I apologize for the length of this review, but I feel it's important to share our experience because I have a hard time believing we're the only customers who have dealt with something like this.
Several years ago, we had a fuel pump replaced by this shop. The experience wasn't great, but when our vehicle recently started throwing fuel system-related codes, we brought it back because the fuel pump carried a lifetime warranty and wanted to give them another opportunity to earn our business.
Communication was poor from the start. After having the vehicle for some time, we were told the issue was battery-related, despite the battery being less than six months old and the original codes pointing to the fuel system. We were assured the vehicle was fixed and ready to go.
Within a day and a half, the vehicle broke down with our children inside. We were forced to limp it home, making it obvious that the underlying issue had never been resolved.
When we originally became customers, we lived right down the road. We now live about 30 minutes away, so after paying for a repair that didn't fix the problem and then being stranded, it wasn't as simple as "just bringing it back." By that point, the trust was gone.
After explaining what happened, a refund was discussed and we were told a check would be mailed. Weeks passed with multiple phone calls and promises of return calls that never happened. Eventually, we were told no refund had ever been discussed. While the money is frustrating, the bigger issue was the lack of communication, consistency, and accountability.
This review isn't about $255. It's about paying for a repair that didn't solve the problem, having a vehicle break down shortly afterward with our children inside, and struggling to get straight answers afterward.
Mistakes happen in every industry. What matters is how a business handles them. Honest mechanics earn customers through quality work, communication, and standing behind what they do. Based on our experience, I would encourage others to spend their hard-earned money with a shop that values customer trust as much as it values getting paid.
At first I thought this shop was a good trustworthy shop, I bought a brand new set of falken tires off of tirerack and a set of used rims for my truck. I needed to get them mounted, so I contacted Vetting Customs - Rigs and Rides..they got me in right away with no appointment and I couldn't get there until 4:30pm(they close at 5). They stayed late to get the job done...they mounted and balanced my tires, charged $144 for it. I drove home and I felt a little shaking in the steering wheel. I thought maybe it was the road and snow...but after the snow melted and roads were clear, the shaking was still there..so I messaged them almost a week later at 9pm on facebook and they responded within 10 mins. .they had mentioned that they balanced them and it might be a bent rim, but to take it in and they will rebalance them...took it in and they re balanced them...they claimed that my rims are bent, they had to had 6oz of weights to 2 tires and put them on the rear so it doesn't effect my steering....and it drove okay, still a little vibration.... Fast forward to a week later, I bought another set of used rims with tires...threw them on my truck and it drove fine..so I went back to vettings to get my falkens taken off the first set of rims...they mounted and balanced the falkens on the 2nd set of rims, the tech and I test drove it and the shaking came back..(spent $189).so he told me that it may be the tires being out of round...and I had to get them road force balanced to confirm....and to let then know what the issue is..so after almost $400, I had to drive a truck with 6k miles that would shake at 40mph... So I went to bauer built to have the wheels road force balanced, tech there said that before he took the weights off to re balance them, he put then on the machine and all four wheels were way off, one of the front wheels were 8oz off, he suggested that vettings machine needed to be calibrated or they didn't mount the tire correctly onto the machine...so I msged vettings to inform them of the suggestion...to my surprise, no response at all....after spending $75 after bauer, my truck drives fine! So I took my 1st set of rims to a different shop to see if they were bent...they put them on their machine and spun it and there was no wobble or signs of it being bent.. They were perfectly fine! So I DO NOT recommend this shop to anyone at all!!
Update 3/4 After leaving this same reveiw on their Facebook page. They didn't even care to contact me or what so ever. Instead they blocked me from their page.
Wasn't happy girl talked like I had no knowledge of cars. Never think the elderly are uneducated about mechanics. Their billing of shop supplies needs to be detailed more.
I finished my 3 year ignition interlock device sentence in December '22. The original installer wasn't able to take it out until 12-29-22, but Vetting Customs got me in on 12-27-22. Kimberly was SO very nice when I called to schedule, and when I brought my car there in the a.m., it was completed promptly. I am beyond impressed with how kind they all are there (so understanding, too!!) and I highly recommend Vetting Customs!!
Very friendly Staff, and they keep you up-to-date about what is going on with your vehicle. I was allowed to drop my car off the night before. Which was convient for me.
They did an amazing job on my vehicle. I was in an accident awhile back. Went over all the details of the specific areas affected on the car and was able to get it in and fixed as soon as possible. They even painted my gas tank door, which was not affected by the accident. As I had to replace it myself, because the gas doors are defective on vehicles like mine. I am so pleased and happy with their work! I would definitely recommend them!! Thank you!
