I Have been there several times and the staff has been friendly every time and have been extremely helpful. They are normally willing to help you unload with their magnetic excavator attachment.
Extremely busy. They use a magnet with a crane to help empty your trailer as long as its wide enough to get the magnet at the scrap. Very good scrap yard.
Super helpful and knowledgeable. What a terrific resource we have with Kienbaum right in Whitewater! That they are open on Saturday is really convenient too
Over the top excellent customer service. I would say by far the nicest people I’ve ever done business with at a recycling yard. Honestly the nicest people I’ve ever done any kind of business with! And in this day and age, that is a breath of fresh air! I don’t know the woman’s name who usually answers the phone and runs the office, I’m assuming she’s probably the owner. She is extremely helpful and goes above and beyond for customers. She was even prepared to stay and wait for me to arrive as I was driving a hour to get there. (I was on time but still, she was willing to wait.) She is absolutely wonderful to work with. I just wish I lived closer so I could take my recycling to this business every time. If gas wasn’t so expensive, I seriously wouldn’t mind driving an hour every time I recycled. The reason I end up going there is because on Saturdays, they are open later than any recycling company in Southern Wisconsin. 3pm!
*Side note: I think what I love most is that the awesome lady who runs the office reminds me of my mother.
Scrapping a car can be so stressful and these guys made it as convenient and pleasant as possible. Dawn and Jay were fantastic. My boyfriend was very sad about getting rid of his car and they were so sweet about it. Dawn was endlessly patient and helpful over the phone and Jay was efficient and friendly. Highly recommend!
For sure these folks have super business persona , I’ve been going to kienbaums since I was a little girl lol Tom girl with my Dad Fred Kelln jr,now of course it’s my first choice to recycle scrapp or aluminum cans what have ya , allright well Thankyou for many many lol years of kindness n alil spending cash beer money just playn what have ya ,,, see ya Monday , have an amzing spring n summer n stay healthy n sassy ;) peace, Sincerely janine m . Pretty poor place if you ask me, we had to HAND LOAD 3 10 foot beams on the back of our flat bed and this nice man came over to help us with the beams. What I’m going to assume was the manager, came over and told him that he could not help me and my husband lift these beams that were about 60lbs each beam. The older lady wasn’t the nicest, but the younger one was absolutely amazing. If just the younger one was there, I would definitely go back. The amount of disrespect in this place just from that one woman is unreal..
Fast, easy to follow once you know what to do. There are many signs, can be confusing to those who have never been to places like that. Once weighed. You are directed to the specific pile to unload. After you weigh again. Park and go in for payment. Prices are better than most in surrounding areas. For those who regularly scrap.
I take all of my salvage metal, copper, lead and aluminum along buckets of scrap nails, screws and bolts to this company. The staff is very accommodating and professional. It is also a great place to get your frustrations out when throwing your old memories of the past when involves scrap metal like old lighting fixtures, metal furniture frames and mowers that don't work anymore. I also feel that I do get the right amount of money for taking it here.
Just as most will attest, these guys will give you the least amount for anything you bring in unless you know what you should garner. Do your research ahead and shop other yards too. Before the recent management, you could expect to get even less.
Watch ur weights and they give you sheet iron price for #1 insulation computer wired and alter will give you #1 copper insulationed price for it not sheet iron price like kienbaum will do and take all ur catalytic converter to Judd's in lakemills they give you the right price not 30.00 for any cat like kienbaums dose
I would give 0 stars if i was able to. They will rob u blind on your return scrap. Would have went somewhere else but needed the money never again will i let them rob me. I got less than a third of the real price. This place is no more than a garbage dump. Robbing u of ur hard earned money. Dont scrap here take it the extra mile it will be worth it. Got 16 bucks when i should have got 50 im telling u go the extra mile small hick town bs rob u blind with a smile.
These guys are great. Been here a few times now getting scrap metal for welding projects. Every time they're nice, a great deal compared to buying new, and always have useful bits lying around.
