Came in for what was an exhaust repair. Flex pipe had a leak and needed to be replaced or a new pipe welded in all together. We were in from out of town and just needed it to get done. Were quote $8,000 for this repair. $8,000. Went to another shop nearby and had it repaired for $200 + tax. Just want to hopefully keep others from getting scammed. This was the worst interaction with a auto shop that I have ever experienced.
WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO YOUR WORST ENEMY.
HORRIBLE DIAGNOSTIC SERVICE! We have a 2018 Ford F150 that we bought new and never had a prior issue. While vacationing, we started hearing a shuttering sound while driving 20- 40 mph. We took it to Gulf Shores Service Center to diagnose the problem, as we had no idea and were 600 miles from home. Within hours, they diagnosed it as a transmission issue, suggesting to remove & replace the transmission fluid & filter. They also suggested removing & replacing our differential pinion seal, the brakes and suspension shock assembly. We elected to have them proceed with the 1st two items for a total of $2000. They did the work in 3 days which we thought was reasonable as we were desperate without a vehicle on vacation.
Upon getting our truck back, it made the shuttering noise AGAIN within the 1st hour of driving. We hoped it was a fluke, so kept driving it that day and it didn’t make the noise again, until the 2nd day. We knew then they HAD NOT DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AT ALL or fixed it. We started looking up our truck model and symptoms on the internet and immediately found people talking about issues with the 4WD IWE vacuum leak. We called the service station and told them what we found ON THE INTERNET, asked them to look again and felt we should not be charged for diagnosing again. THIS TIME we were told they were very busy and probably wouldn’t have time to look right away. Our truck sat for 2 full days without hearing a word from them this time (as opposed to immediate items we didn’t need the first time) We went there personally on the third day to ask the status and were told they would drive it today to confirm that it was the 4WD IWE vacuum leak issue, and upon confirming that we asked that they disconnect 4WD electric switch so that we could drive it home safely. They DIDNT SUGGEST A REPAIR OPTION, OR APOLOGIZE FOR THEIR MISDIAGNOSIS!! Even if our vehicle needed the service they performed, we didn’t take it to them for that and were relying on their expertise to help with our immediate concern. We complained to their technician CJ, and requested a credit of $200-$300 for their INCORRECT DIAGNOSIS AND OUR INCONVENIENCE and he said absolutely not. We asked to speak to the owner Justin and CJ said he wasn’t there but would have him call us. HE NEVER CALLED.
Vacationers are dependent on their service when they have a problem. We would NOT RECOMMEND using them. It appears they just want quick money for whatever mechanical issue they find EXCEPT WHAT WE WANTED THEM TO DO AND ENDED UP DISCOVERING OURSELVES ON THE INTERNET!! Lesson learned the hard way for us..look it up on the internet before taking it anywhere!
Very professional. Actually inspected the vehicle and gave me a list of what needs to be done. I've taken it to other shops and said check it all out, let me know what it needs. They always do the bare minimum. This shop was great! This was my first time there and plan to continue. Thank you Gulf Shores Service !
These guys did fantastic work on my daughter’s car. Its very nice to have a reputable automobile repair shop that stands by their work and won’t take advantage of customers. Also, their customer relations person Tish is THE BEST! She handles everything professionally and follows up on what you need. You will not go wrong using GSSC!
I had a great experience with the team at Gulf Shores Service Center. They were honest about my car problems and that's hard to find in this industry. They were willing to work with me on pricing as well. I will definitely be going back! ☺️
My headlights weren't working right. GSSC did a little thinking "outside of the box" and made them much brighter and aimed correctly. I think better than a dealer would have done.
We took our 2011 tahoe here for service they said it would be over 3,000. to get fixed. We then asked people that live here who they would use to get a second opinion and took it to sweat tires in foley. they fixed it for 900. would never recommend your business
After a month of having a nail in my tire, it was losing 10lbs of pressure per day. I stopped in at GSSC and they had me back on the road in less than 30 minutes!! 👏 lightning fast, friendly, and honest service with a super fair price. To boot, this is a local family owned and ran business. 11/10 recommend
I was having issues with a past vehicle and I brought it in and was taken care of in a quick and professional manner. I felt the price was well worth the knowledge that their techs had and am overall very satisfied with my visit here. Will recommend to other people in the future!
Very honest people. Got right to my car. No hidden costs, you get an estimate and approve each thing before the work is done. They gave me a ride home and picked me up when my car was ready. They were very knowledgeable and friendly. Definitely recommend!
2013 Chevy Suburban would not start. They determined that I had water in the gas tank. They empty the gas tank and filled it with good gas. Unfortunately, when the put the fuel pump back in the gas tank, they did not get it sealed correctly. This caused us to smell gas fumes when the tank was full. They did honor their 24 month guarantee and paid for the repair in my home town.
They did a great job had belts changed oil changed. At pickup they gave me a run down on a whole vehicle inspection they had accessed Car Fax for the vehicle history. Professional service. Thanks!

Excellent place to take your vehicles. Had a rattle on my F150 that 3 other dealerships couldn’t figure out. Had the technician Derek let me know what the issue was and what he did to fix it. Truck runs quiet again. Highly recommend Gulf Shores Service Center. Also had oil change and front brakes done.
I was visiting Alabama alone when my car just up and died one day. As a 65 year old woman on my own I admit I was nervous. I called the local Chevy dealership and they said they could get me an “appointment “ 4 days later. But then they said that would only be an appointment to drop it off and they wouldn’t even look ok at it until 3-4 days after that!
Then I called this garage. They came to my condo in literally 12 minutes, jumped my car, had me follow them back to the garage and 45 minutes later I was out the door with a brand new battery and assurances that all my other concerns were taken care of. I confidently drove 16 hours home 2 days later. I can not say enough good things about all the people who work here from the initial phone call, owner, techs and assistants who kept me company while my car was being worked on.
The price was much less than I was expecting including the jump. I don’t do a lot of reviews but these guys are worth every minute of my time.

Very friendly and professional employees. Thoroughly explained any issues and helped me understand the repairs. They text me a detailed quote prior to any repairs needed. I drive a 20 year old Lexus and have been using this business for the past several years for maintenance and service. I know I can trust them for their honesty and competence. I have also needed the towing service which is contracted through AAA and is likewise very reliable!
Took my truck to a dealer where it sat for 2 weeks without them even looking at it. Then took it to Gulf Shores Service Center where they diagnosed the problem the same day. They ordered parts and had me back on the road 2 days later!!! Saved me a bundle in the process by figuring out the real problem and that I did not need a new transmission! Very friendly and highly knowledgeable—will definitely go back! A+
I had my vehicle towed here at the recommendation of AAA, instead of where we were originally going to tow it, telling me that they were a reputable establishment that offered AAA discounts. I agreed then saw all the negative reviews saying they were unethical, had no integrity and were high-priced. Their cost for diagnostics was $190 vs $41 at a nearby reputable shop. They said they do not offer AAA discounts except 10% on parts. They sounded rude when I told them the cost for the diagnostic seemed too high so we had the vehicle towed to the other shop. With the expected diagnosis of needing a new alternator I called them back to get their estimate. Again, in a rude tone told me they would not be interested in working on our vehicle. You can use your own judgement on why you think they wouldn’t work in it with a diagnosis. Check Yelp and Facebook
My wife and I both drive used vehicles that are bought and paid for. Gulf Shores Service Center keeps them running for us. You get the service you pay for with them and they’ll tell you what’s wrong but no hard sell tactics. They are honest, diligent, and stand behind their work, which is why the locals love them!

A diagnostic was done to find All problems on my Jeep. A text was sent with each finding, and cost for repair. I only chose the main repair at the time, and they explained what was entailed in the job, and also the other problems found to be repaired in the future. They got my Jeep in, and repaired as quickly as possible! They also shuttled me back home the day that I brought it in.

Zero integrity here. I was offered a battery change for $300 plus the cost of battery which I did on my own in no time. The real kicker tho is I was told my water reservoir was cracked which I never had a problem with and they would fix it for a pretty penny. I inspected it myself and there’s actually no crack but rather they detached the hose from the reservoir themselves causing all the water to fall out the bottom. Icing on the cake there’s a cosmetic piece of my bumper missing now. Save your time and money and go to bon secour tire.
Over the labor day weekend I received excellent service from Chandler who towed my vehicle and they were open Monday, labor day, and took a look at it when no one else would. They also help me find something left in my car when they really didn't have to. Going that extra miles meant a lot. Great, service and very nice and helpful people. Thank you so much.
Driving from Tennessee with a axle seal problem we finally made it to Gulf Shores. We were hesitant to trust just any service center not being from the area, but we surely lucked out. We were lucky to be able to have our truck looked at the next morning and the entire staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Where we could have easily been taken advantage of, the owner was trustworthy explaining everything in detail and clearly could have charged us for unnecessary work after the diagnosis. He was so thorough taking his time to explain. I would highly recommend this establishment. They are fair, trustworthy, knowledgeable, and go above and beyond. We were even driven to a rental car place by them and the entire time we felt we chose the right auto repair shop in the area.
We were on our way back home from staying in Gulf Shores for about a week. Upon packing up the car, we noticed one of our tires was exceptionally low. Gulf Shores Service Center was able to take us immediately, find the issue, and patch up the tire in 30 minutes for a really great price. Folks that work there are friendly, knowledgeable, and understand most of their clients are probably visitors. I definitely appreciated them getting us on our way quickly! Would definitely recommend if we return and need auto services.
I had an amazing experience at Gulf Shores Service Center! The staff was incredibly friendly and kept me updated throughout the entire process. Most other shops couldn’t service my AC because it’s a newer car, but they had the latest equipment and handled it with no issues. Their pricing was fair, and I really appreciated the detailed list they provided - outlining recommended services in order of importance, complete with price quotes. It made planning future maintenance so much easier. Highly recommend!!
I have been doing business with these folks almost ten years. Their prices were always a bit high, but the work was good, so I stayed a good customer. Over the years I have recommended many people.......That all stops today!!!
Yesterday I was having some issues with my 2003 Tundra. The gas pedal was acting weird, so I drove it up there, told them what was wrong, and they said they would look at it.
Today I got a text which included an entire list of things that could be wrong, all the way down to air pressure in my spare!!
I thought oh no, is this some kind of scam?
I sent back a note saying I was only interested in the accelerator...They said they were working on it and would let me know...Another hour or so they sent me an estimate way over a thousand dollars. I told them I didn't want it fixed and would be by to pick it up. When I got there the lady was very nice, but told me I had to pay almost two hundred dollars for the "work" they already did....When I told her no one said a word about charging for an estimate, she simply said I didn't know that...But it didn't make any difference. If I wanted my truck back, I was going to have to pay. All of this to say that this was one of the shoddiest deals I've ever been involved with. And the sad part is if they did this to me, how many others have been treated the same way. Shame on you Gulf Shores Service center....Service need to be removed from your name....
