Made an appointment, I told them the type of vehicle I had and told them I had a crack in the exhaust right in front of the muffler. Dropped off my vehicle at 7am when they open, they called me at 3pm to tell me they couldn’t not fix the problem. Said it can’t be welded back together(which they didn’t even clean up the metal around the crack) they said they tried for 45 minutes and charged me 103 dollars. All around piss poor experience.
I am so grateful for Jim’s Automotive. About 18 months ago, I had a misfire code on cylinder 3. My car would occasionally not turn over on the 1st try and did not idle normal when stopped. I was told by the dealership that I needed an engine replacement for which I was quoted $18k. I questioned this as they hadn’t done a compression leak down test at the time. I was told that per their conversation with a certified Nissan technician that this was 99% the only solution to my misfire with Nissan Pathfinders. I spoke with the service manager and was able to get the compression leak down test only to find out that I was the 1% that would not need a new engine but instead a new cylinder head. At that point, I had lost faith in their ability to get my car repaired. A co-worker referred me to get a second opinion from Jim at Jim’s automotive. Jim and his team were able to remove the intake and clean the carbon build up off the values as well as cleaned my fuel injectors. I no longer had issues when starting my vehicle and the idling issue was not as noticeable.
2 weeks ago, my check engine light came on and it was a Sunday so I took the car to a local auto parts store to have them read the code. I had started having issues with acceleration and the idling issue had become prominent again. Their code reader informed me that I needed a new fuel injector for cylinder 3. He stated that this would be an easy repair as this particular fuel injector was located on top and in the front of my engine and anyone mechanically inclined could fix it. I ordered the fuel injector from Nissan thinking that my husband could replace this as he is mechanically apt, only to discover that this fuel injector is located in the back of the engine block and he would not be able to repair this. We are leaving for a family trip in 3 days and I was not comfortable driving the 700 miles round trip with my car as is. I called Jim’s and spoke with Joe despite being booked into mid-August he was able to work me into their schedule. They not only installed a new fuel injector but also did another carbon cleaning on my intake values. They have a new cleaning system that uses walnut shells and they were able to provide these amazing before and after pics of my valves. I cannot explain what a difference it made. My car accelerates normal again and I have zero jumping when idling. If you are looking for a fair, honest, and knowledgeable service technicians, then Jim’s is the place to go. Their customer service it outstanding!

Have been using them the past couple years and have not been disappointed! My vehicle has been in for oil changes and tire rotations to rebuilding the rear end and changing gears in the transfer case! Haven't had an issue with anything they have done! Jim and Joe have been great and usually keep me in the loop with repairs that are needed or maintenance that's overdue (which I usually am aware of). Thank you!
The best place for vehicle repairs that I've ever worked with. They're great at diagnosing issues and making realistic quotes for their work ... no surprises. Customer service is always outstanding. They provide a hometown touch that makes it easy to be a repeat customer. I'd never take my vehicle anywhere else.
I picked up a screw in my tire recently and raced over to Jim's Auto before it went completely flat. They had me in and out within a half hour. Very pleased with their service.
Fleetfarm sold me a tire for my trailer, but had NO STAFF TO ACTUALLY MOUNT MY TIRE!!! THE INTERNET led us to Jim's... $22 and a peek into a quaint small town. EXCELLENT service. Also, later on a tour of the throttlestop museum found that THEY use Jim's as well! Great stuff!!

Jim's Auto is the best repair shop I have ever been to! Family owned and operated and they make you feel like you are part of it! Willing to work on any make/model and work inside your budget. A quality job with safety as the primary concern, but also does not hesitate to give you the heads up on a future repair so you can prepare for it. Good communication from the front desk to the mechanic means everyone knows what's going on with your vehicle! Best value by far when it comes to keeping your car, truck or camper running reliably! I got my 2010 VW towed to them. They didn't contact me till following day, told them that it was the ignition cylinder that was broken. They told me 12 days.. and 300$... 15 days later when I arrived to get my car, they gave me a $600 bill!! With NO CALL they upped the price over 300$ and we're very rude!!
Hands down honest people!!! I personally had my truck worked on here and were able to replace my steering rack and get me back on the road. Also provides you with a free loaner car as well (which is super nice of them). Just had my girlfriends car there due an exhaust leak (was told manifold was cracked and needed replacement). Joe and the guys were able to diagnose the real issue of a bad rusty flange on the catalytic converter and in need of new gaskets on the converter. The manifold was not cracked at all!!! Repair ended up being $300 less thanks to their honesty and not fixing the wrong issue! Definitely recommend them for sure! Was originally referred to them by S&T Motors in Howards Grove (Thanks Steve!).
Everytime I’ve gone work is done on time my last review was honest but I’m changing it works always been good they’re friendly also price is definitely honest Ive checked with other shops before I tried Jims a wheel bearing was 350 at one shop and 190 at Jims for the exact same brand if you’re gonna go somewhere Jims is the place to go

I had a bit of an emergency last week when trying to return to Minnesota after vacationing in Wisconsin and ended up needing a new tire. Not only did Jim allow me to come in right before closing to determine what the problem was (and put on my spare tire), but he was able to get a new tire for me and put it on first thing the next morning so that I could be on my way. I could not be happier with the professional and prompt service I received, especially in my panicked state. Thank you so much!
Honest, fair prices, loaner available (usually), good work, normally can squeeze you in if an emergency, trustworthy.... They have been our go-to shop for our family for over 15 years! Actually, probably closer to 20!
