The fine folks here have saved my family from certain death in the frying pan here known as summer. They fixed two cars AC systems quickly and affordably. If you have car problems, this is the place! Edd and the crew are honest old fashioned trustworthy people.
Went there a month ago for my blower motor because it was going out. Just recently took it back because finals are over and I had time to get it fixed. They are knowledgeable and talked me through a lot of the things that I had questions about and on. Had my car ready to go the same day I dropped it off( I know it’s not something major but…). Service is great, able to give estimates, and also reminded me of the warranty. All and all 10/10 and I will be recommending them to others. It’s just nice to know that you can depend on a team of people to get the job done, as I am far from home !
I have lived in New York, Florida, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and now Alabama and I have NEVER been to an autoshop that I've trusted more than this. Some background, I drive a +25 year old camry and a +19 year old Ford Explorer which makes me an easy target for mechanics to point out tons of "expensive" issues that in reality don't need any fixing. Auburn Generator & Starter Services has been a blessing to say the least. They're honest, trustworthy, and quite possibly the best thing about living in Auburn. I will never bring my cars anywhere else again

I have known Edd over 27 years. He knows his stuff and takes care of his customers, so he has a tremendous returning customer base. I usually do my own work, but when I need a hand, he is who I go and see. He rebuilds alternators and starters for me. It's sort of a hangout for some interesting locals, so sometimes I just drop by to see who's in the shop!
Amazing work ethics and professionalism. Got a caliper issue on right front tire. It was fixed within 3 hours. Bryan did a great job. It’s got to be the best mechanic experience I have had in the country. Plus Ed gave me a cookie when I left!! They turned a bad news into a great story! They have been around for 40+ years and know what they are doing. If you have any car issues in the Auburn AL area, try them first!

My daughter goes to Auburn. She has trouble with her Honda CRV. The starter need replacing. Auburn Generator and Stater did the work and did a great job. Unfortunately, a few weeks later she had the same problem. Ed the owner replaced it again for free. No problems until she came home for the summer. The alternator went bad and had to be replaced. My mechanic here in Birmingham did the job. Just a few days after that the starter went bad again. Not sure why the starters had problems but Auburn Generator and Starter took care of me by refunding my money, actually Ed refunded me $60 more than I paid from my troubles. The starter was replaced and now no more problems. Auburn Generator is a great place and they are friendly and fair!! I would Definitely use them again!! Thanks Ed & Auburn Generator and Starter for putting the customer FIRST!!

Rob and staff was super amazing. I was traveling from Ga to Al and noticed an unusual noise. I google and found this shop. Rob was able to look at my vehicle and fix the problem for me to drive back Ga. The price was amazing and I'm so happy they were able to help me. Thank you all so kindly. Amazing experience and definitely going back! I desperately needed new brakes but being from out of state I struggled to find a place that I felt comfortable with and knew was going to treat me well despite being a college student.

Took our car there today expecting to pay upwards of $300 for a new starter or something else. Edd figured that it was actually just a broken battery cable/clamp. Fixed us up for $25 and we were on our way in less than a few hours. Thanks for the honesty and friendly service.
Total jerks. After calling to ask about having a starter rebuilt and told I needed to bring it in to get a price, they quoted me about $20 less than I could purchase a remanufactured one at O'Riley's. When I tried to talk with him about the price he rudely said, "Well, bye!" and walked away. I looked at parts for rebuilding the starter are $30. So much for trying to support local businesses.
Old school shop. The mechanics are knowledgeable are dont try to up sell you on things you dont need. Its nice to talk to a mechanic who cares about your vehicle instead of a repair salesman.
My breaks got messed up from another service shop and they refused to fix what they broke. I came here and they fixed the problem within a few hours for an INCREDIBLE price. Hundreds less than the other place wanted. Not to mention, they went above and beyond to explain everything to me and to help me in every way possible. Amazing customer service and amazing work.
My truck decided that it would not crank while staying in Auburn for a few day. After calling around several shops, I decided to go with Auburn Generator and Starter Service. Edd (staff) was able to walk me through on how to temporarily get my truck started so that I could get it there for further diagnostics. The guys at Auburn Generator and Starter Service are knowledgeable, honest and friendly which is the reason they have been in business so long. This should definitely be the repair shop of choice for any parent with a son or daughter attending school in Auburn. Don’t let the name fool you; I’m sure that they can help you or your love ones with any automobile repair needs.
This is the most trusted shop in town. They do good work in a timely manner. The guys there are polite and respectful and they never make you feel dumb. My only complaint was that they fix the stuff before calling you. Maybe they only did this to me because I have been dealing with them for a few years, but I prefer a phone call.
Nice guys, but they sell refurbished parts without telling you and conveniently do not keep records, so that when the part they sell you inevitably fails, they will have no recollection of the incident. Would not recommend
I would never want to go anywhere else ever again. They are exactly what you need when you have any questions about your car and they will definitely take good care of you!
These guys are straightforward and honest. I like to do much of the work on the car myself, but I've taken my aging 4runner there for all sorts of more complicated fixes and they always do a great job without overselling the repair.
I was an out of town student starting school at Auburn and had unexpected (as always) car trouble. It was 3pm and most shops close at 5. I explained my situation and being a student and they were more than helpful and still fixed my car that day so I could make it home. "Rob" was very nice and honest. I plan on returning in the future if needed.
