We live 40 miles away and had a truck issue where we couldn't continue driving. We contacted Jerry's and he got us in even earlier than expected due to having an extra bay added to his garage with an extra mechanic. In on that Friday and finished Monday morning. The bill was very straightforward and reasonable. Jerry and his staff are very welcoming and helpful. The truck is working great. Thank you so much, Jerry.
They have hack garage mechanics working for them that have no idea how to diagnose problems. Guess anyone can get a job here as a mechanic. Was told to consider getting a new vehicle when the current vehicle being looked at was a 2007 with 150000 miles on it. What a joke of a crew they have. I was told this is the best place to go in town outside of the dealerships. Guess people in ladysmith can't fix anything but tires and basic stuff any garage mechanics can do. If you go to anyone outside of the major dealerships you end up with garage mechanics guessing.
Being new to Ladysmith I didn't have any idea who to go to for an oil change. After calling a few places I decided to make an appointment with Jerry's Auto. I was very impressed with how they explained things and were very friendly. I will use them for my car maintenance.
I went in there for a fuel pump issue...they didn't even look at my truck n told me a minimum of 1k to repair....plus I needed power steering hoses replaced, which I purchased and I was told they won't use parts that you bring in.....DECIDED TO GO ELSEWHERE
Full disclosure: I've only gone to this place once as of this writing.
That said, I will gladly bring my business here again. They treated me fairly, provided a courtesy vehicle so I could get to work while they worked on my vehicle, and charged me fairly for the work.
Update as of 5/9/2025: I've taken my vehicles here many times and have always been pleased with the work and the service. I gladly recommend this place to anyone who is looking to get their car repaired or serviced.
They did an amazing job, our truck would not start because of the cold and we had to get the battery replaced and Jerry said he could squeeze us in so that we could get back home. Amazing service and very friendly!
Yet again Jerry comes through! I needed lugnuts torqued and even though they were busy, Jerry graciously got it done and sent me on my way. I highly recommend his services to anyone looking for an honest, decent business.
The short version is that Jerry was super helpful in connecting us with a place where we could get a specific part for our car that we needed. Super friendly and helpful.
Called mid afternoon on a Fri to see about getting a vehicle towed. We were going to do it ourself but decided not too. Super polite on the phone both times I called. The tow truck almost beat us to our cabin where the vehicle was getting towed too. Highly recommend them!
We had broken down while visiting family in the area and they came to our need at a minutes notice. We can not thank them enough for getting us back on the road and home safely in time to go back to work after our holiday travels.
My tire was about to blow out. Thankfully they had two tires that I needed and were able to get these changed for me the same day, even though they were very busy! Thanks so much!
My daughter was 3 hrs from home and called me to tell me that her “car was shaking”. A local friend of hers suggested Jerry’s. After a quick diagnostic check, Jerry found a bad coil pack. Instead of ordering a part and throwing a new part at the problem he used Common sense and his years of experience to troubleshoot the problem.
After one hour of receiving the original call from my daughter, she texted me and said, “he took the coils off and there was some moisture under them. Nothing is wrong with the car, no charge.”
I told her to offer him something, but Jerry said, “if I had a daughter three hours from home, I’d want someone to help her out”
Wow! I had to call this guy and thank him directly. Thank you again Jerry! There are still some great people left in this world!
My engine was making noise this morning. Only in a short period of driving around town, it was pretty bad and just before pulling back into my driveway, I got a warning for reduced engine power. For a while, I've suspected there's possibly an issue with the timing chain.
Well, we have two people with jobs here and need to continue making income and I also do medical transportation and my clients need reliable transportation, children who need to get to appointments and an elderly parent living with us. We're down to one vehicle. In times of desperation such as this, you want a good, reliable, friendly company.
So, I checked around for recommendations on here and Jerry's is one that comes up quite often. Then, you check their website and they SPECIFICALLY say they diagnose and work on engine problems from small to large. I will pull a direct quote from their website "whether it's a minor faulty gasket cap problem or a major engine knock problem, rest assured we've got your back."
Since they're the closest shop to me and I figure I can HOPEFULLY get the car there before something drastic happens, I call just to be sure. While the lady on the phone wasn't the MOST rude person I've dealt with in customer service, she certainly was NOT the friendliest. I was kind and barely got it out that I've 'suspected' timing chain, she told me they probably won't be able to help, they're just a small shop with 2 bays and can't really do major work like that.
So, let's sum this up. Customer service was not friendly, discounted my car issues before I really had a chance to say anything and the information I was given on the phone COMPLETELY contradicts what their website claims, that they have state of the art engine diagnostic tools and are COMMITTED to getting your family back on the road as quickly as possible.
I cannot speak for anyone else's experience than my own. And as it stands, my family is stranded and though I don't KNOW if this is the particular issue, they are not willing to even get it in to make a proper diagnosis and give me peace of mind. And, my clients still suffer as I won't be able to provide them transportation, so the community also does suffer.
This was not a pleasant interaction with this business.
Dan was very helpful in placing my license on my 4x4 and putting the stickers on I was having a difficult day and he made it better good people Jerry's towing services always been good.
Jerry was quick to diagnose and fix! He even took the time to show me exactly what was done. By showing, I mean he opened the hood and went through everything. Will definitely be back!
Update: Had my (rattle trap) back in to get it looked at, not disappointed, everyone at work will be happy that my car no longer vibrates and makes the obnoxious noise it’s been making for over a year. Great people, great service.

Jerry and his crew did a great job getting my car fixed and safe to drive for couple different issues over the past couple months. Very reasonable prices, and very accommodating to my crazy schedule with limited times I was able to get my car there!! Best place in town for all your automotive needs!
Great friendly service .. made an appointment for an oil change, my car was taken right in & finished on time. They even vacumed out the front floors, a nice unexpected touch.

I have not had the opportunity to work with Jerry's in years, as I have moved out of the area. Recently, I was in the area and had vehicle trouble. He was the first place I thought of and am happy to say, his service is still outstanding! He towed my truck in on Sunday and had it fixed by noon on Monday!
Price was very good as well, given the distance he had to tow it.
Honest and fair NO BALONEY!!! "tells it like it is" so to speak. You treat them right; they will treat you right (and then some). Very good and efficient at getting things done. They do there best to work out a schedule that works for you. This will be the 4th time I needed there services and every time it has been a very pleasant experience.
Been going here for years. As always the best service around weather it be just getting gas, refilling a propane cylinder or major auto repair. These guys will treat you right. Thank You!
Jerry was prompt in both towing my vehicle and repairing it. He was reasonable on price. He is as honest and sincere as they come. This was my first experience with Jerry's - I had car trouble while visiting the area. I would definitely go back.
