I've been a producer of scrap metal with Alter for over a decade and have yet to have a negative experience. Kirby and John and Corey work directly with each person and consistently do everything they can to make sure your haul is accurately paid out. They answer questions without making you feel inferior. Even when you don't have much scrap to sell them, they treat you with professionalism and respect. They recently hired Corey and he had been exceptional in his attention to detail. He remembered my name and commented on something relevant to me personally because he remembered our previous exchange. Alter worked with me to keep me making money when my wallet and ID were lost. I will always be an Alter customer.
Horrible Horrible Horrible. I spent days Organizing prepared steel for prepared steel price and got robbed and when they handed me my money and I wanted my steel back they said NO?! THEY DIDNT EVEN LOOK AT WHAT I WAS SELLING. I CANT BELIEVE HOW RUDE THEY WERE. ILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN
Great place to take your metal. Kirby, Andy, and Jhon are always easy to deal with. I've been scraping for years. Much better than the facility in Holmen.
Tall Bearded guy in the aluminum can area yells at me for emptying my cans in the hopper... like sorry dude trying to help out. Ill recycle my cans elsewhere next time.

To those people who posted bad reviews for friendly service...They're not there to be your friend and I'm not there for friendly service (like a restaurant)...
No spot scrap metal prices posted anywhere nor what they pay for any given scrap metal.
Only weigh in whole pound units so if something weighs 9 lb. 7 oz. it is rounded to 9 lb.
This is not a company you would want to take small quantities of expense scrap metal.
Rude employees, and who closes at 4:00?! Bad news if you have a weekly day job not going to happen. I recommend Runde's in Holmen, they are far nicer there and open NORMAL HOURS! It's worth the little difference in distance
