My mom bought a car from ardens march 1st 2025 and by march 3 the car went out!! When we went back to talk about the car Arden was super rude and told me the car was fine and that it’s my fault.. 10 mins later another person came in with the same problem do not do any business with this place trust me
I bought my 2011 Ford Fusion from them back in July 2024, I sat there for hours while they processed everything. It seemed like none of them knew what was even going on either. Anyways, I got to drive my car for 5 months before I wasn’t able to drive it. To give you some details I needed a new power steering rack ($1,844.41), my passenger side strut was broken ($1,306.89), and a hydraulic control until ($2,460.94). That is more than the car is worth. Because I can’t afford a sudden payment of $6k I had to switch my car loan over to a personal loan and basically hand the title over the a dealership that way I don’t have to pay for anymore towing. I did have it checked at three different places to confirm these issues. Save your time with this place, I’m honestly surprised they’re still in business. Thank you Arden for selling me a piece of junk that ultimately put me in even more debt. It was my first ever car and I only got to commute to work with it for a couple of months before I could no longer drive it. Next time you say a car is in good condition, think to yourself: “Is it actually in good condition or will it break down on them very shortly?” THINK…

I HAD THE WORST EXPERIENCE I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE EVER. FIRST I CALL ABOUT GETTING A DIAGNOSIS TEST DONE DUE TO MY BATTERY GOING DEAD WELL I TAKE MY CAR IN I CALL THEM AND ASK THEM IF THEY FOUND WHATS WRONG, WELL HE TELLS ME THAT MY BATTERY HAS A BAD CELL AND TO GET A NEW BATTERY I SAID OK I WILL PICK THE BATTERY UP IN THE MORNING. WELL I GO IN THE MORNING TO PICK UP MY BATTERY AND HE TELLS ME THAT I OWE $300 FOR THE DIAGNOSTIC AND THAT I NEED A NEW BATTERY AND A NEW ALTERNATOR WHICH I ALREADY KNEW THAT AND I TOLD THEM THAT I NEEDED A NEW BATTERY BECAUSE IT KEEPS DIEING, WELL I COME IN AND I HAVE A BILL FOR $300 AND THEY SAY ITS FOR THE DIAGNOSTIC TEST AND IM LIKE NOW WAIT I THOUGHT U TOLD ME TO GET A NEW BATTERY CUZ U CNT DIAGNOSED IT WITHOUT IT HAVING A CHARGED BATTERY SO HOW DID IT GO FRM THAT TO NOW I HAVE A BILL FOR $300 AND THEY HAD A BATTERY THEY PUT IN MY CAR AND THEN HE CHANGED IT AND SAID THEY CHARGED MY BATTERY AND CHECKED MY ALTERNATOR BUT THE DAY BFOR HE TOLD ME MY ALTERNATOR WAS OK IT WAS PUTTING OUT 14.1 VOLTAGE TO NOW I NEED AN ALTERNATOR AND A BATTERY BUT THE DAY BEFORE HE SAID HE COULDNT PERFORM THE DIAGNOSIS WITHOUT A NEW BATTERY. LONG STORY SHORT I DONT KNW WHAT YOU GUYS ARE TRYING TO GET A WAY WITH BY MAKING TRYING TO CHARGE PPL THESE OUTRAGES AMOUNTS WHEN FROM THE LOOKS OF THINGS U DONT EVEN DO A DIAGNOSTIC. IM SAYING THIS BECAUSE THIS IS NOT A WAY YOU DO BUSINESS AND ALSO IF YOU CANT REMEMBER WHO YOU TALK TO AND WHAT YOU TELL THEM U SHOULDNT BE DOING THIS JOB ANYMORE. BUT ARDENS U GUYS LOST A GOOD CUSTOMER DUE TO YOU GUYS TRYING TO PULL A FAST ONE BUT IT DIDNT WORK WITH ME.
I personally have only gone to Arden's Auto twice since owning my car, but I won't be going anywhere else for my car care or emergency vehicle issues. The gentlemen there are always so kind, helpful and always smiling even when it's something expensive. They are always great to explain why something needs to be replaced, what's wrong, how it needs to be done. Arden himself is a very kind and gentle man! Definitely a place I'd recommend to anyone and everyone with a car. New and old! Ardens definitely has you covered! Bought a car from this place in August 2023, and I've had problems ever since. Within 2 weeks, less than 500 miles, we started hearing this rattling coming from the exhaust, and the check engine light came on. We took it to a mechanic and discovered that the entire heat shield, and a portion of the exhaust was held together by JB Weld and foil tape, and there was an issue with the mass airflow sensor, He also discovered that the oil level was low, and the remaining oil was very dirty and hasn't been replaced in some time, so we decided to change it. When doing the oil change, they discovered that the oil pan plug was stripped, and we would need to have the oil pan replaced. We called the dealer and he offered to "tap" the drain pan, which involves making a hole in the drain pan, and putting in a plug. He also put an oil change sticker that said to come back in 1500 miles.
When my car died, he bought it for scrap for more than I asked, loaned me a vehicle for days for absolutely free, and inspected the new car I was considering buying for free. An absolute treasure of a human being.
They helped us out when we got a flat tire on vacation when no one else would! Very grateful for their great and speedy work!! Very accommodating and affordable.

I picked up my car before it was serviced, they said it took them two hours to find a radiator hose. So I paid for the part and there time to find out when I tried to put it on it was the wrong size. I give them an F on there service.
Every one's right about Arden and his staff for mechanical repairs and work. They are all great in pricing..and fair. Knowledgeable.
Selling cars? Not so much. Stick with mechanical work Arden. Thats your expertise. Selling cars will only ruin your good name.
came from 3 hours away to look at a vehicle. we specifically asked if the vehicle had rust and if there was anything wrong with the vehicle...we were told a small rust patch on one side of the vehicle...upon arrival and looking at the vehicle it was apparent BOTH sides of the car was severely rusted...looked under the vehicle and the frame was completely rusted throughout!! I mean actually holes and tape was used to try and hide the rust patches!!! They knew it was for my 16 year old...we are extremely upset about the deception this dealer tried to play!!! AND THE 6 HOURS of time we wasted...also we were told the brakes were changed and other things were done...when we got there we were told the brakes were looked at and were fine but not replaced...also the other items were not done but he would take 300.00 off...umm no...save the trouble look elsewhere!!!
Arden was super friendly and helpful. I had to get a tire repaired last minute and he helped me for a really low fee. I also needed to get some axel work done and brakes replaced all the way around. There was something wrong with the parking break after and he rode along with me to check it out. They fixed the problem immediately unlike another shop I was at that left a lot of things wrong with the vehicle afterwards. I would highly recommend this shop.
Was asking to take a car i was looking to purchase to another shop for a 2cd opinion which i was told by Arden it was wasting my money and they do it for half the cost. Which they only put the vehicle up and were doing the saftey inspection only after i asked to take it into another shop. and i could have purchsed it before hand not knowing they hadnt even looked at it which is required by law. Over all bad experience and seemed very shady wouldnt recommend buying a vehicle there.
As a mother of 4 that just moved here, it was important to find an honest mechanic. As a female with an expensive car, in nursing, at the hospital, most mechanics see dollar signs. I have had my eye on Arden's for months, and after going through reviews and calling, I am sure this is where I want to invest my money. I received an honest quote and breakdown over the phone. He also told me how long it will take. They even offer loaner vehicles. I will be coming in soon. Most importantly Happy belated 75th Birthday to Mr. Arden!! May you be blessed with many more!!
Update: June 20th, 2020. I sent my fiancé in because I had to stay home with the kids. We forgot that the BGC was closed. Mr. Arden, God BLESS you!! You did not disappoint me. We have found our new trusted mechanic. You sent him home with the same tip I told him to do last month, we just didn't want belt to slip. There is NOTHING like finding a mechanic you can trust!! Arden's is the BEST place for any and all of your automotive needs. His staff is great. It's and old school shop run by an old school owner. They're always willing to work with you to get your car fixed. My brother recently purchased a van from there and couldn't be happier. If you're looking for top quality work from a friendly place look no further then Arden's.
Fast, friendly, and best of all, very aware of cost of repairs. Duke went over what was wrong with my brakes and gave me a very frank and honest assessment. I walked out not just feeling like my car was in good hands, I know it. There's a reason Arden has been there for around 50 years.
Had my brakes repaired here, and when something went wrong while i was on a road trip home, they covered the cost to repair it! Would highly recommended this shop, it can be hard to find honest and knowledgeable auto mechanics, but arden's certainly is one of them!
My car battery died when it was below zero and I needed my car that day as I was moving into a new home and the guys at Arden’s were able to replace it for me on the spot and allow me to continue on my day worry free. They were very friendly and helpful, I would recommend this shop to anyone in the La Crosse area

Arden is one of the most friendliest and honest people you will ever meet. He and his mechanics Dale and Duke will anything they can to accommodate you and get you back on the road in a timely manner!! Very trustworthy auto shop!!
Always great service. Old school mechanics with the right prices. They have been quick with my work and have communicated well between the time I drop my car off and the time I pick it up. No surprises here.
