  My husband is a very frequent visitor here. He went today assuming he’d have a great experience as usual, and the girl (he’d never seen before) that was working had an attitude as soon as he walked in. His scrap weighed 300lbs and she paid him for 120. Just ONE of the motors he dropped was 190+lbs. So she rang him up for less than the weight of one motor. He watched the entire time. She cussed him out afterwards when he came back in with his ticket wanting to know what was up. She didn’t want to sign it or pay him for his first load so someone else had to come up to finish. Didn’t give him a ticket for his electric motors. You’re supposed to get a separate one for those. The entire experience was absolutely ridiculous and he won’t be back. Really sucks that one person managed to ruin how a whole family thinks of a business.

  Called ahead as I was going to be there right at the cutoff time. The girl said I would be ok but to hurry. She was very nice. I hurried. Pulled in right at 345 and the guy said the gate was closed.... But it was only halfway. And wouldn't take me. However they took someone else... Just plain rude. Standard Iron and Metal is always nice and if you're slightly late they have a little grace. This was my first and only trip to SA.

  If I could give them no stars I would. The woman that answered the phone this woman was so rude then has no knowledge of common materiales. I tried to ask her another question and she hung up in my face. I usually take all my things to Rathers but was pressing for time but instead will go to Stand Iron & Metal where the customer service is better the workers actually know the material they are right up the street and pay the same.

  They cheat you on the total weight of a vehicle if it still has everything except fuel tank and wheels and tires. People check your GVW that's the total weight of Vehicle!!!!!! It's usually on the door jam or door drivers side front door!!!

  Only reason it gets 4 out of 5 is because they damaged my trailer a little. But other than that it's best people are friendly and helpful. Plus the beautiful girls at the desk made it worth while.

  Worst place to scrap they rip u off an make new rules all the time for thangs they cant take an the guy takes cans is always rude go to recycle usa their really good to their customers I wouldnt of even gave a star but to post this I had two .

  My experience was very speedy and professional are you choking and their price was decent. The only complaint is roads through the yard is very rough and full of nails. So if you plan on visiting make sure you bring a spare tire or at least a plug kit. In my experience at least 6 out of 10 times that I've driven through the yard I've ended up with a piece of metal or nail and one of my tires

  Good scrapyard, no issues here. They take most everything. Refrigerators and other appliances are good to kick off the truck for shred price. They also have a separate price for separated non-ferrous stainless, which some yards in the area do not.

  700.dollars load bales of scrap from florida. Cost me to replace 2 tires and over 1,000 dollars to repair my fb trayler. Crane op.need more Training . To my fellow drivers be ready to Keep pro ves. OSHA.

  Have a train blocking Vanderbuilt during rush hour in day 1 if the 20/59 shutdown. I hope they can improve their schedule during the next year, or at least be prompt and courteous by putting a notification sign up!
