awesome place to load probably the cleanest scrap yard I've ever been to. looks like you can park there but not ib the best area might not recommend it.
Thanks to the Guys I talked to they pay Top Dollar I recommend bringing your recycle to CMC Recycling they just don't take Vehicles... There scales are accurate!!!
Very good service at the scales. Good prices. Had a difficult time finding different places on the yard to dump certain items. Like copper at 1 building, steel at another spot etc.
CMC has the friendliest staff around hands down. I was greeted with a smile and throughout the whole process, even tho it was only my second time here encountered nothing but kindness and patience. Tim, Dre (Mr.Smith) are AWESOME SAUCE. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a Genuine and pleasurable experience.

Quint Jones answered the phone, gave me directions, explained the process, and gave me pay for my cans. Tim Ray weighed my cans and asked if I had any questions. Also, Andre weighed more cans for me. This is by far the best yard in or around B’ham......on the same day we took off a load of batteries car hoods and other aluminum to a different yard the experience at other yard was absolutely horrible!!! No communication AT ALL to go out in the yard you had better have 4 wheel drive or know how to drive like you do have 4 wheel drive & the prices where ridiculous!!! So we decided to try CMC recycling and by golly they was on top of it VERY friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful!! They have definitely earned our business! Thank you Quint & Alan for your help!!
I've never been to a scrap metal place before and give this one 4 stars because I blame all the confusion on myself. I entered over the exit scale, drove around the recycling yard getting in the way of forklift traffic but when the employee eventually had a chance to catch up with me, he was calm and polite and after a quick inspection of the truck load, showed me the way to the entrance scale.
The place is a little hard to find and has 3 entrances. 1st entrance you see when pulling of 27th Ave N is CMC Express which offers smaller, more accurate scales, sized for the bag of cans or the trunk full of scrap, the next entrance is actually the truck exit, and the 3rd entrance has the drive-on scale for trucks/ pick-ups entering the scrap metal place.
With a mixed load of iron, stainless, and aluminum, we weight the pick-up first, unloaded the main load (Al) with the help of an employee, weight the pick-up again, circled back to the CMC Express unloaded iron and stainless, got our weight tickets, and drove back to the main office between entrance 2 and 3, where we handed over the tickets and got paid. A colleague with a load of the same kind of aluminum stopped only minutes apart at a different scrap metal place in the same area and got $ 0.37/ lbs Al while we got $0.43/ lbs. In summary: Calm, polite and better pay warrants 4 stars.
The 5th star would come with speedier transactions, bigger signs, and a web site that would show a map where to pull in, explains what to expect, and shows the current scrap metal prices.
Gave quote prices over phone and they matched the prices given. Customer service was excellent very polite and helped with unloading and directed me where to go at each drop spot. Will definitely use them again for Pro Services LLC recycling needs.
By far the best customer service I've ever had, very friendly and intelligent staff, highly recommended for any scrapers out there, in my opinion this should be the only scrap yard to go to.
I sell scrap metal every day & some days I may sell 2-3 loads. I have sold my scrap to every scrap yard in the Birmingham area and also in Shelby County but today was the first time I've sold to CMC. Honestly, I thought this scrap yard was for commercial use only, but a guy at another yard told me they buy from the public also so we decided to check them out. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised when we pulled in! They were very quick about getting us in and out, the yard was very clean, the people were friendly, and they pay more than the other yards in the area! They also informed me on how I can receive more money through coupons, incentive programs, and promotions! I was extremely happy with their service and I had a great experience with them so I will definitely be using CMC Recycling to sell my scrap metal in the future!
