This is not a true Advanced Auto Parts store, they are still a Carquest operating as Advanced Auto Parts. This being said, I tried to return a part at the Verona store and it can’t be done due to the systems being different. I have tried to make a return at the Fitchburg location 3 times now on three separate days all at different times throughout the day. They claim to not have enough money in the registers every time. The part was paid for in cash, but they won’t give cash back. Two out of three times the staff have been terrible. Recommend Orileys vs this store location hands down.

I stopped by to have my car scanned after a warning light came on. For starters the guy who was sent out to scan my car asked me if my car was a Toyota Tacoma. My car is a Chevy Malibu. He asked this while he was literally sitting in the driver seat! I instantly went inside the store and asked the next employee if he could come scan my car. He said he didn’t know how to. The next guy said he could after he finished what he was doing. I told him the first guy didn’t even ask for my keys. And I was told they don’t need my keys! He came out attempted to scan my car, without putting my keys in the ignition and what do you know the scanner kept showing an error code. They then said the scanner must not be working and sent me up the road to Firestone.Firestone just rolled their eye and said Advance Auto Parts needed to stop sending customers their for scans. I then proceeded to go to the Verona Advanced Auto Parts. Wow, I should’ve started there. Tyler helped me. He recognized that I was driving a car, not a truck, and he knew to ask for my keys. I hate that I need to drive past one location simply to get basic services. Thanks Verona Advance, your location appears to be what an Advance should strive to be.Keep it up! Fitchburg Advance, good luck.

Store does not honor lifetime replacement warranty on brake pads. Even though the corporate policy for lifetime replacement is for "defects only," every other Advance Auto Parts I've been to in the past has given me new brake pads when I bring the old ones back. May not be the letter of the law, but it sure is a nice bonus that this store doesn't do. Trying my luck with Autozone brake pads' lifetime replacement instead.

I totally understand that I arrived at the business 4 minutes after they were closed but when you see an employee shake his head and then laugh at when you're trying to just get a simple gasket let alone just information of what store is open on a Saturday past 5:00 p.m. it's it's probably a good thing you didn't answer the door he wouldn't have a ponytail anymore. Don’t waste your time here, go down the road to the shop on Verona Rd. Came in to get my fiancé’s battery swapped out after it died and we had to jump it, and the guy (that everyone else is talking about as well) treated us like we were bothering him even though there was no one else in the store. He rolled his eyes when we didn’t immediately know questions about the car and the battery. He let us buy a battery and then refused to install it, despite the fact that no place will install a battery unless you buy it from them. He then left for lunch, and the other worker said “everyone always complains about him”. So we returned the battery for a refund, and went to the other Advance on Verona Rd where they happily installed a battery for us.

Came in to get a free battery test. From the get-go employee treated me like I was wasting his time (No other customers in the store). Once the battery test came through OK I asked about an alternator test. The employee said I should probably go somewhere else for that. I pointed to the free starter and alternator test sign at the front of the store and asked about that service. He said I needed to take the alternator out then they can test it and let me know if it's good or not. So I need to take the alternator out bring it into the store and if it's good I put it right back into my car? I asked him lol. Probably just caught this guy on a bad day but not a good look for your store. Especially considering O'Reilly did all three tests in 5 minutes and treated me kind and with respect.

After a good samaritan helped jump start our car, he recommended we go to Advanced Auto Parts to get free diagnostics regarding the battery health. We did. Dead battery. So, first we were told to remove the car battery ourselves and next we were told to install the new battery ourselves. An advertisement on the shop window clearly said Free Installation. When we asked about this, we were told there were conditions. Not in print. Not that made sense. Buyer beware.

The cashier/front desk worker was one of the most rude and unprofessional people I’ve had the displeasure of meeting. Generally speaking the staff here are not friendly either, but whoever was working 4/21/24 was incredibly rude and unfriendly for no reason.

Went to replace a dead battery. Showed up and the guy did not want to come to the front desk to help, eventually he came out and told us he would not come outside to assist in the battery change. Despite having it stated on website they help assist.

Rude and disrespectful guy (morning) and I was the only costumer in the store. Next time I'll drive a couple more miles and go to Autozone (great staff) or Advance Auto Parts in Verona (nice guy in the afternoon).

Want to feel stupid, go here. All I got was a no no nope with a satirically laughing guy. Only customer in store and seemed he so irritated that I asked a question. Decided to go somewhere else, was only Customer in store but from onset was nope nope and a laugh then nope. Went to Autozone which didn’t know either but even though they had about 10 other customers they came out looked at what I needed and actually found a way instead or saying nope nope and laughing at me. 06/29 was when I came in and believe me in customer service for 20 years that was just absolutely sad, beyond degrading and I will never ever go there again!!!!!

The customer service in this auto store was horrible. I was the only customer in the store I stood there for 5 min while the sales person typed on the computer. Then not knowing much about cars asked about a bulb. She didn’t even try to help me find. Very Unprofessional.

I called to ask about battery replacement, they said I didn’t need an appointment and to come by whenever. I showed up two hours later and was told “Well it’s not going to happen today, the one guy who does it is clocking out right now. Come by in the middle of the day.” It was 3pm.

This place should be permanently closed down. The moment I walked in the door and asked for help I WAS REFUSED. I was the only person there, but the guy behind the counter absolutely could not help me. He was rude and disrespectful, clearly annoyed I was even there, and told me to go to another auto place down the street. My husband called the store shortly after I left (since he was at work and couldn't help) to ask for an explanation as to why he treated me that way, and the guy on the phone was belligerent and insisted they had a lot of customers. That was a total lie. I was the only person there when I got there, and the only one when I left. My husband used to go here for years, but he's vowed never to set foot in there again. Clearly from the feedback other people have left, this place surely won't last much longer. I hope not. It's a useless eyesore filled with unpleasant people. If you go there, you will leave with someone having made your day worse. I do not recommend even bothering. There are plenty of other auto shops on McKee.

Closed and locked the store 10 minutes early without any notice. The store was supposed to close at 6 pm today. When I got to the store at 5:50 pm, the store was locked and closed. Here is the fun part: the last employee wearing the uniform was just sitting in his red Subaru Outback and watching me until 6 pm, then left once the clock struck 6 pm. Called the manager, and got no response.

Ordered a trailer hitch and was told it would arrive in 3 business days. Sounds great! Called a week later...response was "no hitch arrived and we have no way to track this". Called a couple days later, same thing. Called a couple days later, same thing. Called a couple days later (right before I absolutely needed it) and asked for a manager. Shame on me for not asking to speak to a manager earlier. He said that it should have arrived by now and he could look into tracking it. I said too late - you have a training issue with your staff if you are able to track things, yet they are telling customers that this is not possible. F-

I rarely write reviews but this was just unacceptable service I received from this location. I ordered a product online to pick-up in store because I had some online coupons I wanted to use. I waited an entire day and did not receive an email on whether it was ready or not, so I called the store and the person helping me said it was ready so I told them I will pick it up that day. I went in and they weren't able to scan the product out so they told me to go home and cancel the order. I went home and tried to cancel the order and there was no options for that so I chatted with a customer care person online and they said the person in store is supposed to do that. They called the store the next day to fix the issue. Instead of cancelling my order, somehow they sold it because I received an email saying my product was picked up even though it wasn't. I called the store and the person told me not to worry, as long as they had the product on hand and I hadn't picked up the product I should not be charged. He also said that he "doesn't order things online normally, so...." He sounded a bit condescending throughout the entire time I dealt with him. I'm sorry, but if you are working at a place that takes online orders, you are supposed to know how to work online orders. I don't use my job's program software normally at home but I know how to work with it at my job. I had to call customer care again a couple of days later because they actually DID charge my card. The store is giving me a refund, but having to order a product shouldn't be so hard.

It’s a long story, but I ended up with a bad battery. The store I bought it from gave me a new battery, but the pretty useless (harsh, but true) salesperson could not get the old battery out of my car. I didn’t have a wrench set and couldn’t do it myself. I was about to call AAA to come install it when I drove past this place. A window sign promised “free loaner tools.” I pulled in, and a very helpful gentleman first loaned me a toolbox, then showed me the right tools, and ended up basically installing the new battery for me. And it was cold outside. I purchased a few things after to say thanks, and he was very knowledgeable and helpful. I’ll be back for all my future car needs!

Bought a battery from this store online. When I went to the store to pick up the battery, the guy refused to install the battery in my car although it clearly says in the website and the ads in the store the they should install the battery for free. I mentioned this to the guy, and he said I have to close the store in 10 minutes, so I'm not going to install the battery for you. I told him that this shows how bad your customer support is, and he said "FINE BY ME". The guy was rude and didn't really care about me as a customer.

If you are a business, and you need parts quickly, this should be the ABSOLUTE LAST PLACE TO ORDER FROM! I have done business with them for over 6 years, we were also one of there top independent shops. No longer. I will NEVER order from them again! And they couldn't give two sh*ts about it. Obviously no one there works off commission or bonus' due to sales. We are only about 10 minutes away, I know we are not the only shop they have to deliver to, but when the consistently take 1-2 hours and hold up jobs in my shop, I'm losing money. And there response is always the same.."i don't know why", or some other B.S. excuse. Completely and totally unprofessional! Too bad Advance didn't decide to close them down. A new façade does nothing for the internal workings of a place. Absolute garbage!

Jeremy, the store manager, was quite helpful when I came in. Got all the parts I needed for a rear brake job and let me know what else I needed beyond the parts. Prices reasonable and comparable to autozone/o'reilley as well.

The service here is terrible. I have been in three or four times because it is located on my way home from work. I will now be driving out of my way to avoid this CARQUEST. The employees are neither pleasant, nor willing to assist. I feel like I interrupted their card game every time I've entered the store. Unless you know exactly what you want, and where it is located in the store, I recommend heading elsewhere. The last time I went into this location, there wasn't another soul in the place and I still couldn't get one of the 3 guys behind the counter to answer my questions with anything more than a grunt.

Good for what you need, not good for advice, service, or help. Looks rundown, inside is clean with good selection and prices. Staff can be short and tolerable with questions. I've had some dodgy service here. Some days they are helpful and willing to give advice. Other times I feel like I'm an inconvenience to them asking about different air conditioning recharge brands even though there is no one else in the store.
