Absolutely gorgeous hike, some of the most majestic scenery on the east coast! Enjoyed the 1.5 mile hike from the car up to the observation deck, which was a nice view. You ascend more than 900 feet in elevation, so it can be difficult at times, but it's so worth it. If you're approaching from us33 eastbound, you can turn either right or left to find parking to access this trail.

Great view from the parking lot. Even better view from the observation deck. and on the rocks themselves. I didnt find the hike up to the top that strenuous. but wow what a view and what an experience it was. I can not wait to go back.

Such a beautiful area! This Crag is about 900 ft tall and has a roughly 1.7 Mi Trail that leads up to the north side of the rocks. I am not sure if there is a way to get to the South Peak. The trail zig zags so the incline is not too difficult to do. I would call the trail moderate. There are some areas that are dangerous, where you could slip and fall if you were not careful. There is an observation deck by the North Peak. People try to climb the mountain higher than the observation deck but this is strongly discouraged, people have died trying this. The peak is only about 10 ft wide and the winds are strong at that elevation. There are incredible views from the observation deck, you really don't need to try to go any higher.

20 Mins to get up and 10 down if you are looking for an exercise. Spent longer in total admiring the view from the very top though :)

This is a really beautiful place. The view from the top of the rocks is just amazing and breathtaking. You can sit on top of the rocks and just wonder how beautiful it is. But have to be careful when up there. It's definitely worth going up all the way the trail.

A nice little hike to the top but very obtainable....and well worth it to get there. Take your time and go for it, the view is impressive!!!

It’s like almost 1 mile up in the air, when you go beyond the STOP? sign you see more beautiful view but please be careful at that point.

Had to run up the mountain quickly because there was weather on the forefront but way worth it. The rock is relatively super thin and everything is climbable. glad we moved quick up the rock. The old ladies route is simple and somewhat exposed, worth it.

Enjoyed this hike to the rock peaks. The hike itself is not difficult. The rocks after the 'stop' sign provide a natural guard rail, allow to hike a bit further (unless unsteady or a child), great views! Good photos from both the top and bottom of Seneca Rocks.

The short mile long trail to the top of the rocks is not too bad of a hike and can be done by 95 percent of people. The overlook alone is worth it but the view you get from on top of the rocks is something else. I highly recommend!

Very impressive rocks almost look fake. Best view from below. No need to hike up.

We made the hike up to the top of Seneca Rocks while camping at Seneca Shadows Campground. The hike is about 1.5 miles each way and all uphill, but steps and switchbacks keep it from being too steep. Visiting in spring, there were a lot of wildflowers to stop and take a short photo break on the hike up. There is a nice overlook at the top with great views looking west. It is not recommended to go any higher, but you can scramble from here all the way to the top. It's the same view from the overlook, but fun if you like rock scrambling. It reminded us of Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs. Be very careful if you go up here as a fall would be fatal.

Worth the hike up! Mostly gravel path all the way up. Signage along the way describes foliage ans rock formations. The views are amazing! You can even go past the overlook (at your own risk) ans climb out onto the rock ledge. Dogs allowed and watch out for snakes.

Amazing views at the end of a fairly easy hike. Also not very crowded compared to a lot of other parks, so it makes the experience more enjoyable.

Excellent hike with phenomenal views. The path is clearly marked and the 2400 ft elevation makes this one that’s going to get your heart rate up!! The lookout at the end makes it all worth it!

I've seen pictures of this rock formation on promo pieces and was very curious to visited it. There is a 1+ mi trail leading up to the summit with an observation platform. I thought a mile wouldn't be much. After an earlier day's difficult hike, it WAS much. The trails are wide, gravelly, and well maintained. They are also steadily ascending from beginning to end with long switchbacks. Once I arrived at the top, there really wasn't any better vantage point of the rocks. The platform gives you a view of the valley, not the rocks. Bummer. Fortunately, going down was way faster...caught myself jogging at times. I parked in the lower lot behind the visitor's center near the helicopter pad. There's an access road across the creek that leads to the trail.

What a view! Can’t beat how good this looks for such a short hike. Of all the places in West Virginia, this is the place to go! No problems here whatsoever, all had a good time.

This place is breathtaking! It is amazing to look at from the bottom and the view is amazing from the top. Would highly reccomend.

Pretty aggressive hike. It takes 1-1:15 hours each way. If you and your hiking companions aren’t prepared for a minimum of 2 hours an 13K steps with steep inclines and switch backs, then do not go up this hike. If you go, the end is so very rewarding and worth all of the huffs and puffs and “are we there gets”

I came here on a retreat with my second degree black belt class and must say If you ever get a chance and you like climbing and/or hiking you must come here it's an incredible experience. The view from the top is amazing; it's so high up! If you hike to the top expect a hike of around one mile winding back and forth up the mountain. One you arrive at the top you will be amazed. There is a wooden deck that serves as an observation deck to your right and if you continue straight you can go out on to the rocks themselves but be aware that you will be scaling a ragged rocky edge less than ten feet wide but if you ate vonfortanvke with this the view from the rocks is even better than from the observation deck. I would without hesitation recommend anyone come here!

A little tiring to get up but the hike is definitely worth it, you have a breathtaking view of the surrounding area

Great Rock, easy approach, and a range of moderate climbing to suit many skill levels. Descent routes are extremely crowded on the weekends though, and while I'm grateful for the authors for putting it together, the guidebook is awkward. This is a classic climbing area, and I think the full value can be obtained by coming on a week day!

Check out that view! It is breath taking. Climbing to the summit will always be a highlight of my life.

Have traveled through here for years.. Stopped in today for a walk up the hill. Lost track of time.. Awesome.. It's hard to see in my photos, dozens of rock climbers scaling.
