I AM WRITING THIS REVIEW WITH SADNESS AND DISGUST. I went to do basic recycling and a gentleman from Purple Cow Roofing was there dropping off an aluminum wheelchair ramp. Jim the owner of PRC gave him $100 to recycle the ramp. I asked the gentleman from Purple Cow Roofing if he would be willing to donate it to a family who's mother is battling stage 4 cancer instead of recycling it, and he said he would and he would give JIM his $100 back. So i had a truck and trailer there ready to pick it up but unfortunately after JIM the owner of PRC and the person from Purple Cow Roofing spoke, JIM from PRC said he would have to sell it to me for $700 that "he couldn't donate it because it would hurt his business." He wanted the money instead of helping a family in his community. Purple Cow Roofing was given the ramp by an elderly woman who longer needed it for FREE! These men have no compassion and it's all about the $ for them. I went weekly to PRC and did my recycling but I will NEVER go there again and I hope no one else does either. I will be going to Mt. Pleasant from now on to do my recycling and I hope others will too.
Dude that took the cans today and the guy I usually see in the front are pretty cool. Been here randomly though out there years and never felt like I was getting ripped off.

One the guy that is taking the metal and weighing the middle gets mad and violent at the customer when he makes a mistake. And then Jim the owner goes calls with one saying if 1 says hes not gonna take your items then I'm gonna take them so they turned me away which scrap that I had to turn in the recycle. I find this place very childish the ridiculous below the attitudes the experience the knowledge is not up to par. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy I don't know how their in business still.
I have been recycling Aluminum here for over 3 years. Jim behind the glass is Awesome along with the whole crew. This place is incredibly organized in the back. 100% Approval! Thanks for keeping Kenosha clean.
If I could give them no stars I would they were rude and very unprofessional. We went there for the first time same will not be returning. They didn't check what we were trying to scrap and was very rude from the beginning. There parking lot salvage area in super small and it took us forever just to back out after being treated unprofessionally. Please go somewhere else when looking to scrap or sell metals.
This place is a rip-off!!
I brought in over 250 lb of cans and only got paid for 116, they refuse let you see the scale (against policy) and the employees in the back are extremely rude. LED displays are cheap and they could easily afford a second one so that the customer can see, instead they hide it from you and you are simply to 'trust them'. If they're hiding the weight then they are hiding how much they short you, makes me wonder what else do they hide??
Go someplace else, you have been warned.
My mother recently passed away and I had the hard task of cleaning out her storage unit. These people were SO rude when I brought my items out. While I'm appreciative they took them, they didn't even treat me with an ounce of respect. I also wasnt offered a single penny for any of the large metal items brought. The money wasnt the issue though it was just how rude they were. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.
Every time I take my recyclables here, they take great care of me! The manager in back, his name is Juan, is always on point and ready to handle what ever it takes to get the job done! and the owners are the best! I always get market fair prices and an accurate weight. Hands down the best place for miles to take your scrap to!

1 box #10 #12 solid copper wire it was not stripped (Pampers diaper box 120 pack) probably about 25 lbs
300 ft of extension cords (six 50 ft cords)
2 lighting ballasts
14 trash bags (20 Gallon size) of CRUSHED aluminum cans
I WATCHED HIM WRITE $2.30 FOR THE CANS
TOTAL= $22 and some change what a complete rip off!!!!

I always go to prc never had any problems great staff and always nice i usually stay around and shoot the sh** with them.
I've been reading the reviews and i cant believe half of what i read because i know the people in this town are greedy and want as much as they can get but you have to understand this is a business alot of people come in disrespectful and just wanting extra cash. But prices for various metals go up and down all the time one day it can be up and the next be down.... I dont care what anyone says there the BEST... If you dont like it go to Racine and you will really get treated completely like sh** and paid like sh**....
This scrap yard has really fair prices. I went recently and was greeted kindly by the staff/workers. Also the place is so much tidier then other places around. If you're in kenosha and have some metal to scrap I highly recommend prc recycling.
Don't bring your copper here , ripped me off first time for "1" wire when it's supposed to be "bare bright" I didn't notice it the first time went the sending time , they did the same thing and I called them out on it and they said oh I'm sorry I thought I put that . Point to story is you shouldn't have to tell the scrappers what you're actually giving them . No honesty here
I had no problems I see people complaining about emptying your cans out of your bag. That's everywhere. Their prices seemed fair so keep up the good work Guys
I brought my cans in and I had to take them out of the bags and unload them myself, they weighed them and took half of the money I should have gotten.. What a rip off I will never go there again and I will tell everyone I know to never go there. It just easier to spend the gas to take them to racine, it worth the money
I would not take anything here unless I was desperate. They pay 30% less than anywhere else. Make the trip to IL and Increace your profit by 30%. They make a fortune of all the Kenoshans!
They need to check their scales; I had between 15-18 pounds of cans, and they weighed me for 12... If you need a little pocket change, check on top of vending machines; trust me, it's up there. -.-
