Super cute little shop with a snack bar! I had the best homemade chicken soup ever, and my husband’s tenders and fries were so good, too. This is a great place for a nice inexpensive meal to fill you up. They have lots of Seneca Rocks themed souvenirs like jams, jellies, and even ciders. It’s definitely worth a stop! Everyone was really nice, too.
We have stayed at Yokum Cabins for several years. It's like a trip back in time to Mayberry. The pace is easy and best of all, no cell or internet service in the cabins. Some will hate that but we found being unplugged for a few days was relaxing. We stay at one of the N-cabins. The cabins has two bedrooms and a second floor which will sleep many additional persons. N3 (our favorite) has two full bathrooms (first and second floor), a full kitchen, gas fireplace, and cable TV. The huge hot tub is wonderful. The scenery is beautiful. The visitors center (not open on the off season) is very informative. Be sure to have a meal at the Gateway Diner down the road. Seneca caverns, Dolly Soda, Smoke Hole cavern is close by. Unplug and get away.
Ordered a Bigfoot Burger with fries. Ordered at 215, paid at 220. As I was waiting 3 people who had also ordered burgers AFTER me got theirs. At 245 I asked the young lady an ETA on mine and was told "oh just a few more minutes" okay no worries. At 305 They called my number. I went to a table and bit into a fry and it was like it had been sitting for an hour on the counter. I was just so over the disappointment that I went and got a refund. Went across the lot to Front Porch instead.
Usually I dont have an issue here, Im here probably 1 to 2 times a month in my travels but over the past few months its sadly been going down hill on the food service side. The rest of the store is fantastic.
Can't beat the view from their porch! Really good coffee, substantial burgers, the best bacon I've ever had! Double cheeseburger with bacon was a very filling keto meal!
I came for the mothman festival, and if I get over to WV, I'm getting coffee on their porch. Worth the extra 3 hour drive to be in the heart of almost heaven ❤️
The store was nice but the hot dogs were horrible! They have a sign out front that says best West Virginian hot dogs but they must've paid for that sign because I'm from WV and these were absolutely the worst ones I've ever had. Plus it was like $5 per hot dog. This place is definitely a tourist trap! If you like sugary sweet hot dogs, then this is the spot for you.
Nice general store with groceries, beer, camping/outdoor supplies, souvenirs, tshirts, etc… There is a diner in the back that had surprisingly good food and great ice cream. Staff was very friendly.
We did not stay on property, but we came a few days for shopping & eats. This place is so much fun. Employees are all very sweet & helpful. The shops are filled with different and creative things, but also the must haves. It's definitely a destination in addition to wherever you are going.
I only visited the front porch restaurant and it was nice. I had an Italian sandwich and it was very tasty, the sub roll was extra delicious very fresh!
Several of my friends and I were on a motorcycle trip. We stopped in for lunch. The food was great and the staff were friendly. I don’t know about the rooms, as we were only there for lunch.
We got 2 WV dogs each and upgraded to fries on one order. 2 fountain drinks and a Gatorade. The total was $35? Seemed high to me? It's a tourist trap, right? Hot dogs weren't bad. But #2 in the state??? IDK???
Workers here were super kind, free wifi which is great because you probably won’t get service much elsewhere in Seneca. The bacon cheeseburger’s are great!!
Not your usual small town motel! Rooms were clean, well maintained, beds comfy and the view is amazing!! Staff were genuinely friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a place to stay close to Seneca Rocks!
The motel rooms are quaint, comfortable, and clean. They are also well-appointed and reasonably priced. The porch swings and other seating on the porch/balcony are a perfect touch with a beautiful view of Seneca Rocks.
The store has a decent selection of food, snacks, drinks, souvenirs, and other necessities at decent prices for a tourist destination. The service was hit and miss. Some employees were very friendly while others were... not.
The one part of the store/motel I would recommend skipping is the grill. We got a corndog which was fine. Just a frozen corndog heated and served in a paper container. In the morning, we got breakfast. My wife got a breakfast burrito and I got a sausage, egg and cheese biscuit. The burrito was huge but the vegetables inside were greasy and undercooked and the filling was pretty bland. Bothe ends were nothing but dry tortilla so, only the middle third was eaten. The biscuit was very dense and dry. Just unpleasant to eat, really. I ended up eating the egg and sausage and leaving most of the biscuit.
This is a great place to stay and stock up on supplies but don't plan to eat here.
Absolutely an incredible store and snack bar. The store has just about anything a person could ask for. The food at the snack bar is cooked to order and fantastic! Don't drive by Yokum's, stop in and enjoy!!!!
Make sure you get one of the West Virginia chili dogs! They are so good, I may find myself back at this little gem in the near future. They also have a variety of breakfast sandwiches and various sundry items available for your travels.
Really good place to stop and get something to eat. Had the grilled chicken salad,was one of the best salads I've ever had. My son had the double bacon cheeseburger and he said it was really good. Will return when we get back through that area.
Great little store with an amazing restaurant. Had a good selection of souvenirs and tshirts. Basic camping supplies and common food items can be found here as well. We were def here on more than one occasion. I highly recommend the homemade desserts at the checkout. The peanut butter fudge was amazing.
This place was conveniently located on our way to Cass Scenic Railroad…it was the only place to eat that was open so we didn’t really had a choice!! The food was ok (grilled ham and cheese and burgers, nothing too fancy however we were missing the bacon in one of the burgers!) and the tables were clean…Oh, and we had a tabby cat looking at us through the window while we ate… not to everyone’s liking but that’s a plus in my book! :-)
Been here a few times. Always been a nice stop with a great view. Except this time there was a very odd older bearded guy holding what appeared to be an alcoholic beverage that kept following us just smiling. Would not respond to any good mornings or hi's that were given to him. Just a creepy smile while following us in the parking lot. I got the feeling we were in a bad remake of the deliverance movie. I'm pretty sure the guy was driving a grey ford ranger truck. So keep an eye out.
We didn't stay at the motel but did enjoy a great lunch at Yokum's. Our hot dogs were grilled and covered with delicious chili, slaw, onions, and mustard. Service was fast and folks were friendly. Plus you get to have a great view of Seneca Rocks.
Nice store with some really good ice cream. I got the birthday cake ice cream in a waffle cone. Loved it, though my blood sugar probably didn't ?. Not to mention the great view of Seneca Rocks.
Great place to stop in an area that is pretty sparse. Have stopped here a few times when hiking at Seneca Rocks or checking out Smokehole Caverns. Store has a good selection of everything you'd need and a cool little side gift shop with crafts, posters/pictures, and items from the area. There is also a small restaurant in the back if you need a bite to eat. I always stop here since they carry the varieties of WV coffee that I like and I like to get a few bags to take home with me to GA. Clean bathrooms and friendly staff and a good place to stop in to refresh if you've just been hiking.
Stayed here two nights on business. If I came back for a vacation I'm not sure if I'd want to stay a whole week here. Its a beautiful location. With that being said there aren't many food options, country cooking is it pretty much it. The restaurant and store below is convenient but something I'd get tired of after a few days. If you are striving for luxury this isn't the place for you. Rock hard beds, OK pillows, nice sheets and blankets. Clean rooms though. Biggest complaint I have is the light coming through the windows at night, its ridiculous. If I wanted the sun in my room all night I would have stayed in a tent. Thankfully I didn't have to. Slept well all in all.
Stopped at the Deli to pick up lunch passing through for work. The food is reasonably priced and well proportioned! Oh and delicious!!!! I would have loved to have tried their Chicken Salad Croissant, but settled for the BLT. The sweet potato fries were great!
The people are very friendly and helpful, especially after my co-worker locked the keys in the vehicle. I’m sure it gave them a great story for the rest of the day (or week)!
**Edit** Stopped by again recently and had their Chicken Salad Croissant. It was fantastic!!!
