never authorized repairs but have 600.00 plus Bill. Took him to Court the Judge saw things my way will be going back to court for Court Cost see you soon. Already court order my Boat back to me see you real soon in Court again. No one at this place is a Certified Marine Mechanic I learned the hard way thank you Bill at Steal Creek Marine for fixing my Boat right and in a timely manner if you fool with back yard mechanics that's the type service you will receive don't find out the hard way like I did.
These guys are liars and crooks!!! I sent in a request a request on 5/19/18 to Daivd at outboard repair and salvage for him to honor a receipt for a 200 hp Mercury outboard motor. I had problems with it from day one. They kept it for over a month and still wasn't fixed. I took it to Steel Creek Marine who is a certified Mercury outboard repair dealer. They told me that it was not a 200 hp motor but a 150 hp. Big difference. THAT'S FRAUD. He also said it had major problems and need to be rebuilt. I have a written statement of the inspection. So I spoke to David of Outboard Repair and Salvage. He stated he would replace it. I dropped of my boat to get the new motor exchanged. I asked him to please have it fixed by the end of the week. I called on that Friday and he said he was looking for one. Then I called several times to see if the boat was ready but I got no answer. I finally got someone to pic up on Friday 6/30/18. TWO WEEKS LATER!! They said David would have to call me back. He called back and left 2 messages. 1 saying he was still looking for a motor. Another saying that he found one and would have it ready by Monday which was 7/2. I have the recorded messages. I called to check on it and the secretary now says it will be another week. Unfortunately I have waited and waited and waited. ITS NOW 7/21. There seemes no concern in fixing this problem in a timely manner. I have lost time, money, vacation waiting for this problem to be corrected. I have missed 2 fishing rodeos that tickets were naught for including the Dauphin Island Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo. I have paid for not just tickets for the event but also for my brother I have not seen in 3 years way to get here to fish with him and my dad. They dont seem to care the fraudulently sold me a wrong motor, that wasn't working either, nor trying to fix the problem in an expedient manner.
