I recently had an issue with my brake lines over the July holiday, and was able to stick around after to find somewhere local to fix them. I managed to pull in thru the narrow drive lined with cars, but there wasn't much room to turn around. They were able to fix the brake line, but the biggest red flag was when I was asked if I wanted a receipt for the work. There was other work that could have been done, but it could wait, and I wasn't prepared to take care of it at that time. Finally in September, I went to my regular garage to get this work done. This is the statement from that bill -- "INCLUDES INSPECTION, COMPLAINT BRAKE LIGHT ON, FOUND RIGHT REAR BRAKE LINE LEAKING, BRAKE LINES HAVE BEEN REPLACED AND RUN THROUGH COIL SPRINGS". Mechanic confirmed that 'Brakes were done badly', and it required an additional $110 of parts plus about half of my $500 labor charge to correct the July repair attempt.
I had a flat tire today in Saint Croix Falls, and after three mechanics told me they didn't know if they could patch my tire, Lenny's said, yes, bring it in immediately. Not only did they patch my tire, but they replaced my tire with a better tire and made me a priority. Thanks Lenny's; I will be back!
These guys are the absolute best at what they do and good to work with. Super reasonable prices and quality job. Can't ask for more of a knowledgable gem of a mechanic than Dusty to help you out
Formerly known as L&C, though I'm not sure what happened to the C. Lenny is honest and affordable, and maybe a bit rough around the edges. Be prepared for nudie calendars if you enter the shop. He's usually booked up, so make an appointment well ahead of time.
Lenny and Dusty are fantastic! They know their stuff. I cannot count how many times they've helped me out and usually super fast! The only reason I didn't give them the full 5 stars is that they're so busy, sometimes it's hard to get an appointment on short notice and since I only have one vehicle, sometimes I just can't wait.
Great little spot. Got lower control arms replaced for about ⅓ of the quote I got in the cities. Great work, and was able to see what was going on. Despite hitches like seized bolts needing to be replaced, etc., still very affordable. Friendly people, and I will definitely be back.
Bought a tow truck from this guy that I was told that would be ready to work the day that I bought it. I got less then 10 miles away and it died. He told me that he would get it running and call me in the morning. after going to it 4 days straight and telling him that I wanted my money back within 72 hour in accordance with the lemon laws he said that he would get it so it was reliable. I finally got it almost home before I had to tow the tow truck the rest of the way home. Now it's a week and a half later and the truck still has not done a job and won't stay running for more then 2 minutes. If you like used parts, a backyard mechanic, and a pathological liar this is the place to go but if you want someone that you can trust and is reliable then stay as far away from them as you can.
The only place I'll bring my vehicles. Very knowledgeable and helpful. Fair prices and very quick. I bring all my vehicles here. Cars, trucks, and vans. Even diesels! Worth the drive!
Usually in the auto world you get what you pay for. With Lenny you not only get good timely service but also at an extremely reasonable price. We've brought multiple vehicles to him and they were fixed right the first time and fast. Great asset to St. Croix Falls and surrounding area!
I had a truck that wouldn't start, Lenny towed it within an hour of my call, fixed it promptly, and it runs great. What more do you want? Friendly, fast, and efficient.
i would recommend L & C to everyone i know, and i do. As for the two negative reviews, if you want to be coddled or sales pitched then yep you have come to the wrong shop! L & C has so much repeat buisness (myself included) that they dont need to throw sales pitches or coddle customers to get their business. Lenny is very straight forward and honest and has a very good reputation that he has built over many years in the area.
No slick sales staff, just mechanics who get the work done for very reasonable costs. They changed my economic equation and made it worthwhile to hang onto my old cars and keep them running. I think he has the largest collection of matchbox cars in the world in the office!
