Nice little store in markesan Wisconsin but now I come another day and the cashier her name was Erica decided to check me out witha popsicle in one hand and checking me out with the other I think this is very rude there should be no eating when you're getting your groceries checked out
where's the customer service!!
Like the store and staff are always friendly and willing to help load groceries into auto. Sl higher prices but typical of sm towns. Always a gd meat selection and bakery in the store.
Let's get into this. We'll start with the pros.
Staff is mostly friendly and very lovely to interact with. It's small but large enough to find most of, if not all, the items you need. Within walking distance of pretty much every house in town which is great.
The cons?
Prices are exorbitantly high. It's worth the price of gas to go well out of your way to go to Ripon, Berlin, Princeton, Waupun or even Beaver Dam to get better prices as well as better quality control. Its the only grocery store in a 14 mile radius (give or take.) The items on the shelves are rarely rotated and checked hardly ever so ALWAYS CHECK YOUR DATES. Produce has a lot of mold and we just bought doughnuts only to open them and find them furry with mold. Thankfully I checked before feeding them to my toddlers. (I'm now currently too grossed out to eat anything as this is the second product in one trip that was moldy.)
Overall, the staff makes the experience lovely but as a shopper you need to make sure you do your due diligence on quality and packaging checks to ensure your product is good. (They have no problem doing returns though if there is an issue.)
The people at piggly wiggly (are so supportive and so nice and helpful!! Out of all the stores, this is the one I will ALWAYS GOTO!! Tammy and Georff are so great, especially after my surgery!! Thank You So Much! You actually make my day so much better!
Pricing on majority of items was MUCH higher than the city and I understand a lot of the businesses have "summer" prices for people spending time in the area BUT this has gotten ridiculous. Don't be surprised when numbers go Down because most of us decided to just bring Everything up with us, Instead of spending x2 as much on half the stuff.
Worst experience I’ve ever had at a store. Employees were rude and made me feel I was not welcome. Only one register was open and a long line formed. Finally one of the cashiers , who up to this time was very busy socializing , opened another register. When my turn came to checkout I greeted the cashier and told her that was my first time in a Piggly Wiggly and I thought it was a very interesting store with good variety. Silence………… not a word , strangest thing ever. After I paid she turned to talk to someone while I was still standing there. I had to ask her for a bag for my items and she grabbed and kind of threw a plastic bag at me . Put my items in it and they all fell out on the floor, bag had a big hole in it .No apology , recognition of the issue, nothing. I’ll never go to this Piggly Wiggly in Markasan ever again , or any other Piggly Wiggly . This store absolutely sucks and I feel bad for the locals who have no choice but to shop there .
Only grocery store around for miles. Prices are higher than other places but you have to drive a great distance to those places.
Friendly people to deal with when you get their attention.
A really nice little hometown grocery store. Good quality and selection of produce. I also like the deli for grab-and-go lunch, and the bakery is delicious.
I typically only shop here in a pinch, otherwise the prices are too high but that’s a small town for you. I’ve also been having to make returns on food that has been up up to 3 months passed it’s best by/expired date. I’m not sure the food is being properly rotated or if something like this is even being checked. Most of the staff are friendly, some are not. Would only recommend because there isn’t a closer option.

Most everything you could want from a small town grocery store. I have found that the veggies are better than average for this area. Prices inline with everyone else locally.
